National City Bank executives get $50 Million Golden Parachute

During the back and forth of the National City Bank/PNC Bank fiasco somethings struck me as strange, yet I was uanble to explain as to exactly why. While Rep. LaTourette, along with our local boy blunder - Dennis Kookcinich - were out there demanding answers about this questionable buyout with money from the bailout -- National City executives seemed too quiet.

It appeared LaTourette and kook-boy were not being told the whole story, and especially not by National City. It seemed as they were fighting for National City - harder than National City; Almost like they jumped into a fight that National City didn't want.

I think we may have found out why National City executives didn't mind the takeover...

National City Corp.'s top executives could get as much as $50 million in payouts thanks to closing today of the bank's $5.6 billion merger with PNC.

The payouts to National City's top 14 executives could total $49.5 million before taxes, according to filings made by PNC. Those payments had been thrown into question this year because PNC is buying National City with bailout money from the Treasury Department. The legislation that authorized the bailout forbids paying such "golden parachute" bonuses to officers of banks receiving the funds.

But National City did not receive the funds and apparently is not subject to those restrictions. PNC spokesman Brian Goerke said Tuesday that the parachute agreements "were existing obligations of National City, and PNC expects to abide by them." Executives who stay with PNC after the merger will not receive the payments.

Peter Raskind, National City's outgoing chief executive, stands to receive about $8.1 million in severance payments thanks to the merger. Earlier this year, he said he would donate a significant portion of those funds to the Cleveland Foundation if he received them. Raskind plans to leave the bank after the sale.

Other executives who apparently will get large payouts are retail banking chief Daniel Frate and Executive Vice President Jon Gorney. Frate could get $4.02 million after taxes and Gorney $3.96 million.

Area Religious Leaders to fight Cleveland's Gay Registry

I previously posted about how I hoped the City of Cleveland and the, Convention and Visitors Bureau of Greater Cleveland, attempts at increasing tourism here by turning this area into a Homo-Haven didn't pick up any speed.

Not only did it pick up speed, but we may soon be seeing sissy's in Speedos and cowboys in assless chap's if the Gaylympics, accompanied by a Gay Rodeo, are hosted here.

"Out in Cleveland" has reported The Cleveland Synergy Foundation has recently hired the global public relations firm Fleishman-Hillard International Communications to help organize landing the 20014 Gaylympics.

Oh boy, I can't wait - we will have a "flamer," with a flaming Gaylympic torch skipping down Euclid Ave. being cheered on by a bunch of bi-sexual, bare-back rodeo riders!

Adding legitimacy to the City of Cleveland becoming a Sanctuary City for Sissy's, is the foolishness by the City of Cleveland Clowncil. With the infrastructure failing, police radios barely working, clowncil members getting arrested, etc... they enact a Gay Registry.

Since all the conservative leaders in this area, (are there any? Oh wait the RPCC pretends they have some...), sit with that dumb & ineffective "but we try" look on their face, but as always - do nothing, the City of Cleveland continues dragging this whole region down.

But thankfully we have some area religious leaders willing to fight in attempts at keeping Cleveland from becoming the new Homo-Haven of the United States...

Several local pastors have banded together in an effort to repeal Cleveland's recently passed domestic-partner registry.

A group led by the Rev. C. Jay Matthews of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church is circulating two types of petitions, one of which would put the controversial issue on a citywide referendum ballot.

Matthews cast the registry as a sneaky maneuver by the City Council to circumvent a 2004 constitutional amendment that banned gay-marriage and civil unions in Ohio.

"It should be handled by the state of Ohio and, unfortunately, our city is once again out of step with the reality of the challenges that are before us," Matthews said at news conference Tuesday at his church. He was joined by seven other religious leaders. More...

But here is the most upsetting thing out of all this... many of the so-called conservative leaders, so-called visionaries of conservatism and "social club" members of the Republican Party of Cuyahoga County, in violations of our bylaws, donated money and actively supported the elected DEMOCRAT clowncilman responsible for the Gay Registry -- Cleveland's biggest clown -- Joe Simpleman.

Yep, you got it Cuyahoga County Conservative Sparky - while the leaders of the RPCC sat silent, party officers and long time party members supported the person responsible for this slippery slope type thinking that is bringing Cleveland a Gay Registry.

"Here's the thing: if they're against gay marriage, then say that," said Councilman Joe Cimperman, who sponsored the registry's creation. "This is not about gay marriage."

With this, since we cannot count on our $400K+ a year party leaders, I am asking and urging all members of the Republican Party of Cuyahoga County to support the initiative to put a city-wide referendum on the ballot.

In a wierd way - I just love IL Governor Blagojevich. I find it hilarious that he sits there and just thumbs his nose at all the other crooked politicians in Illinois. Almost in a James Traficant "Beam me up Scotty" type of way.

Fox News has an article listing what they believe to be the 5 most deadly types of conventional weapons. While accurate to a point - there is one deadly ommission and it can be considered the MOST lethal of all conventional weapons.

State Auditor report says Cuyahoga Recorders Office is over staffed

It looks like our beacon of light for good government is at it again! State of Ohio Auditor Mary Taylor, who has proven to be the only worthy statewide office holder, has completed the administrative audit of the Cuyahoga County Recorder's Office.

Taylor's report recommends the Recorder's Office cut 17 of the 100 current employees...

In April, The Plain Dealer reported that O'Malley had given three dozen patronage jobs in 2007, hiring former mayors, the son and daughter of a judge and the wife of a councilman.

As of April, the newspaper also reported, his office employed 103 workers -- nearly twice as many employees as in the recorder's office in Franklin County, which has slightly fewer people than Cuyahoga County.

Personnel costs have been the office's top expense since at least 2003. Salaries were more than $3.8 million this year. The 2009 county budget, which was adopted earlier this month, calls for reducing payroll to $3.1 million. But Cuyahoga's elected officials, such as the recorder, have the authority to outspend their budgets and occasionally do so.

On a side note -- What the PD fails to report is that many of the patronage jobs they highlighted were filled as they, the Plain Dealer, supported & turned a blind eye to the democrat machine driving our county to the mercury-filled bottom of Lake Erie.

Former area Prosecutor Dies in Prison serving time on Gun Charges

Former Bedford, Highland Hills, and Chagrin Falls Township Prosecutor, Tom Longo, died at the medical facility in the prison where he was serving his sentence on firearm charges.

Thomas G. Longo, a former lawyer, prosecutor and judicial candidate, died Dec. 3 while serving an eight-year prison sentence on firearms charges.

That was not his first scrape with the law. Longo, 64, served three years in prison previously, after admitting his role in a scheme to smuggle a half ton of marijuana into Ohio using a horse trailer.

He was sentenced to prison again in 2007 on the firearm charges, after detectives found a cache of guns in his house in 2004 while investigating a sexual assault case. As a felon, he could not own or possess any guns.

But before he could face the firearms charges, he fled to Mexico. More...

This is the ending to a very sad story. Tommy Longo was a great guy who got caught up in the game. I cannot count the times I was in Bedford Court on all the stupid stuff I did - Longo was always a gentleman and was always fair. I cannot speak highly enough about his work as prosecutor during his time in Bedford Court.

That he would get caught up in this crap can only be described as ignorant on his part. There is no doubt that one day, had he stayed clean, Tommy could have been elected judge somewhere.

During his time running from the law Longo was highlighted on the TV show "America's Most Wanted" and was eventually caught in Puerto Vallarta Mexico after the FBI pieced together shredded emails he sent to his wife.

Guns equal safety - proven right AGAIN

With the anointing of Barack soon to be official we can expect an onslaught of attacks on our 2nd Amendment rights. While Barack claims he respects our right to own guns and that he will not try and take our guns - I would be very leery. To date, everything Barack has campaigned on - he has switched his stance.

Even though the US Supreme Court has recently reaffirmed our right to bear arms, there are 18 states currently trying back door gun-control with legislation (The Ammunition Accountability Act) that will require putting serial numbers on ammunition which will then be tracked in a government data base.

The start of this new attack will begin with what they call the "gun-show loophole". World Net Daily highlights some very interesting facts from a recent study....

Mark Duggan and Randi Hjalmarsson of the University of Maryland and Brian A. Jacob of the University of Michigan teamed up to examine the evidence in a scientific study of the impact of gun shows on murder and suicide and accidental deaths.

They looked at 3,417 gun shows in two very different states – Texas and California – during an 11-year period. And they examined vital statistics data on suicides, homicides and accidental gun deaths in the weeks following them.

"We find a sharp decline in the number of gun homicides in the weeks immediately following a gun show," they concluded. Furthermore, in Texas they found "gun shows reduce the number of gun homicides by 16 in the average year."

They were railroaded by Vicente W. Bush’s hatchetman, Johnny "Die in a Fire You Bastard" Sutton. The man the Border Patrol agents shot lied on the witness stand, and the Feds knew it. Later, when reality reared its ugly head, he was exiled to a federal graybar where he wouldn’t cause the Feds any trouble.

Despite the stench choking rational adults from this miscarriage of justice, Ramos and Compean were denied the justice they deserved. Now, in the waning days of Vicente W. Bush’s administration, they are still getting the Oval Office shaft by a president whose record on border enforcement is a disgrace.

Vicente W. Bush pardons drug dealers, spies and other lowlifes, but the two men who deserve, at minimum, a presidential pardon - followed by a presidential apology - are passed over.

This kind of crap shouldn’t happen in the United States of America.

One of Vicente W. Bush’s personality traits is a stubborn streak that’s a big as Mexas. We saw that play out, time, and time again, throughout his tenure in the Oval Office. Let’s face it "Oops, my bad" just isn’t in his vocabulary.

We’re inclined to give Vicente props for his dogged determination, when he’s pursuing the Jihadikaze scumbags, who want to destroy us. That’s one instance where his stubborn streak worked for us.

Unhappily, his pigheaded refusal to second guess his decisions isn’t our idea of a good time, when it comes to America’s immigration policy. That brings us to this award.

Despite the blatant injustice of the sentences imposed on them, Ramos and Compean continue to be America’s most egregiously maligned political prisoners. Condemning them to rot for at least a decade in a federal prison for shooting a drug smuggling, border jumping, pile of shit in the ass is BULL SHIT. Bush's refusal to admit that the punishment is much too harsh for the ‘alleged’ crime is an intolerable injustice. It’s not the act of a brave defender of justice. It’s gutless to the core.

We’re disgusted by the fact that Vicente Bush steadfastly refuses to set Ramos and Compean free with a presidential pardon, in the waning days of his administration. For this act of craven cowardice, Vicente W. Bush earned this richly deserved bitch-slap as the Politically Incorrect Gazette’s Girlieman of the Year.

Cleveland Community Activist & Radio Host - Art McKoy arrested in Drug Investigation

Street Hustler turned community activist & radio host, Art "No Justice-No Peace" McKoy, was arrested by East Cleveland police as the result of a drug investigation. Several drug purchases were made out of Art's barber shop, Superfly, during the past year and 1lb of coke was confiscated during the raid.

McKoy, founder of Black on Black Crime, Inc. - a Cleveland activist group, also hosted a radio show at 9:00pm on WTAM. Like Triv is the white fool - Mckoy was the black fool. Art's radio was over the top and very amusing. Defining "whites" as "suburbanites," McKoy offered a forum of fun for some unintended hilarity on topics mostly for the Cleveland & Cuyahoga County area.

High-profile community activist Art McKoy was arrested Wednesday and is accused of running a major drug-distribution operation from his East Cleveland barbershop.

In addition to powder cocaine, officers bought crack cocaine and heroin in the shop, Mayor Eric Brewer said. The investigation began in February. Police made numerous drug purchases in the barbershop, Police Chief Ralph Spotts said.

Police declined to say whether McKoy personally sold any of the drugs or was present when the drugs were sold. More...

McKoy is a street hustler who hustled his way up and into the Cleveland media. That is not a shot at him - just the truth.

Though he may sound like it, McKoy is no fool when it comes to the "streets". Trust me, Art knows the "street". If the amount of drugs coming out of his shop is as police say - everyone on the street knew it - meaning Art was also aware.

The ruthless drug trade in this area, once protected by the PD, is handled by a select few & and their is no way anyone can tell me McKoy had no knowledge that his barber shop was being used as the main source of herion, crack and coke in this area.

I repoed furniture & cars in East Cleveland for many years. We called East Cleveland - "Dodge City" - as it was like the Wild Wild West. At one time I knew E.C. like the back of my hand and had established a "working relationship" with the major drug players. On some "one way in - one way out" streets like Page Ave & Wymore, it was common practice for the dope boys on the corner to charge a fee for securing safe passage in and out. If you knew who they slung for, sometimes the fee was dismissed.

McKoy, who plays the victim better than anyone, has yet to make a statement about the arrest -though his fellow community activists (No, not Obama) have bullhorned his innocence.

Two Candidates for the Death Penalty

A Tucson couple face murder charges after an autopsy revealed their baby girl's death was caused by malnutrition.

Authorities arrested 26-year-old Terri Sullivan and 27-year-old Scott Sullivan after their 6-week-old child Kimberlie died Aug. 30.

Tucson police say the Sullivans are charged with first-degree murder. Initially, they were charged with felony child abuse.

A Pima County Medical Examiner's report says the baby weighed 5.8 pounds at death and 7 pounds 12 ounces at birth.

Forensic pathologist Dr. Eric D. Peters wrote there were no drugs in the "emaciated" baby's body and "no evidence of recent injury."

Tucson police say Terri Sullivan told detectives she had been starving her baby since the child was about 11 days old. She gave no reason for her alleged actions.

Both parents should be candidates for the Death Penalty. Not only should they be sentenced to death, but I hope their death will be 10x more painful than the poor babies. How can a person worthy of life willfully deprive any child like this?

It makes my skin crawl just imagining what this poor defenseless child was thinking while she was slowly being starved to death.

The owner, Merrill Worcester, not only providesthe wreaths, but covers the trucking expense as well. He's done this since 1992. A wonderful guy. Also, most years, groups of Maine school kids combine an educational trip to DC with this event to help out. Making this even more remarkable is the fact that Harrington is in one the poorest parts of the state.

State Auditor investigating Cleveland & Toledo School Purchases

At least we have one Republican in Ohio we can be proud of - State Auditor Mary Taylor.

Taylor has saved our state untold millions since she has been elected.

State auditors investigating questionable purchases by Cleveland schools Chief
Operating Officer Daniel Burns will also look into practices followed by the Toledo schools when he was their business manager.

Auditors will review purchases from vendors used by both districts, State Auditor Mary Taylor said Tuesday. (Related: Toledo Blade report)

Burns and his assistant, Shenee McCoy-Gibbons, have been on paid leave since Dec. 10 while auditors and Cuyahoga County sheriff's detectives investigate the purchase of at least $160,000 in equipment.

Authorities have not specified the kind of equipment or how many pieces; nor have they laid out the nature of any possible irregularities.

“Money is the means of your survival. The verdict that you pronounce upon the source of you livelihood is the verdict that you pronounce upon your life. If the source is corrupt then you have damned your own existence. Did you get your money by fraud or by pandering to man’s vices or stupidity? By catering to fools in hope of getting more then your ability deserves? By lowering your standards? By doing work you despise for purchasers you scorn? If so then your money will not give you a moment of joy. Then all the things that you buy will become, not a tribute to you, but a reproach, not an achievement but a reminder of shame. Then you’ll scream that money is evil, because it would not pinch-hit for you self respect. Evil because it would not let you enjoy your depravity. Is this the root of all that is evil.

“Money will always remain an effect and refuse to replace you as the cause. Money is the product of virtue, but it will not give you virtue and it will not redeem your vices. Money will not give you the unearned, neither in matter nor in spirit. Is this the root of their hatred for money.

“Or did they say that the love of money is the root of all evil? To love a thing is to know and love it’s nature. To love money is to know and to love the fact that money is the creation of the best power within you, and the passkey to trade your effort for the effort of the best among men. It’s the person who will sell his soul for a nickel, who is the loudest in proclaiming his hatred of money, and he has good reason to hate it. The lovers of money are willing to work for it, they know they are able to deserve it.

Let me give you a tip on a clue to man’s character: the man who damns money has obtained it dishonorably; the man who respects it has earned it. Run for your life from any man who tells you that money is evil. That sentence is the leper’s bell of an approaching looter. So long as man lives together on earth and need means to deal with one another- their only substitute if they abandon money is the barrel of a gun.

“ But money demands of you the highest virtues, if you wish to make it or to keep it. Men who have no courage , pride, or self esteem, men who have no moral sense of their right to their money and are not willing to defend it as they defend their life, men who apologize for being rich – will not remain rich for long. They are the natural bait for the swarms of looters that stay under rocks for centuries, but come crawling out at the first smell of the man who begs to be forgiven for the quilt of owning wealth. They will hasten to relieve him of the quilt – and of his life, as he deserves.

“Then you will see the rise of the man with the double standard- the men who live by force, yet count on those who live by trade to create the value of their looted money- the men who are the hitchhikers of virtue. In a moral society, these are the criminals, and the statues are written to protect you against them. But when a society establishes a criminal-by-right and a looter-by law- men who use force to seize the wealth of disarmed victims- then money becomes it’s creator’s avenger.

Such looters believe it safe to rob defenseless men, once they’ve passed the laws to disarm them. But their loot becomes the magnet of other looters, who get it from them by the same means they got it. Then the race goes not to the ablest at production, but to those most ruthless at brutality.

When force is the standard, the murderer wins over the pickpocket. And then that society vanishes, in a spread of ruin and slaughter, “Do you wish to know whether that day is coming? Watch money. Money is the barometer of a society’s virtue. When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion – when you see that in order to produce you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing – when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors- when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you. When you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice, you may know your society is doomed. Money is so noble a medium that it does not compete with guns and it does not make terms with brutality. It will not permit a country to survive as half-property, half-loot.

“Whenever destroyers appear among men, they start by destroying money, for money is man’s protection and the base of a moral existence. Destroyers seize the gold and leave to it’s owner a counterfeit pile of paper. This kills all objectives standards delivers men into the arbitrary power of an arbitrary setter of values. Gold was an objective value, an equivalent of wealth produced. Paper is a mortgage on wealth that does not exist, backed by a gun aimed at those who are expected to produce it. Paper is a check drawn by legal looters upon an account which is not theirs: upon the virtue of the victim. Watch for the day when it bounces, marked: “Account overdrawn”.

“When you have made evil the means of survival, do not expect men to remain good. Do not expect him to stay moral and loose their lives for the purpose of becoming fodder of the immoral. Do not expect them to produce, when production is punished and looting rewarded. Do not ask “Who is destroying the world?” you are.

“You should stand in the midst of the greatest achievement of the greatest productive civilization and you wonder why it is crumbling around you, while your damning it’s life blood- money. You look upon as the savages did before you, and you wonder why the jungle is creeping back to the edge of you cities. Throughout man’s history money was always seized by looters of one brand or another, whose names change, but whose methods remain the same: to seize wealth by force and to keep the producers bound, demeaned, defamed, and deprived of honor.

That phrase about the “evil of money” which you mouth with such righteous recklessness, comes from a time when wealth was produced by the labor of slaves- slaves who repeated the motions once discovered by somebody’s mind and left unimproved for centuries. So long as production was ruled by force, and wealth obtained by conquest, there was little to conquer. Yet through all the centuries of stagnation and starvation, men exalted the looters, as aristocrats of the sword, as aristocrats of birth, of aristocrats of the bureau, and despise the producers, as slaves, as traders, as shopkeepers, as industrialists.

“To the glory of mankind, there was, for the first and only time in history, a country of money- and I have no higher, more reverent tribute to pay to America, for this means: a country of reason, justice, freedom, production, achievement. For the first time man’s money and mind were set free, and there were no fortunes-by-conquest, but only fortunes-by work, and instead of swordsmen and slaves, there appeared the real makers of wealth, the greatest worker, the highest type of human being, the self-made man, the American industrialist.

“If you ask me to name the proudest distinction of America- I would choose – because it contains all the others- the fact that we are the people who created the phase “To make money”. No other language or nation had ever used these words before, man had always thought of wealth as a static quantity to be seized, begged, inherited, shared, looted or obtained by a favor. Americans were the first to understand that wealth has to be created. The words “to make money” hold the essence of human morality.

“Yet these are the words for which Americans are denounced by the rotted cultures of the looter continents. Now the looters’ credo has brought us to regard our proudest achievements as a hallmark of shame, our prosperity as quilt, our greatest men the industrialist as blackguards, and our magnificent factories as the product and property of muscular labor, the labor of a whip-driven slave, like the pyramids of Egypt. The rotter that simpers that he sees no difference between the power of the dollar and the power of the whip, ought to learn to learn the differences on his own hide-as, I think he will.

“Until and unless you discover that money is the root of all good, you ask for your own destruction. When money ceases to be the tool by which men deal with one another, then men become the tools of men. Blood, whips and guns – or Dollars take your choice there is no other – and your time is running out.

Breast Cancer in Iran

While this Breast cancer study only reflects women in Iran, I would assume, if taken in other muslim and/or Third World countries the results would be nearly the same or worse.

Women living in muslim countries where Islamic law is the rule of the day face an added hurdle with any medical issues. Under Islamic law, it is illegal for a women to visit a male doctor and women are not allowed to work, which means a lack of any readily accessible female doctors.

Results: A total of 1402 women were interviewed. The mean age of respondents was 43.4 (SD = 14.4) years; most were married (85%), and without any personal (94%) and family history (90%) of breast problems.

It was found that 64% of the respondents were familiar with breast cancer and 61% (n = 851) believed that 'the disease is relatively common among women in Iran'. Most women (44%) perceived a painless mass as a breast cancer symptom.

Overall, 61% of the respondents stated that they knew about breast cancer screening programs and most indicated that electronic media (television 34% and radio 14%) were their source of information. Only 17% of women said that 'they were conducting regular breast self-examination'.

The main reason for women not doing breast self-examination was due to the fact that they did not know how to do it (64%). The findings indicated that performing breast self-examination is significantly related to: age, marital status, education, knowledge of breast cancer and knowledge about breast cancer screening programs (p<0.05), p =" 0.2)" p =" 0.7)">

Conclusions: This descriptive study provides useful information that could be utilized by both researchers and those involved in public health programmes.

The findings indicated that the women awareness of breast cancer warning signs (painless lump, retraction of nipple, and bloody discharge) and effective screening methods i.e. clinical examination, and mammography were very inadequate.

Thus, health education programmes to rectify the lack of women awareness is urgently needed. Indeed the focus of primary health care providers should be to raise awareness about breast care among women and to encourage them to report any unusual changes in their breasts to their family or care physicians.

Labor unions, gearing up for a fierce fight on Capitol Hill next year, will find a fervent ally in Barack Obama's pick for Labor Secretary, Rep. Hilda Solis (D-Calif.), who has relied heavily on financial support from unions during her time in the House of Representatives. In total Solis has collected $888,050 from the labor sector since 1999, more than twice what she collected from her next most generous sector, which is made up of ideological groups. At least 15 of her top 20 contributors are labor unions, ranging from the United Auto Workers ($46,000) to the Carpenters & Joiners Union ($40,000). She has also collected $40,000 from the nation's largest public employee and health care workers union, AFSCME.

Her supporters will now be expecting her to return the favor. This will start with advocating for legislation that allows workers to unionize once more than 50 percent of a company's workforce signs union cards. Currently unions are formed through secret-ballot elections, which labor organizations say allow bosses to bully employees into voting against forming a union. As part of her new post, Solis is also expected to push "green" jobs. It doesn't appear Solis has received any money from the alternative energy industry during her time in Congress, and she has received scant money from the energy sector overall--a mere $94,350. In addition to unions, lawyers and law firms and women's issues groups have helped fund her campaigns, giving her $226,076 and $225,400, respectively. The PAC EMILY's List, which supports pro-choice female candidates, is her No. 1 donor, having given her at least $85,000.

The first registered Republican to be appointed to Barack Obama's Cabinet, reportedly, holds another distinction--he is one of few GOP lawmakers whose campaigns have relied, in part, on transportation unions, a Democratic-leaning industry. Rep. Ray LaHood, who will officially take the position of Transportation Secretary next month, has collected $149,850 from transportation unions, making them his 8th most generous industry in the 14 years he's been in the House of Representatives. Historically these unions have heavily favored Democrats, just this cycle giving 87 percent of their total $14.7 million to Democratic candidates and committees. Next year they will be vying to shape the economic stimulus plan, which LaHood will help piece together. LaHood hails from Peoria, Ill., where unions, including the United Auto Workers, have had a strong presence.

During his congressional career, LaHood collected a total of $7 million, nearly $346,400 of which came from the transportation sector. The National Auto Dealers Association ($54,000) and Airline Pilots Association ($53,000) have been among his top donors. As Transportation Secretary, LaHood will be charged with creating jobs and building infrastructure, weighing the sometimes-competing interests of the various transportation industries. At $124,850, the automotive industry has contributed more to LaHood than the other industries in the sector. LaHood will oversee the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), among other key agencies in DOT.

In this case the name of the Grinch is Thomas J. Murphy, the home owners association property manager for a Flori-DUH Gulag named Ibis Cove. The victims of this Grinchiness are Tom Hayes, his wife Anne-Marie, and their three rugrat aged kids.

In early December Tom Hayes, 52, a retired New York police officer, put up about a dozen Christmas decorations in the front yard of his Ibis Cove home, 8700 Ibis Cove Circle, including an inflatable snowman, a Santa Claus who waves at passers-by, a Santa Claus on a see-saw, light-up presents and a Christmas countdown clock. Days later, Hayes said he received a letter from his property manager, Thomas J. Murphy, threatening a $100 per-day fine, up to $1,000, for each day the decorations are in place.

Hayes, who has a 4-year-old son and twin 1-year-old daughters with his wife Ann Marie, 38, said the Christmas decorations are staying until the holiday is over. “You’ll see every night people stopping with their kids taking pictures with Santa Claus,” Hayes said. “It’s not gaudy. It’s not over the top. It’s just a nice display for a magical time of year.” (Naples Daily News)

Unwilling to back down, Tom Hayes says this isn’t the first time the HOA asshats have painted a bull’s-eye on his holiday decor. They whined, threatened and blustered over prior Christmas displays. They whined, threatened and blustered over his inflatable pumpkin at Halloween, and his inflatable turkey at Thanksgiving. Is he worried? Not really, despite this new $100 a day fine wrinkle. He thinks he’s on solid ground, according to the HOA rules of engagement which states "“Christmas, Easter or any other holiday decoration cannot be displayed more than 30 days before said holiday and must be removed no longer than 14 days after said holiday.”

Tom Hayes says he’s in good company, since many of his neighbors who deployed Christmas decor also threat-o-gram from Murphy and the rest of the HOA asshats. And what, you ask, does this Murphy turd have to say for himself? "The association will not discuss any business of the association with the press." Like all petty tyrants, Terrible Tommy Murphy runs for cover when confronted with his tyrannical behavior.

Dear future Labor Secretary Hilda Solis

I am ethnically 1/4 Greek and half French and 1/4 Italian. As a Citizen of the United States I am a US CITIZEN, first! I can completely understand the desire of some Hispanics seeking to help their ethnic friends and family, it is after all very natural. However, as is the case right now with the unbelievable mititancy and activism from so-called Hispanic leaders we have a blatant outrageous push for demographic hegemony, to push, foist a Hispanic agenda on the United States by promoting unfettered, unchecked HUGE immigration (legal and especially illegal) of Hispanics to totally overwhelm our country and create a fait accompli and force us to adopt a new culture, language, you name it. It is simply incredible that ideology, misplaced compassion and political correctness has ben used to subvert the laws of this country, its culture and language.

Mrs Solis, it is time to stop this and understand that average US citizens are now more organized and more militant than ever and yes they are the vast majority of the citizenry and their numbers crush those who shout, lobby, organize, advocate for open borders and the balkanization of our country. We are simple overwhelming them. Americans are now committed to drawing a line in the sand and are in the face of those who seek to subvert our laws and our way of life. If you want the American dream, get in line, do it right, assimilate or integrate. By all means be proud of your origins and language. Learn English and fly our flag. We will welcome you and embrace you.

So Mrs Solis as Labor Secretary I wil expect that you will uphold the laws of the United States and that you will work for the workers of this country and while you might have said that everybody in this hemisphere is "legal" you understand that this will not fly. Trust me, we will keep you honest. So work hard to promote E-Verify in the workplace, secure our borders, and illegal immigration will slow down. Actually it is time to curb immigration period, we need OUR jobs and OUR resources. We are Citizens of this country and NO you don't owe anything to foreigners (they have no entitlement to our country and it's not our mission to be Mother Theresas) but to US, Citizens and legal residents. Will the 3rd time be the Charm in Challenging Obama's Eligibility?

Like the Energizer Bunny, the cases challenging Obama's eligibility are still going strong. There have been a ton of lawsuits challenging Obama's right to take office with fellow Democrat Philip Berg taking the lead.

To date Berg has filed several injuctions, all of which have been denied except his original compliant that is scheduled to be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court on January 9th, 2009.

"I know that Mr. Obama is not a constitutionally qualified natural born citizen and is ineligible to assume the office of president of the United States," Berg said in a statement on his ObamaCrimes.com website.

"Obama knows he is not 'natural born' as he knows where he was born and he knows he was adopted in Indonesia; Obama is an attorney, Harvard Law grad who taught Constitutional law; Obama knows his candidacy is the largest 'hoax' attempted on the citizens of the United States in over 200 years; Obama places our Constitution in a 'crisis' situation; and Obama is in a situation where he can be blackmailed by leaders around the world who know Obama is not qualified," Berg's statement continued.

On one hand, it is almost hard to believe Obama's origin of birth could still be an issue at this point his political career. On the other hand, with cult-like support rivaling David Koresh & Charlie Manson that the "Anointed One" has generated, I do not put anything past them in advancing their socialist agenda.

If the birth certificate is legal and can be verified - he should produce it and put an end to this circus-like spectacle of challenges...

A partial listing and status update for several of the cases surrounding Obama's eligibility to serve as president is below:

• Philip J. Berg, a Pennsylvania Democrat, demanded that the courts verify Obama's original birth certificate and other documents proving his American citizenship. Berg's latest appeal, requesting an injunction to stop the Electoral College from selecting the 44th president, was denied. But the conference on the case is set Jan. 9.

• Leo Donofrio of New Jersey filed a lawsuit claiming Obama's dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president. His case was considered in conference by the U.S. Supreme Court but denied a full hearing.

• Cort Wrotnowski filed suit against Connecticut's secretary of state, making a similar argument to Donofrio. His case was considered in conference by the U.S. Supreme Court, but was denied a full hearing.

• Former presidential candidate Alan Keyes headlines a list of people filing a suit in California, in a case handled by the United States Justice Foundation, that asks the secretary of state to refuse to allow the state's 55 Electoral College votes to be cast in the 2008 presidential election until Obama verifies his eligibility to hold the office. The case is pending, and lawyers are seeking the public's support.

• Chicago attorney Andy Martin sought legal action requiring Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle to release Obama's vital statistics record. The case was dismissed by Hawaii Circuit Court Judge Bert Ayabe.

• Lt. Col. Donald Sullivan sought a temporary restraining order to stop the Electoral College vote in North Carolina until Barack Obama's eligibility could be confirmed, alleging doubt about Obama's citizenship. His case was denied.

• In Ohio, David M. Neal sued to force the secretary of state to request documents from the Federal Elections Commission, the Democratic National Committee, the Ohio Democratic Party and Obama to show the presidential candidate was born in Hawaii. The case was denied.

• In Washington state, Steven Marquis sued the secretary of state seeking a determination on Obama's citizenship. The case was denied.

• In Georgia, Rev. Tom Terry asked the state Supreme Court to authenticate Obama's birth certificate. His request for an injunction against Georgia's secretary of state was denied by Georgia Superior Court Judge Jerry W. Baxter.

• California attorney Orly Taitz has brought a case, Lightfoot vs. Bowen, on behalf of Gail Lightfoot, the vice presidential candidate on the ballot with Ron Paul, four electors and two registered voters.

Private investigator Douglas Hagmann of Homeland Security US reported earlier he found 13 cases challenging Obama's eligibility still active or semi-active.

A new report by the U.S. Army War College talks about the possibility of Pentagon resources and troops being used should the economic crisis lead to civil unrest, such as protests against businesses and government or runs on beleaguered banks.

“Widespread civil violence inside the United States would force the defense establishment to reorient priorities in extremis to defend basic domestic order and human security,” said the War College report.

U.S. Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., and U.S. Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Calif., both said U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson brought up a worst-case scenario as he pushed for the Wall Street bailout in September. Paulson, former Goldman Sachs CEO, said that might even require a declaration of martial law, the two noted. More...

You don't believe it may happen? On a small scale and too the delight of all the "Say it ain't so" Socialist Sparky's on the left, the civil unrest has already started and Obama played a major roll. Remember, when Barack first started building his Obamadom he was a community activist - now he is the most famous community activist.

Yes, President-elect Barack O'socialist-dogma, in joining up with the previously most famous community activist, Rev. Je$$e "Blackmail" Jackson, has recently encouraged civil unrest as a way of mediating problems.

Earlier this month we all heard about the IL company, Republic Window & Door, suddenly closing shop and not paying the employees vacation time and severance pay. The reason behind it -- the company claimed they were broke and the owner could not get anymore credit from Bank of America. When he closed the shop with only 3 day notice, 200 employees with the support of their union, staged a "sit-in" at the factory lasting nearly a week.

The workers demanded to be paid for the required 60 day notice they did not receive as required by union contract, unused vacation time, any back pay and severance pay. The company and Bank of America were at a standstill in negotiations for more credit and the workers were paying an added price of being out of work with no money coming in. So, I agree something needed to be done.

While Mr. President-elect "Share the Wealth" could have just given them all a check from his bloated campaign fund - (I am sure their union dues bought quite a few yard signs) and ended the "sit-in," Obama, still not understanding the power of the office he will hold, offers this in support of the workers....

"When you have a financial system that is shaky, credit contracts. Businesses large and small start cutting back on their plants and equipment and their work forces.

"So, number one, I think that these workers, if they have earned their benefits and their pay, then these companies need to follow through on those commitments. Number two, I think it is important for us to make sure that, moving forward, any economic plan we put in place helps businesses to meet payroll so we are not seeing these kinds of circumstances again." Notice anything missing from Obama's remarks? How about - GO HOME!

He should used his ever-so talented silver tongue and encouraged the employees to go home and be with their families. He should have told them he will personally see to it that both sides work out a fair, equitable and fiscally sound agreement for the workers in a timely fashion. Bank of America eventually reached a deal with the workers - even though they were not legally obligated.

When Barack should have acted presidential he instead chose to act like a community activist and encouraged civil disobedience for dealing with the same type crisis ( insert famous monkey-see/monkey-do theory here) the U.S. Army War College, Sen. Inhofe & Rep. Sherman warn about above. It would have the lefty's thrilled spitless if Barack "O-what the hell do I do now-ama" was forced to declare martial law?

It appears that all it takes to spur an ex-president to action is the appointment of his spouse to be Secretary of State. The William J. Clinton Foundation, which funds the former president's library in addition to his other charitable initiatives, today disclosed all donors back to 1997. Here were some of our observations in looking over the list of more than 200,000 contributors:

• Superstars of the Hollywood variety (Steven Spielberg and Barbra Streisand) and tech variety (Bill Gates) were among the most generous donors. Spielberg gave between $500,001 and $1 million out of pocket (the totals are listed in ranges), while both Streisand and Gates gave through their foundations, at least $1 million and at least $10 million, respectively. MTV and Starbucks also played politics, with the broadcast network giving at least $100,001 and the coffee company giving at least $50,001.

• Bill Clinton might be able to relate to the donors who feel that they'll never quite escape controversy. Denise Rich, ex-wife of fugitive financier Marc Rich, who received a controversial pardon from Clinton right before he left office, gave at least $250,001, and trial lawyer William Lerach, who is serving prison time for his law firm's illegal payback scheme to plaintiffs, gave the foundation at least $100,001.

• While everyone on the list clearly eventually liked Bill Clinton, they might not have always liked him or felt the same about his wife. Media tycoon Richard Mellon Scaife spent big money to discredit the Clintons while they were in the White House, but Scaife gave at least $100,001 to Bill Clinton's foundation. The late trial lawyer Fred Baron gave at least $500,001, but was a big supporter during the 2008 presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton's primary-season opponent John Edwards. The foundation has also collected at least $50,000 from William Daley, co-chair of fundraising efforts for Barack Obama's inauguration.

• Big Democratic donors Steve Bing and Peter Lewis both made the list. Bing, an entertainment executive, gave the library at least $10 million, while Lewis, who founded Progressive Insurance, gave at least $500,001.

• And, of course, individuals who worked for Bill Clinton in the White House pitched in. Both former chiefs of staff Thomas F. McLarty and Erskine Bowles gave at least $50,001. Getting Stimulated By all this Stimulus Talk.

Trading one man’s blood, sweat, and tears for another man’s food, lottery bets, and beers appears to be the only result of this plague that these goose steppers have introduced into our country. We have been transformed from the land of the free and the home of the brave to the land of the freeloader and home of the dazed. In a time when the private sector is shrinking due to market responses to government interference, we have these non-producing parasites in the government, and I mean federal, state, and local making their personal wish lists.

With a president elect encouraging this and reminding them “Don’t forget anyone of your constituents get it all in their, this is it. The big one, the one we’ve been waiting for we’re going to soak em for all they got”. In the words of my grandfather Pluchino “It’s the Era of The Last Great Big Spenders”. And they are off and running, tripping over themselves to get in the treasury vault.

I would like to present my thoughts on all of these jackals one group at a time. Have you got a minute?

Let’s see what Ali Obama and his forty thieves have in store for us. I hate to say this but it hurts so much inside I have to get this off my chest first. The UAW and it’s active members: This one really hurts because my father-in-law and two of his bother’s are retired Ford Motor Company lifers. But what in the hell are the UAW and all of their minions doing begging the senate for welfare, have they lost every ounce of their pride. This is coming from the same “union” thugs that show up in Alabama, Tennessee and any other state with non-union auto workers to picket and protest with their giant inflatable “Rats” and signs to degrade the core values, and mock the efforts of their fellow Americans. On the sole issue, they won’t sign the union pledge cards to support Mr. Stinkfinger (aka Gettofinger) and his hoard of 15,000 freeloaders in the jobs bank. Do we owe the UAW and it’s workers their own little personal welfare system? They seem to think so.

Don’t you think that practices like this need to end? Well they won’t, not till we have leaders to tell the auto company and their employee’s “Tow the line or get in the other line for government cheese with the rest of the “RATS”.

But let’s get this strait the domestic auto industry isn’t failing because of the workers it’s failing due to union greed and government standards but we all know that. We have allowed a congress full of used car salesmen to impersonate auto executives in their sick land of make believe. But that land of make believe is on the verge of being our reality and can you imagine what they will try to force GM and the others to produce once they have control oops… I mean once they float 'em a loan. Our government is in the process of laying out the ground works for a totally different and useless auto industry and the media is hailing it as “auto rescue”.

Now I also wanted to start my ranting and raving with the auto industry also because it goes hand and hand with this little jewel of contradiction the Green Army {Green Army in honor of their brethren that served Stalin and still serve Putin today in the Red Army}.

The environmentalists, the ever present fifth column of our government along with Obama have been leading the charge of investing in our country’s “infrastructure”. And being in the business I hear him loud and clear every time he opens his pie hole on this topic. But I only have one question for you. If they want to eliminate all off shore drilling, not allow any drilling in ANWAR{Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska}, and minimize the importing of oil from foreign sources. What the hell do you think we will be driving on all these fancy new roads?

They tell us that our vehicles are contributing to global warming, I’m sorry global warming that’s so yesterday. Climate Change that’s the new mantra, we call it the four seasons of the year where I come from but let’s just go along for shits and giggles. They want us all in electric cars that can go 40 miles on a charge and to ride mass transit. But at the same time whistle a tune about investing in new roads from coast to coast to the sum of over $100,000,000,000 {I just like writing out that big number, it’s like saying a zillion when you were a kid}.

Boys I’m here to tell you, these fools look one way but paddle another and when they crash the canoe we are all going to sink with 'em.

Ali Obama and the forty thieves said they wanted to spend gobs of tax money on weather striping doors and installing new light bulbs in all of the public schools. The central fact of political life in Mexifornia is that the state’s Demoncrats fall a few seats short, in both chambers of the state legislature, from having a two-thirds majority. Normally, lacking that built-in two-thirds is no big deal, but, there is one situation where, per the state constitution, a two-thirds vote of the legislature is required: raising taxes.

This week, the Mexifornia Demoncrats are making an end run around this pesky clause in the constitution. Unable to make the Elephant Clan ‘do the right thing’ - Demoncrat code for making the taxpayer ‘pay’ for the Demoncrat majority’s unrelenting spending binge - they hit upon a nifty scheme.

Instead of raising "taxes", the Demoncrats will avoid that two-thirds vote nightmare with word games. How? They will impose a mountain of new "fees", a task they can accomplish with a simple majority vote. The key distinction between ‘fee’ and ‘tax’ is, how the money is spent. A tax goes into the general fund and can be used for anything in the state budget. A ‘fee’ is imposed to fund one particular budget item. For example, a ‘fee’ on cars might pay for the roads.

The Demoncrats will pretend that the new ‘fees’ will go, exclusively, to the designated stated budget line item, but nobody is foolish enough to take them at their word. These turds can’t control their spending addiction and have no intention of giving it the old college try. Instead, they will run this ‘fee’ scam up the Sacramento flagpole to see if anyone will salute. If this scheme works, it will open the spending floodgates so wide, the ensuing Mexifornia debt will make the infamous national debt seem like chump change.

Mexifornia is too far gone to save. It’s time to do the right thing and flush this left coast blight out of the USA. Let Mexico have it back, since it has the requisite experience wrangling turds of this magnitude.

The non-negotiable fact of Elected Tormentor life is that, sooner or later, someone is going to make you the butt of a joke. The higher on the political ladder you climb, the more allegedly-humorous hits you take. It’s demonstrably true for the likes of Juan McCain, Vicente W. Bush, Dick "Darth" Cheney, Teddy "The Swimmer" Kennedy, Bubba & Hillary, and, especially Sarah "I’m hotter than Tina Fey" Palin.

That Elected Tormentor bull’s-eye is affixed to all comers, but some handle it better than others. That brings us to NY Governor David Paterson, who is determined to cloak himself in Messiah Barry class joke punch-line immunity. He’s blind and, he insists, that aspect of his life should be off-limits. The folks at Saturday Night Live, beg to differ.

The skit -- which aired on Saturday [December 13] -- featured SNL actor Fred Armisen as Paterson, who is faced with the task of appointing someone to replace Sen. Hillary Clinton. Armisen said he was looking for three characteristics in candidates for the job: economic experience, upstate influence and someone who is disabled and unprepared for the job -- like himself. The actor then held up a chart illustrating the state's job losses upside down.

"Come on, I'm a blind man who loves cocaine who was suddenly appointed governor of New York, which is an actual plot from a Richard Pryor movie," Armisen said in the skit. (Fox News)

The Paterson bit was a running gag, throughout the show, that had him, blundering around in the background during the SNL news skit. It was fun stuff, and the kind of thing that an Elected Tormentor should expect. Obviously, Paterson - and his minions - didn’t get the memo on that element of political life.

"The governor engages in humor all the time, and he can certainly take a joke. However, this particular Saturday Night Live skit unfortunately chose to ridicule people with physical disabilities and imply that disabled people are incapable of having jobs with serious responsibilities. The governor is sure that Saturday Night Live with all of its talent can find a way to be funny without being offensive. Knowing the governor, he might even have some suggestions himself." In other words, we think it's much funnier when you use Bush, Cheney, Palin and McCain for target practice.

"He has come to dominate the public sphere so completely that it beggars belief to recall that half the people in America had never heard of him two years ago.

"He hit the American scene like a thunderclap, upended our politics, shattered decades of conventional wisdom and overcame centuries of the social pecking order."

Mr Obama has featured on the magazine's cover 15 times in the past two years.

The only thing they are missing is he is able to part oceans & fart wrapped slices of cheese!

More Hypocritical Bigotry from the Plain Dealer & Connie Schultz

The Cleveland Rag Dealer columnwitch, Connie Schultz, again proves the PD is nothing more than a bunch of “pick & choose” bigots!

This time old leather face Schultz has her big old Betsy bloomers in a bunch over the SNL skit about New York Governor David Patterson. The SNL skit took aim at Patterson being blind among other things.

I agree it is not right to make fun of a person being blind, but Patterson routinely makes light of his being blind. In other words – he is comfortable with it and has learned to accept it. Not to mention that his blindness never stopped him from being a coke-snorting whoremonger while he was married or from becoming a politician. But old “Save the Day” Schultz still feels the need to protect him.

Why does Connie “I sleep with a Senator” Schultz feel the need to defend him? Because Schultz defending Patterson is a like a MSM Grand Slam in the bottom of the ninth at the World Series with two outs and you’re down by three. He is black, a democrat, former cokehead, cheats on his wife and is handicapped. For a liberal - what the hell more can you ask for!

Acknowledging the SNL skits on Palin by stating, “SNL portrayed her as a perky little loon,” Schultz, in attempts to defend her position of not defending Palin - but defending Patterson, enlightens us with how targets of humor should be chosen…

When it comes to picking targets for humor, I am reminded of what New York Times ethics columnist Randy Cohen told me in a 2002 interview, in which he described the philosophy of his former boss, David Letterman:

"[W]e are free to attack what is volitional, but not those things over which a person has no control."

Huh… not attack someone for something over which they have no control - let’s remember that. I guess women should all have a dour mug like Schultz, lest any women showing an outgoing & positive attitude - be labeled a “perky little loon.”

In her hypocritical, politically correct, liberal puss-filled prose, Schultz claims stereotypes are harmful…

Time for a few deep breaths. The skit was tasteless and unfair, but it did not set the national agenda for the disabled. It might, however, provoke a national conversation about harmful stereotypes.

Before I hang Schultz and the PD on the “You’re a Hypocrite Hook,” I need to say this… Schultz proves why it so fun to play with liberals and Democrats – if you let them run their mouth about their “pick & choose” policies of what “Special Class” or “Flavor of the Month” ethnicity they should defend – their hypocritical bigotry usually shines through.

Schultz has stated people should not be picked on over something they have no control and stereotypes are harmful – right?

Then why no column about stereotypes being bad when her editors allowed Jeff Darcy to draw a cartoon implying that all Italians are members of the Mafia? How come no column expressing outrage when her editors published the picture & poem from Andrea Levy inferring ALL white people are racist and members of lynch mobs?

So Schultz is either A.) exposing herself as a hypocrite or B.) accusing her editors of being close-minded, hypocritical bigots. Which one is it Connie?

Ohio House Lame-Duckocrats Resist Supporting our Troops & Restoring Voting Integrity

In what many think would be a lame-duck session - it appears the House Republicans are rolling their sleeves up and getting some good legislation passed.

Passed (54-42) was a bill that would give bonuses to soldiers who served in the Persian Gulf, Iraq and Afghanistan. Pretty much a no-brainer right? Nope - the democrats are mad the Republicans want to pay for the bonuses with money that we currently have. The democrats - allergic to pay as you go - want to sell bonds.

In what would have appeared to be a bi-partisan olive branch, the Republicans offered help to SOS Brunnehilda in cleaning up the election laws she was complaining about. Plus they also wanted to restore integrity in the voting process by eliminating the "Anyone Can Vote Week" (AKA - Golden Week).

The bill would eliminate a "Golden Week" window in which citizens can register to vote and cast absentee votes at the same time. It would push the start of early voting from 35 days before the election to 20 days and require absentee voters to fully complete ballot envelope statements to be counted. Election observers would also be allowed to watch voting at all times.

House Speaker Jon Husted, a Dayton-area Republican, told reporters the bill was merely intended to implement recent Supreme Court rulings as well as clean up elections law that Brunner has said needs clarification.

But Rep. Dan Stewart, a Columbus Democrat, called the legislation "the wrong bill at the wrong time" and quoted the testimony of a handful of election law experts who all questioned why the bill should be passed now. "It's like dominoes: Everything you do then changes something else," Stewart said.

Dominoes? I agree! Once one illegally registered voter was knocked over, thousands more fell!

The "Golden Week" created chaos for county election boards. If I remember correctly - this is when Obama's nuts - ACORN - were out registering the same people 5, 6, 10, 25, 72 times! Didn't having to check, verify & reject tons of illegal voter registrations cause undue hardships on BOE's throughout Ohio? WE can only guess the added costs incurred from the extra man hours these verifications took.

So please 'splain Rep. Stewart - since nothing else is going on and it's supposed to be a lame-duck session - why is this not a good time to pass sound & sensible legislation? If now is bad - when is the time good? Is it when the dems have control of the House?

If they make it through Senate, Reverend Ted has stated he will veto the bills. So it goes business as usual for good government in Ohio - it doesn't happen!

A British prison has decided not to include a crucifix in the décor of its new chapel for fear of offending Muslim inmates.

The ‘multi-faith space’ at HMP Lewes is divided in two sections, according to the Daily Mail. One half-features heated footbaths for Muslim worshipers; the other side, dedicated to Christian prayer, features a removable altar and a plain wooden cross – also removable.

Plans to include the traditional Christian crucifix were erased from the chapel’s blueprints on the advice of a Muslim imam, the Daily Mail reported.

Here is something I didn't know.... today, December 15th, is Bill of Rights Day.

In today’s society of hustle and bustle one really doesn’t take the time to really think about what their rights are. We take these rights for granted. Just about everyone knows what the First Amendment to the Constitution is, freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly and freedom to petition the government, the Second is the right to bear arms and the Fifth Amendment is the right to trial by jury, double jeopardy, self-incrimination and due process of the law.

There is a bumper sticker that says, "If you can read this, thank a teacher". Well, if you didn't know the date of the adoption of the Bill of Rights, blame the National Education Association (NEA).

Just how many amendments are there to the Constitution? When was the original Bill of Rights ratified? How many are there? I’m sure there are some that already know that the original Bill of Rights was ratified on December 15th, 1791 and that there were 12 original Amendments in it, but only 10 of those were ratified by the states by 1791. Our Founding Fathers put great thought and planning in these original 10 Amendments and since its inception in 1791 to today there has only been 17 more added for a grand total of 27 amendments to our Constitution. These basic rights include everything from the freedom of religion to women’s right to vote to search and seizure.

The foresight of our Founding Fathers and the adoption of the Bill of Rights laid the foundation that made our victories in the legislature and courts this year possible.

On this honorable day take a few minutes to read our Bill of Rights and think how great our founding fathers were to be able to see far into the future of this Great Nation. Without this Bill of Rights we would be still living the same way as our founding fathers did before they came to this land.

Every newspaper in our state ought to be recognizing Bill of Rights Day. One can only determine that the Freedom of Speech must also include the Freedom to Not Speak.

Iranian archeologists have found that ancient inhabitants of the country's southern Darestan region used wind power in their kilns. “Being located near Lut Desert, where wind blows constantly and in fixed directions, had caused the prehistoric inhabitants of the area to use wind as a reliable source of energy,” said Darestan archeology-team director Omran Garajian.

“Experts have identified a kiln, which has been constructed in the same direction as the local winds blow. They have also found a fireplace, which seems to have worked with wind power,” Garajian explained, adding, “The structures date back to about 3500 to 3300 BC.”

“Wind power also helped increase the temperature in the kilns used for melting metals,” he added.

Darestan is located some 22 kilometers to the east of the city of Bam, which was devastated by a 6.6-magnitude earthquake in 2003.

Even if he, DeWine, would earn a salary of $1.00 - I could not agree with them more! At $245,000 a year - give me a break - he is part of the problem!

One could only hope the State Central Committee members responsible for electing the next leader of the Ohio Elephant Clan will give strong consideration about DeRINO's stated desire of moving away from our core values.

Members of the House of Representatives who approved a $14 billion cash infusion for Ford, Chrysler and General Motors on Wednesday night have received more campaign contributions, on average, from the automotive industry during their careers than those who opposed the rescue, the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics has found. The 237 who got the bill passed have received $87,063.44 on average from auto dealers, automakers and auto unions since 1989, while the 170 who voted against it received, on average, $80,756.80.

Because of the industry's Republican leanings, even Republicans who voted against lending the automakers' money Wednesday had received more money than Democrats who supported the bridge loan. Republicans' grip on the industry is loosening, however. In the 2008 cycle, the Big Three's PAC and individual contributions flipped to the side of the party that controls Congress. Auto unions remain solidly Democratic.
House Democrats, who overwhelmingly supported the bill, received 44 percent more money, on average, from automakers, unions in the industry and auto dealers since 1989--$79,303.21 compared to $54,951.30 for the 20 Democrats who voted against the bill. The bill's 32 Republican supporters collected 62 percent more than opponents in their party--$136,777.44, versus $84,197.53 for the 150 Republicans who voted against the bailout package. (The Center for Responsive Politics has coded campaign finance data by industry back to the 1990 election cycle, or the calendar year 1989.)

Overall the automotive industry has given $16.1 million to all federal candidates, parties and committees in the 2008 election cycle, with 72 percent going to Republicans. A Japanese company (Toyota) and an American company (General Motors) decided to have a canoe race on the Missouri River. Both team practiced long and hard to reach their peak performance before the race.

On the big day, the Japanese won by a mile. The Americans, very discouraged and depressed, decided to investigate the reason for the crushing defeat. A management team made up of senior management was formed to investigate and recommend appropriate action. Their conclusion was the Japanese had 8 people rowing an 1 person steering, while the American team had 8 people steering an 1 person rowing.

Feeling a deeper study was in order, American management hired a consulting company and paid them a huge amount of money for a second opinion. They advised, of course, that too many people were steering the boat and not enough people rowing.

Not sure of how to utilize that information, but wanting to prevent another loss to the Japanese, the rowing teams management structure was totally reorganized to 4 steering supervisors, 3 area steering superintendents and 1 assistant steering manager. They also implemented a new performance system that would give the 1 person rowing the boat greater incentive to work harder. It was called the 'Rowing Team Quality First Program,' with meetings, dinners, free pens and scratch pads for the rower. There was discussion of getting new paddles, canoes and other equipment and extra vacation days for practices, and bonuses.

The next year the Japanese won by two miles. Humiliated, the American management laid off the rower for poor performance, halted development of a new canoe, sold the paddles, and canceled all capital investments for the new equipment. The money saved was distributed to the Senior Executives as bonuses and the next years racing team was out-sourced to India.

Sad, but oh so true! Here's something else to think about: Ford has spent the last thirty years moving all its factories out of the US, claiming they can't make money paying American wages. Toyota has spent the last thirty years building more than a dozen plants inside the US. The last quarters results: Toyota makes 4 billion in profits while Ford racked up 9 billion in losses. Ford folks are still scratching their heads.

Despite being mentioned on the tapes of Monty Hall Blagojevich as being ungrateful, uncooperative and assorted other things, Messiah Barry mounted a ‘deny, deny, deny’ defense. Eager to cover his own ass, and only his own ass, Barry circled the wagons, very tightly.

Messiah Barry’s spine turned to jello and his nads shriveled up, when faced with this political scandal so close to home. Gutless to the core, he spouted, hard to believe, "I never met him or discussed the open senate seat with him" bull crap.

Messiah Barry’s defense hit a speed bump, when some members of the media asked inconvenient questions about David Axelrod, who is on the record as saying ‘we have met with, talked to’ the governor about Messiah Barry’s replacement. Lacking the stones to tell the truth, Messiah Barry kicked his loyal minion to the curb, forcing him to recant his prior statements.

When faced with his first major political crisis, Messiah Barry went girlie and furtive. When he should have come out swinging, saying "yes I talked to Monty Blagojevich, and I am disgusted by his pay for play politics", he turned into a gutless wonder. This is not the kind of courage we expect from a man who is going to occupy that Oval Office hot seat on January 20.

"Day without a Gay" Movement Bombed - Damn!

What could have been a truly spectacular Hetero-Holiday, a day absent of ass-packers, turned out more like a Barry Man-I-blow's failed appearance on "The View" - it didn't happen.

The "Day without a Gay" movement gained minimal support and could be considered a failure. I tried showing my support by calling in "gay" to work today.... I was told I would have to prove it with the three other guys that tried the same thing! Work went pretty good today.

Anyway, while some of the radical gay agenda sissy's supported "Day without a Gay" and didn't work today - others showed they can be who they are and do not need to force it down peoples throats....

Let’s Buy Iceland While The Price is Right

As I witness the undeniable fact that our country is being stolen from the men and women past and present that have traded countless amounts of their blood sweat and tears along with ungodly sums of personal treasure in the pursuit of the boldest endeavor to ever be embarked upon in the history of mankind. I have come to the realization that usurping the principles of the people and destroying the foundation of a governmental philosophy of a country that was developed by men greater then we, is the only goal of these individuals in congress and the tricksters of the United Nations.

A revelation has come to me. Let’s Buy Iceland, and convert this small Island Nation into the world’s foremost economic power. As I am merely the builder of roads and bridges and am not a scholar, I can only offer you the basic concepts and reasoning for such an endeavor.

I. Why Iceland

1. Because we squandered our chance at Ireland prior to that country’s implementation of a conservative business model and it’s eventual ascension to the economic leadership of Europe, Iceland will have to due.

2. They are on the brink of bankruptcy, so we can have them for pennies on the dollar.

3. Centrally located between the America’s and Europe, so that we may exploit their markets as these two regions continue to disassemble their industrial capacity.

4. They’re Vikings, they embody the American spirit albeit veiled by many years of socialist control. Plus who better to build a fleet of ships to transport merchandise than a group of hungry Vikings.

II. Why not just stick it out in America?

1. America is an idea formed in the hearts and minds of great men. A pure belief that will prosper anywhere it is planted, defended and preserved.

2. To begin the final and complete exposure of the lies that are socialism, Marxism, communism and any other "ism" perpetrated on mankind. (See: Atlas Shrugged).

3. Because these sycophants that call themselves politicians aren’t funny anymore they are downright dangerous.

4. Have you taken a look around lately and made an honest assessment of the freaks, whiners and indolent screw off’s that are roaming our countryside.

III. Concepts we can take with us that are no longer of value to these Sheeple.

1. The Constitution, this is an easy one. They’re not using any longer and it’s just barrier in the way of their construction of a land of tyrannical euphoria.

2. Our history and our heritage. It’s no longer studied, honored or evenly given a brief mention. Once we get it out of the lockbox that this country’s educatorhave it hidden in, it will be decades before they notice that it is gone.

3. Industrial freedom and self-reliance. By the results of the most recent election do you think they care for either. These are qualities reserved for men with the will and determination no longer present in our average citizen.

IV. Once the Deal is Closed

1. A government will need to be established, but this time let’s stick to the model our forefathers risked their lives to create.

2. The judicial system won’t be bogged down by social justice, frivolous lawsuits,and the Green Army. So I suggest 4 judges will suffice. Hey Clarence come on and snatched up those other three.

3. Education: well the Vikings have a 99.9% literacy rate so let’s give them a chance, but under a close watchful eye. If the focus of education deviates from the three R’s the educators will be introduces to a different set of three R’s that being row,row,row your boat gently off our dream.

4. Military: America has the greatest soldiers in the world that over the past 40 years have defended the interest of hippies that spit in their faces as they come home from defending liberty. Do you think we can get a few to defend the values of their forefathers. We should be able to purchase the best weaponsand the brilliant minds that create them once Obama guts the military the way he plans. He plans to cut some of the most advanced weapon systems known to man, sounds like the making of one hell of a deal. Hey Obama we’ll trade you that unproven missal defense system for a year’s worth of carbon credit’s if you throw in the USS Constitution. These carbon credits are extremely valuable but we can part with a few of them.

5. Industry: We can easily attract men of like minds with the simple promise of an extremely low tax rate for the sole purpose of maintaining the access roads and harbor’s needed to deliver their goods to the ends of the earth, I can think of no other responsibility that a company could possibly have to the the coffers of a nation then to pay for what it needs and uses.

6. Energy: We can simply drill off the Northeastern coast of the United States, if China can do it off the coast of Florida evidently they don’t mind. Also we can have Sarah convince the Canadians to allow a pipeline through the Northern Wilderness the way she sent one south. For energy to fuel the great industrial complex that is sure to form we will build countless nuclear power plants on t the Frozen Tundra. This will be the ideal location because the land is virtually unused and we can melt the precious glaciers to supply the cooling systems. This will serve two purposes to cool the reactors and to eliminate the threat of the glaciers melting due to Global Warming and causing the tides to rise as Al Gore has warned us.

V. For Shit’s and Giggles

1. Every court needs a jester, and we should take one liberal with us so we don’t forget what it was that ruined our great nation. And I nominate Barney Frank to be our honorary token liberal. This can not change the fact that each man will have to feed himself and have some industry that he can contribute to. Let’s be honest, a nation with ports of calls needs brothels and even though this queen can ruin the greatest economic system on earth he has a proven track record of running a profitable whore house.

I know this is a far-fetched idea and deserves no merit. But what I do believe is that it is a simple list of basic concepts that are no longer prescribed to by our elected officials. We don’t have to take our show on the road but we damn well better learn how to get these ideas across to a nation that has lost it’s way. We have allowed these degenerates on the left to commit intellectual genocide in our institutions of learning, cripple our industry, destroy our banking, and marginalize the accomplishments of our soldiers. And the worst part is we didn’t even put up a valiant fight.

We can reverse the course that these depraved maniacs have set us on. It’s going to be difficult, and it’s going to require perseverance but it will be easier the reestablishing the great system we inherited from George Washington and the Boys on a block of ice.

Proposed Cost to Snoop-Proof State of Ohio Data Bases -- $100 Million

Unless your head has been in the sand for over the past month everyone is aware of Joe the Plumber. After coming out in support of McCain in this years presidential race, Obama's minions in Ohio used state computers in attempts to dig up dirt on Joe the Plumber.

Subsequently, Gov Strickland, Obama's main man in Ohio, dolled out slaps on the hand for Family Services Director Helen Jones-Kelley and those involved. Even knowing that a rank & file employee was being set up to take the fall - he felt only slap on the hand was appropriate.

Now Ohio's tormented lawmakers, claiming there are no laws against snooping through state data bases, are trying to pass a bill that would allow any employees caught snooping to be fired.

Sound easy enough - right? Come on - we are in Ohio! The cost of this seemingly simple fix - $100 Million!

Daren Arnold, interim chief privacy officer for the state Department of Administrative Services, stunned lawmakers Tuesday with his testimony before the House State Government and Elections Committee.

Arnold's cost estimate of more than $100 million stems from language in the proposal which forces state agencies to record every time they access specific confidential information for a person.

Arnold was unable to pinpoint how much of the $100 million price tag stemmed from costs specifically imposed by the legislation compared to costs arising from a similar state executive privacy order issued by Gov. Ted Strickland in the scandal's wake. Strickland's order, however, doesn't require a log entry every time an employee accesses a database. (Plain Dealer)

This is simply incredible! Incredible that Strickland was allowed to only slap Obama supporter and donor, Family Services Director Kelly-Jones on the hand and unthinkable that she was not charged with a crime.

I do not see where all this hoopla is necessary. The women and those involved obviously broke the law and Republican lawmakers should be calling for charges to be filed instead of wasting time listening to this cock& bull $100 Million flip-off fantasy.

Once again the PD shows their double standard of bigotry & hate towards people not in a politically correct designated “special class.”

In attempts at symbolizing the Civil-Rights struggle and Barack’s impending election, the photo depicted Barack holding scissors cutting the noose from around his, the black man's, neck – as McCain and Palin were shown off to the side.

The PD just recently slams an anti-gay Ohio, but rains down showers of praise on Cleveland’s Clowncil members for their supporting a domestic registry...

Creating a domestic-partnership registry in Cleveland will hardly undo the symbolic and human damage that Ohio voters inflicted on the state when they passed a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage in 2004 -- but it would be a start.

By approving a registry that will give both same-sex and opposite-sex couples documentation they can use to navigate public and private bureaucracies, Cleveland can declare that tolerance and openness are qualities that define this community. Given the importance of creativity in the modern knowledge economy, such a welcoming message has never been more important for a city and a region....

So obviously the PD tries to portray themselves as an open-minded publication accepting of all lifestyles, races, religions and ethnicities.

He was given a "pass" by voters in 2006 after his scandal broke and re-elected - but not this time.

In light of Obama's election and the black voter turnout for him - I would say the black voters did not turn out for Jefferson because they realized he was a crook!

There was a low black voter turnout because Jefferson gave them no reason to come out and vote for him. Plus I would imagine the black voters lost faith in him. So he lost, not because of the white voters, but because he is most likely a crook and his supporters did not support him.

The black voters not coming out to vote for Jefferson is the same as a vote against him.

CCW Permit Holder Rules eased in some National Parks & Wildlife Refugees

Here is some good news for CCW Permit holders and supporters of our Second Amendment...

People will now be able to carry concealed weapons in some national parks and wildlife refuges.

The new Interior Department rules allow an individual to carry a loaded weapon in a park or wildlife refuge — but only if the person has a permit for a concealed weapon. The state where the park or refuge is located must also allow guns in parks.

The rule overturns a 25-year-old regulation that has restricted loaded guns in parks and wildlife refuges. The previous regulations required that guns be unloaded and placed somewhere that is not easily accessible, such as in a car trunk.

I would have to advise through experience. Be careful! Some 18 years ago I was driving through Bedford Metro Parks on the way home from some shooting. At the time I my FFL (Class 1) license was in good standing, I had an unloaded .380 locked in the glove box and some other cool guns in the trunk. The ammo was in a shooting bag in the backseat.

I was pulled over by a park ranger... with my hands visible, he was immediately informed there were unloaded weapons in the vehicle. He went Barney Fife Ape Shit! Little did I know - you are not allowed to even transport guns through the metroparks. Even if they are secured and being transported in a legal manner.

So you don't have to go through the time and money I wasted getting my guns back - remember - make sure to check the park you are going through allows firearms at all - even for CCW permit holders.

Two Women Sentenced to Death by Stoning in Iran

In another exhibition of Iranian humanity and Sharia law, Iran will be executing a man and two women. The charges leading to their execution are adultery, murder and drug trafficking.

They will be put to death by employing Iran's favorite past time - stoning.

Two Iranian women have been sentenced to death in the past week, one by stoning. According to a Women's Forum Against Fundamentalism in Iran (WFAFI) press release in Iran 14 women currently face execution by stoning in Iran, a punishment faced only by those accused of adultery.

According to Agence France Presse, Afsaneh R. and a man called Reza have been charged with adultery and with murder in the death of Afsaneh's husband. Afsaneh was sentenced to death under Iranian law, but since Reza is married, he was pardoned from execution and instead received 15 years in prison for murder and 100 lashes for adultery, according to the Associated Press.

The second death sentence involves a pregnant woman and her husband who have both been sentenced to execution under charges of drug trafficking. According to WFAFI, the couple has no criminal record, come from underprivileged backgrounds and do not have legal counsel.

Steaming Load #1: Arizona Governor tries to put Sheriff Joe Arpaio out of the border jumping crackdown business.

In March 2007, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s department signed an agreement with the state of Arizona’s Department of Public Safety (DPS). Under this agreement, Sheriff Joe would provide 15 officers to the state gang taskforce’s Illegal Immigration Prevention and Apprehension Co-OP Team (IIMPACT). In return for this manpower, Sheriff Joe’s department would be reimbursed 85% of the deputies’ salaries, including overtime, and associated costs.

This win-win situation hit its high water mark in February when DPS Chief Pennie Gillette-Stroud sent a message to the Sheriff’s Office commander:

In the letter, Gillette commended the sheriff's lieutenant, two sergeants and 12 deputies assigned to IIMPACT, saying their performance was "impressive" and that she looked forward to their continued partnership.

About that time, Arpaio said he received notice from the DPS that the intergovernmental agreement, which was set to expire in mid-May, would be renewed.

All signs were go as of last Wednesday, when the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors voted to accept IIMPACT money to be given to the Sheriff's Office as part of the continued contract. Arizona Republic)

It was smooth sailing for this arrangement, until May 8, when an executive order perpetrated by a border jumper loving bitch, Governor Napolitano, pulled the plug on Sheriff Joe’s funding and redirected the state’s law enforcement resources elsewhere:

A letter dated May 8 from DPS Director Roger Vanderpool told Arpaio about the new fugitive task force and invited the Sheriff's Office to take part in the operation. In the last paragraph, Vanderpool said that "limited resources" precluded the DPS from continuing its agreement with the Sheriff's Office and that "we intend to use these monies to fund needed implementation of the executive order."

The executive order directs the DPS to immediately deploy a squad to address the backlog of nearly 60,000 open felony warrants statewide, with priority on gang-related felonies and fugitives who are undocumented immigrants. (Arizona Republic)

The new ‘task force’ is bull crap that is supposed to delude Arizona’s legal denizens into thinking that the border jumper crackdown is still up and running. With her last name, I will assume the teacher is jewish. Would she think it was OK to teach about the holocaust by having jewish students stick their heads in the cafeteria ovens? Maybe she would teach the kids about handicap people by pushing little wheelchair-bound Johnny down the stairs to explain why there are handicap ramps.

ACLU accuses Ohio Highway Patrol of Racial Profiling

The asshats at the Ohio ACLU are accusing the Ohio Highway Patrol (OHP) of racial profiling on traffic stops in the Ashtabula area. It is standard operating procedure for the OHP to check immigration status on anyone they believe may be an illegal immigrant.

At issue is our highway patrol law-dogs are doing there job and refuse to stop - you can say the ACLU is just thrilled spitless about this. In fact, the ACLU has asked the OHP to stop performing immigration checks and the OHP said - NO!

"Ashtabula does have a large population of undocumented individuals and just through our normal duties, we have common contact with them and when we do, we follow our division policy," he said. "Our division policy is to contact immigration officials.

"I've met with the groups who were involved in sending us this letter and they asked us to look the other way when regarding immigration issues," he added. "We cannot do that."

Harmon ensured the ACLU that all traffic stops are due to probable cause and during those stops, they are often presented with forged identifications, which is a felony in Ohio.

"We can't look the other way," Harmon said.

How about that folks? Someone in Ohio is doing their job! Though our Public Safety Director, Henry Guzman, is a complete incompetent tool - the men patrolling our highways are proudly doing their duty.

Former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee had a message for his party's leadership, still licking its wounds after the November election, as he headed for Cincinnati on Tuesday for a book-signing session: Quit blaming others, and look at yourselves.

You hear these Republicans bragging about not raising taxes, when they've been spending out of control, racking up huge deficits and then kicking the can down the road," the former Arkansas governor told The Enquirer...

For the most part I liked Huckabee, but felt McCain was the best candidate we had that had a shot at winning. Huckabee also agrees McCain had a chance to win.

But Huckabee brings up a good point about why we lost - it is something that the rank & file have been saying for awhile... it is something our party leaders have been mouthing -- but not understanding.

Many blame the losses on social issues, like Ohio GOP Deputy Chairman Kevin DeWine, and want to water down our core belief system - but this is NOT the answer - doing the right thing is the answer. Leading like drunken sailors and not being fiscally sound, or better yet - spending like democrats - is what led to our demise...

"Republicans didn't lose because they were social conservatives," said Huckabee, a former Baptist preacher who won the Iowa caucuses in January. "They lost because they have been irresponsible with the taxpayers' money."

That fact, Huckabee said, doomed GOP nominee John McCain and Republicans running for Congress from one end of the country to the other.

"If you advertise one thing and you deliver another, people are going to start reaching for another product off the shelf," he said.

Huckabee said that while "the headwinds were strong against Republicans" in 2008, he thinks McCain had a chance until he suspended his campaign in September to return to Washington to help fashion a Wall Street bailout package. (USA Today)

I agree suspending the campaign was a big, BIG mistake. But McCain returned to fix the mess the Republicans allowed the democrats to put our country in. Again, it was a mistake, but he was cleaning up the mess we allowed.

After President-elect Barack Obama and the Democratic National Committee let a Dec. 1 deadline slip by without responding to Pennsylvania attorney Philip J. Berg's petition for writ of certiorari demanding Obama produce a legitimate birth certificate, the attorney is now filing a motion to stop Obama from taking office in January.

Berg has filed an emergency motion for immediate injunction, America's Right blogger and legal writer Jeff Schreiber reports. Berg is asking the court to stop state certification of electors to keep the Electoral College from meeting Dec. 15 and casting votes for Obama. He is also seeking to postpone the official vote count Jan. 6 until the court reaches a decision on his appeal. More...

Legitimate or not, this sounds more like a wild goose chase. I don't think Berg stands a snowball's chance in hell. Here is a link to the online petition being circulated by Berg & WND. Currently there are only 144,174 signatures.

State Controlling Board halts purchase of New Alcohol/Breath Testing Machines

I recently posted on how the State Controlling Board & board member Senator John Carey, a Republican from Jackson County, felt deceived and mislead by Strickland’s point man, Michael Dolan, of the Ohio Lotto and Keno gambling.

Again, Carey and the board are having issues with some of Strickland’s’ schleps.

At issue this time are the new breathalyzer machine’s to be purchased by the state. After the State Controlling board approved $6.4 million for the purchase of 700 breath testing machines, the wheels came off and the Controlling Board put the approval on hold...

"I'm not pointing fingers at anybody, but I think the process somehow got tangled and we need to get more answers," said board member Sen. John Carey, a Jackson County Republican, who asked that a final decision be delayed at least two more weeks.

The board took the unusual step of allowing more than an hour of testimony from the Ohio Department of Public Safety and the health department -- two agencies defending the out-of-state contract -- before unanimously agreeing to take up the issue again on Dec. 15.

Controlling Board President Joe Secrest said he could not recall when the board has pulled back on an item it had already approved, much less allow testimony from parties urging the board to approve an expenditure. (PD)

At issue is the company making the machines, CMI, Inc., of KY has long time ties with the official from the Ohio Public Safety & Health Dept. who wrote the criteria for the purchase. Out of 17 companies that tried for the no-bid contract – CMI, Inc. ended up being the only one qualified. Pretty much the same way Cuyahoga County did with the questionable purchase of E.S. & S. voting machines earlier this year.

Also a concern is information uncovered by the Plain Dealer showing the accuracy of the Intoxilyzer 8000 is being challenged in thousands of drunk driving cases in the states of FL, AZ & MN. The company refuses to cooperate in any of these proceedings and in some instances cases are being dismissed.

The PD points out that some other disturbing items were uncovered in this testimony...

It was also revealed Monday that the state missed a deadline earlier this year for spending the money -- a three-year federal grant awarded in 2005 -- and nearly lost it.

Joshua Engel, chief legal counsel for the public safety department, acknowledged that the state had failed to spend the money within a time frame set by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Public safety Director Henry Guzman asked the NHTSA to reinstate the funds and allow the state an extension until September 2009 to spend it, which was granted. Guzman told the NHTSA that he would have the machines approved, state-sanctioned and a few purchased by May -- which means the state is again behind schedule. (emphasis added)

That Strickland selected Guzman to be Public Safety Director in the first place was just mind-boggling.

This is the same Henry Guzman who was the blind mouse in charge of over-seeing minority participation on contracts for the Hopkins Airport Runway expansion. This project was wrought with mind-blowing incompetence and corruption. The project is currently under federal investigation for a wide range of minority contract violations.

In May of this year, the selection of Guzman as Public Safety Director proved to be questionable when he had the whole Ohio State Highway Patrol in disarray...

Gov. Ted Strickland on Monday announced a new $640 million state budget gap, the third deficit this budget cycle, and said the next two-year budget could be as much as $7.3 billion in the red. (WLWT).

It is pretty much certain that Daddy Obama will open up our check book and dole out some cash which will be used as another excuse for his proposed stimulus plan of unknown proportions. And again - Obama has no idea how he will pay for these handouts either.

Gov. Ted Strickland's administration is proving thrifty -- with facts.

At issue is Controlling Board approval May 5 of an $18 million contract given GTech Holdings, the Ohio Lottery's longtime lead contractor, for Keno equipment. Some Republicans argued that Ohio law didn't allow the lottery to expand via Keno. The Controlling Board, 4-3 Republican, is checkpoint for unbid contracts.

The board's Republicans split, so it voted 5-2 to give GTech the contract. But as the Associated Press has revealed, what the board didn't know May 5, because Lottery Director Michael A. Dolan didn't announce it until May 12, was that the lottery was replacing GTech as lead lottery contractor with a rival, Intralot. That fact might have helped foes stall Keno by raising the specter of incompatible equipment, said Rep. Jay Hottinger, a Republican member of the Controlling Board.

According to a Strickland spokesman, Dolan didn't hoodwink the Controlling Board because "the question was not asked" and because, as of May 5, Intralot's contract was not a done deal. And a lottery spokeswoman has said that "virtually all the equipment will be reusable."

Republican Sen. John Carey, a Controlling Board member who voted for the Keno contract, stopped short of saying he felt deceived.

But taxpayers should ask: What's wrong with frankness? If Strickland's aides act this way when the Controlling Board is 4-3 GOP, what timed-release revelations will Ohioans see after Jan. 1, when Democrats run Ohio's House, and the board will be 4-3 Democrat?

Didn't hoodwink? OK he convienently skirted around the issue. he purposely misrepresented the facts. Facts that would have obviously caused other Controlling Board members to possibly change their vote. Knowing they were in negotiations with Intralot and NOT informing the board shows a complete breach of public trust and is lacking in any sense of duty on Dolan's part.

What they did is no differant than a parent asking their kid if they snort coke and the kid answers no. Since he only smokes crack - technically he is not lying.

Clinton's appointment to Secretary of State shows No Sign of Change

The constitutional quandary arises from a clause that forbids members of the Senate from being appointed to civil office, such as the secretary of state, if the "emoluments," or salary and benefits, of the office were increased during the senator's term.

The second clause of Article 1, Section 6, of the Constitution reads, "No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been increased during such time; and no Person holding any Office under the United States, shall be a Member of either House during his Continuance in Office."

During Clinton's current term in the Senate, the salary for Cabinet officers was increased from $186,600 to $191,300. Since the salary is scheduled to again be raised in January 2009, not only Clinton but all sitting Senate members could be considered constitutionally ineligible to serve in Obama's Cabinet. More...

The article notes there are ways to get around this. When Tricky Dick appointed Senator William Saxbe in 1973, Nixon convinced the Senate to reduce Saxbe's salary below the amount it was when he voted to increase it 1969.

This maneuver is not strange to the Clintons - Bush #1 also did it for Bill Clinton by appointing Sen. Lloyd Bentsen to serve as his treasury secretary.

Officials in Boston have unveiled a proposal to build a national institute focused on the U.S. Senate and Kennedy's legacy. Kennedy has even won honors from the governments of Mexico and Chile.

The highest-profile event was to come Monday afternoon, with Harvard University set to bestow an honorary degree....

Harvard says the honor recognizes Kennedy's "lifelong commitment to public service and his tireless efforts as a champion for a range of social issues," including health care, civil rights, labor, the environment and education. Barack fills transition team with Contributors, Bundlers and Lobbyists

Well, well, it looks like President-elect Barack Ochange isn't changing much at all when it comes to doing business in DC - like he claimed he would be.

Open Secrets is in the process of reviewing Barack's transistion team and to date they have uncovered some very disturbing trends for a man that ran on the mantra of change. Below is the article and some of their findings - along with a link for the data bases they are creating.

Members of Barack Obama's transition team weren't necessarily selected solely on their résumés and expertise--some may have scored positions over similarly qualified individuals because they supported the president-elect by bundling money for his presidential campaign or opening their own wallets to him. And although Obama prohibits registered lobbyists from making financial contributions to his transition, influence peddlers past and present are showing up on the team that's building the foundation for the next administration.

The Obama transition office recently announced nearly 400 individuals who have been dispatched to review the workings of federal agencies. Our researchers here at the Center for Responsive Politics are working to match these individuals to our databases of contributors, bundlers and lobbyists.

Check out the full list of names, along with tallies of their campaign contributions and links to their profiles in our Lobbying, Revolving Door and Bundler databases here. Here's a summary of what we've found:

$824,155: Minimum total that transition team members contributed to Obama's campaign and to joint fundraising committees formed to support his election. Like figures below, this amount may well be higher. Lacking more than just a name for many team members, CRP has not been able to match everyone to our databases.

$3,869.27: Average contribution to Obama and joint fundraising committees from those on the transition team who contributed to the president-elect this election cycle. Supporters were limited to giving $4,600 directly to Obama since the start of 2007 but could give additional money to the Democratic party.

56: Percent of all announced transition team members who contributed to Obama or a joint fundraising committee supporting his candidacy.

$2 million: Total amount that donating transition team members gave to Democratic candidates and committees this cycle.

$7,977.04: Average contribution that donating transition team members gave to all federal candidates, parties and committees this election cycle. Any individual could give up to $108,200 this election cycle. The percentage of Americans who give even $200 to federal politics is less than one-half of 1 percent.

6: Number of team members who, apparently, didn't give money to any Democratic party committee or candidate, including Obama, but contributed to Republicans or other parties.

23: Number of transition team leaders who are, or have been since 1998, federally registered lobbyists. Seven of them were registered lobbyists as of the start of this year. Obama has prohibited currently registered lobbyists from working on his transition team in fields of policy on which they've tried to influence Congress in the last year. They're also required to stop all lobbying activity during their transition
work.

14: Number of transition team members who raised at least $50,000 for Obama's campaign. Every one of these bundlers also gave at least $2,300 to Obama out of his or her own pocket.

$2.8 million: Minimum total amount bundled by members of the transition team.

Everything, according to a Siberian-American Korrectnik Egghead (she's an English Professor at a notoriously Korrect Ivory Tower, Univ. of California, Riverside), Michelle Raheja:
