United States Sanctuary City List 2009

I received an email from fellow Bedford resident and good friend, Steve Salvi, who is founder of the Ohio Jobs & Justice PAC. OJJ PAC has just completed updating their Sanctuary City list for the United States.

Of course, Mexifornia leads all the states with 30 Sanctuary Cities. Here in OH, we only have four -- Columbus, Lima, Oberlin & Painesville.

Click here for a complete list of all the Sanctuary Cities in the US.

Ohio Hunting Groups spend over $1 Million in Conservation Programs

All too often hunters get a bad rap. Between the anti-gun crowd, PETA, and the gazillion other tree-hugging groups out there - someone always has it in for hunters. Besides being stereotyped by these groups as cretins, knuckle-draggers, and killers, etc... they often send members to disrupt hunting activities. The anti-gun groups - attack our guns, PETA would rather see an animal starve then being taken under legal methods and the tree-huggers want any and all stand of trees/forests off-limits for hunting so they can go hiking or bird watching.

Many hunters (and it is true) will tell you WE are some of the biggest conservationists around and groups like Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever put their money where their mouth is. As a former member of Pheasants Forever, a gun-dog owner ( English Springer Spaniel & English Setter), and an avid upland bird/waterfowl hunter, articles like this make me proud...

For the third consecutive year, Ohio's Pheasants Forever (PF) and Quail Forever (QF) chapters have surpassed the $1 million mark in expenditures, spending $1,066,731 on the organization's wildlife habitat mission in 2008.

During the year, Ohio chapters completed 949 habitat projects impacting 6,001 acres; planted 18,685 trees and shrubs for winter cover; engaged 1,224 youth in mentor hunts, 487 youth in target shooting, 194 youth in conservation camp and 2,563 youth in other related outdoor events; issued $1,510 in sponsoring educational workshops and offered 18 scholarships for $4,550. Additionally, a 90-acre property in Union County became the second property in the nation donated to PF/QF's Forever Land Trust, and a pilot program in northwest Ohio called the Ohio Upland Habitat Initiative (OUHI) was launched to focus habitat funding in a specific focus area.

Ohio has 36 PF/QF chapters accounting for 6,100 members statewide. Those chapters have spent more than $7.5 million to complete over 15,000 habitat projects. Those projects have benefited 123,000 acres for wildlife.
Combined with the above conservation efforts, many of the wildlife groups offer opportunities and educational programs for children to experience the outdoors and teach them about something other than video games. It is because of groups like these and through their work with ODNR that the wildlife populations in OH all up and down the food chain have soared.

It is because of all this work - I don't think a true value can be put on groups like PF & QF. So if you are a tree-hugger, an anti-gun nut or a PETA member - next time you see a hunter go hug him. If it wasn't for him - you would have less animals to protect and less trees to hug.

Steaming Load of the Week Award -- School district takes a dump on America’s veterans

Steaming Load of the Week

Steaming Load #1: School district takes a dump on America’s veterans.

Worried that the Veterans Day holiday was a complete mystery to their captive student audience, the school board in District 300 (Carpentersville, Illinois) made a command decision to resolve the issue. How? You’re going to be thrilled.

Instead of using this ‘confusion’ as a teachable moment, the school board gave our fighting men and women, past, present and future, the finger by eliminating Veterans Day as an official school holiday. Instead of spending some quality time, teaching the students about the sacrifices our veterans made for our liberty, the school board took a dump on every warrior who put on a uniform, picked up weapon, and went in arm’s way to defend this nation conceived in liberty.

Local veterans groups think this is spiffy, because Veterans Day is an observance, not a holiday. No argument, but this still sticks in our craw, because this change puts the wrong message in those young minds full of mush. It tells them that Veterans Day is no different than any other ‘observance’. It puts the service, the sacrifice, of our warriors on the same level as ‘gay pride day’, ‘black history month’ or ‘armless Albanian albino appreciation day’. It makes the students think that vets are just another group of yahoos clamoring for some ‘undeserved’ attention. Here, in the Free State of PIG, that turd won’t float.

In the Free State of PIG, we think Veterans Day deserves more than ‘business as usual’. Our veterans are special and we need to do more to salute them in our nation’s cess-schools, then squeeze a few relevant sentences into the lesson plan.

This turd stinks and needs to be flushed. Give the kids their holiday from class, then put them in a bus and drive them to the nearest veterans cemetery, where they can get up close and personal with the ultimate sacrifice our vets paid for our liberty...

Girlieman of the Week Award -- Yusef Evans

From Politically Incorrect Gazette --

Girlieman of the Week
Date Awarded: January 30, 2009

Girlieman: Yusuf Evans
Girlie Antics: Relentless caterwauling

Yusuf Evans is the kind of gutless wonder who needs to grow a pair so he can ‘man up’. For the past year, he as been blubbering, whining, whimpering and generally acting like a complete pussy, because he got a boo-boo while visiting an Akron (Ohio) booty parlor named XTC Nightclub.

His boo-boo happened while he was pretending to be a man, for the sake of his cousin, who had come to pay pussy punk, Yusuf, a visit.

Evans says, while performing a dance move, a stripper's shoe flew off her foot and smacked him in the face. "She ran, at a nice speed, grabbed the pole and flung her whole body around, all her weight flung like that in a circle around the pole and her boot flew off and it hit me in my nose", explained Evans, who filed a civil lawsuit on Tuesday in Summit County Common Pleas Court. (Fox)

The stripper’s platform shoe made pussy punk double over, drop like a panty-wearing stone, and start caterwauling. He admits to hollering for ‘ten minutes’, but, based on his ensuing antics, he’s still caterwauling a year later.

"I can’t breathe out of one side of my nose."

"I need surgery."

"I’m such a complete pussy punk that I’m afraid of surgery."

"I want $25,000 to make the boo-boo all better."

Whine, whine, whine. For being such a complete and utter pussy punk...for being such a gutless wonder that he gives other Girliemen a bad name...for his incessant caterwauling, Yusuf Evans is the Politically Incorrect Gazette’s Girlieman of the Week.

[PIG thanks our friend King for nominating pussy punk for PIGish abuse.]

Iran - 1 / Barack - 0

Well this went as good as anyone with a half-a-brain (me) could have told you. Allowing his Capt. Obama superhero size ego get in the way of good policy - Barack failed miserably in his first international act of idiocy.

From Al-Jazeera --

We welcome change but on condition that change is fundamental and on the right track," Ahmadinejad said.

"When they say 'we want to make changes', change can happen in two ways. First is a fundamental and effective change ... The second ... is a change of tactics.

"It is very clear that, if the meaning of change is the second one, this will soon be revealed."

Continuing on the theme of "change", Ahmadinejad said: "Those who say they want to make change, this is the change they should make: they should apologise to the Iranian nation and try to make up for their dark background and the crimes they have committed against the Iranian nation."

Ahmadinejad also accused Washington of trying to stifle Iran's economic development since the 1979 Islamic revolution.

"Who has asked them [the United States] to come and interfere in the affairs of nations?" he said, while calling on the US to withdraw its troops from the Middle East.

Maybe we could call this the "Iranian Bitch Slap" heard around the world.

NYC Nanny Bloomberg's War On Salt

This is incredible! I swear - it feels as if after Inauguration Day we are under attack from every nit-witted idea the liberal loons have ever contrived.

Now, the new self-appointed "Fat Czar," the Nanny of New Dork City, Michael Bloomberg, will be trying to blackmail the food industry into reducing salt content in food by 50% over the next 10 years.

From WCBS-TV
The mayor is waging a war on salt and he wants food manufacturers and restaurants to join his army … or else.

The city's plan is to get food manufacturers in the United States to agree to gradually start reducing salt content until it reaches a 50 percent cut in 10 years.

This is just Mayor Bloomberg's latest health initiative, following on the heels of a smoking ban, a ban on trans fats and forcing restaurants to post the calorie contents.

Thomas Frieden, the city's health commissioner, said he wants manufacturers and restaurants to join the war on salt voluntarily. If they don't, the city could pass legislation making it the law. More...

Everyone scoffs when some people bring up the slippery slope theory. Well, WTF is this? Not only does Nanny Bloomberg want to impose this on New Dork City - but also the rest of the US.

Where does it end? Government approved menus?

Senator Chris Dodd & his Banking Buddies

A little about the man who told us Freddie & Fannie were doing fine...

From Open Secrets --

Name: Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.)

Position: Although Dodd is chair of one of the more powerful congressional committees, he probably isn't the envy of his peers these days with an economic crisis growing larger by the day. Dodd has put in two years as chair of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs and is now charged with shaping legislation to jump-start the economy and help floundering companies. His committee oversees the nation's financial institutions, housing and mass transit programs. Although he hasn't spent much time as chair, he's been in Congress for more than three decades.

Money Summary: Dodd has raised a total of $43.1 million since 1989 and has spent $43.2 million. His large war chest can be attributed, in part, to his presidential bid in 2008, which he abandoned after receiving less than 1 percent of the vote in the Iowa caucus that kicked off the primary season. He raised $18 million total in his attempt to win the White House. Overall, he's received 62 percent of his contributions from individuals (rather than the political action committees of unions and corporations) and is a popular Wall Street target, collecting $5.2 million from donors in New York, more than any other metro area. He's given other lawmakers and candidates 23 percent of the total $2.3 million that his leadership PAC, Chris PAC, has raised since the 2004 election cycle.

Campaigns Donors: Not surprisingly, Dodd's most generous sector is finance, insurance and real estate, which is filled with companies that are directly affected by legislation that comes out of the Banking Committee. The finance, insurance and real estate sector has given Dodd a total of $13.2 million since 1989, distantly followed by lawyers and law firms, which have given $3.7 million. The securities and investment industry, real estate industry, insurance companies, commercial banks, accountants and finance and credit companies all rank among his top 20 industry donors. In 2008, Dodd was among the top five recipients of money in the Senate from 21 industries, many of which are finance-related. He has received more money from hedge funds over time than all but two other lawmakers ($761,250), and expressed concern over a bill in 2007 that would have increased taxes on private-equity firms and hedge fund managers. Hedge funds are a big industry in Connecticut, his home state.

Dodd's most generous donors include many of the companies that have filed for bankruptcy or sought government help over the last six months: Citigroup $428,300), Morgan Stanley ($211,300), American Insurance Group ($280,250) and Lehman Brothers ($154,300). Despite the companies' support, when the Senate was called on this month to release the second half of the $700 billion bailout money, Dodd called for stronger oversight provisions and limits on executive compensation for the companies receiving a handout.

Not all of Dodd's supporters come from Wall Street, however. Lobbyists, pharmaceutical companies and health professionals also rank among his most generous industries. During the race for the White House, the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) endorsed Dodd and spent $202,300 independently to see him win. Dodd has sponsored bills to provide more funding to fire stations for equipment, training and staff.

Industry Favors: "No lawmaker has done more for firefighters in this nation than Chris Dodd," said Jeff Zack, spokesman for the IAFF. "Every time firefighters in this country say they need something, he's stood up and said 'I'm with you,' and he has not only said 'sign me on,' he's said 'let me write the bill.'"

Invests in: Compared to the rest of the Senate, Dodd is middle class. In 2007 he was worth between $629,019 and $2.1 million, ranking him 56th among all senators. At that time he had at least $100,001 invested in Blockbuster and drug makers Cardiome Pharma Corp. and Javelin Pharmaceuticals.

Other Money Matters: When mortgage buyers Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were in dire financial straits last year and seeking help from the government, Dodd came under some fire for having received more money from the two companies' employees and political action committees than any other lawmaker over time, at $133,900. Dodd helped push through a rescue plan for the two companies last year, including better regulatory oversight in the measure.

In His Own Words: "This is not a time to be panicking about this. These are viable, strong institutions," Dodd said of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac at a press conference in July 2008, when the federal government came to the rescue of the institutions. "These two are fundamentally, fundamentally strong. There's no reason for the kind of reaction we're getting."

Business is Booming for some in Poor Economy

It looks like there is one industry that is not being as negatively affected by our poor economy as others. In fact, while 2008 was there best year yet – they are expecting a banner year in 2009…

From USA Today --
Despite the sharp economic downturn, lobbying spending in the nation's capital surged past $3 billion last year as industries and special-interest groups wooed Congress and federal agencies on a host of issues, including taxpayer bailouts for financial companies and automakers.

The record $3.3 billion lobbying price tag is up from $2.9 billion in 2007 and is more than double what was spent four years ago, according to records compiled by the non-partisan CQ MoneyLine.

Lobbying could soar to higher levels this year, he said, as Congress and President Obama hash out a $825 billion stimulus package that seeks to jump-start the economy with tax cuts and spending.

A wise man once told me - the "P" in politician can also spell prostitute - it looks like he is right again!

The Congressional Black Caucus is RACIST!

How's this for transcending color?

An interview was conducted with Obama's chief spokeman, Robert Gibbs, by WND correspondent Les Kinsolving about the race requirement for joining the exclusive Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) and the remarks made by Rep. William Lacy Clay (D-MO).

To date, three Congressman, Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA), Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn) and Rep. Anh ("Joseph") Cao (R-LA) have been denied membership into this exclusively racist club because they were - "judged solely on the color of their skin and not the content of their character". -For some odd reason - I swear the current members CBC have heard these words before.

From WND --
Kinsolving continued, "Since the members of Congress who have applied to join the Congressional Black Caucus have been turned down because, as the black caucus' William Lacey Clay put it, 'they are white and the caucus is black...'

Kinsolving reported Clay said, "Mr. Cohen asked for admission, and he got his answer. He's white and the caucus is black. It's time to move on. We have racial policies to pursue and we are pursuing them, as Mr. Cohen has learned. It's an unwritten rule. It's understood."

...Clay later issued an official statement from his office: "Quite simply, Rep. Cohen will have to accept what the rest of the country will have to accept – there has been an unofficial congressional white caucus for over 200 years, and now it's our turn to say who can join the 'the club.' He does not, and cannot, meet the membership criteria, unless he can change his skin color. Primarily, we are concerned with the needs and concerns of the black population, and we will not allow white America to infringe on
those objectives." More...

On Inauguration Day we heard how "white people need to start doing right," then we hear Obama's administration does not want the stimulus money going to white construction workers or professionals because that would not be fair.

What do you think the reaction would have been if Bush said, "Blacks need to start doing the right thing and stop having illegitimate children, selling drugs & being criminals"?

We can clearly see the - "our day has come" mentality has taken over the White House. Will Barack, our racially confused President, allow this to become a "we're getting ours" presidency and show us 'victimhood at its' finest' or will he keep his campaign promises and transcend race?

The latter does not seem likely.

Blago Fundraiser gave to Obama, Biden & Je$$e Jr.

This raises a couple questions...

Was Obama's Senate seat being put up for sale by Blago or was somebody looking to buy it for Je$$e Jr.?

From Open Secrets --
Although it's unclear to what extent businessman Raghuveer Nayak was involved in Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich's alleged scheme to sell President Obama's Senate seat, what is clear is Nayak's commitment to funding the campaigns of the governor, the new president, the new vice president and others in Congress and the administration. Investigators are reportedly probing whether Blagojevich tried to get $500,000 from Nayak to secure the seat for Illinois Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., whose brother was a business partner of Nayak's. In total, Nayak has given $220,300 to federal lawmakers and committees, 93 percent of which has gone to Democrats, the Center for Responsive Politics has found.

Jackson has received more money from Nayak at the federal level than any other lawmaker since 1989, at $22,600. Nayak was a seemingly close associate of Jesse Jackson Sr., according to the Washington Post, and joined him in civil rights causes, sat on the board of one of his organizations and accompanied him on a trip to New Delhi in 2007. Although Nayak only gave Blagojevich $500 during the governor's time in Congress, he has been one of Blagojevich's top fundraisers for state office, the Post reported. Nayak has been a pervasive donor, especially to Illinois lawmakers, which now gives him a connection to some of the top politicians in the country. He and his wife, Anita, have given Obama $19,800 since the 2004 election cycle, more than any other recipient but Jackson. They also gave $2,500 to former Illinois Rep. Rahm Emanuel, who is now White House Chief of Staff.

Click here for a list of Nayiks federal campaign contributions. 7 out of the top 10 were IL Democrats.

Bush issued orders protecting Obama's Illegal Immigrant Aunt

This is for all the Bush bashers out there. President Bush issued orders forbidding ICE from arresting then President-elect Obama's aunt, Zeituni Onyangoan, an illegal immigrant, during the election.

Obama's Aunt who has been living here illegally for the last 9 years in government subsidized housing was ordered to leave the country 4 years ago and refused.

From ALIPAC --
The Homeland Security Department still is requiring high-level approval before federal immigration agents can arrest fugitives, a rule quietly imposed by the Bush administration days before the election of Barack Obama, whose aunt has been living in the United States illegally.

The unusual directive from the Homeland Security Department came amid concerns that such arrests might generate "negative media or congressional interest," according to a newly disclosed federal document obtained by The Associated Press.

The directive is still in place, Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman Kelly Nantel told the AP. It originally was distributed Oct. 31 by e-mail to immigration officers by an assistant director at the agency. Obama was elected president five days later. Nantel said the directive called for close supervision over any cases that could be high profile. She said it was not specific to Obama's relatives.

Obama will have Direct Talks with Iran

Barack is a fool!

From Al-Jazeera

The US ambassador to the United Nations has said the new Obama administration will engage in "direct diplomacy" with Iran.

Susan Rice said at UN that the US remained "deeply concerned" about Tehran's nuclear programme and that the issue remained a top priority for the White House.

"We look forward to engaging in vigorous diplomacy that includes direct diplomacy with Iran," she said after meeting Ban Ki-moon, the UN secretary-general, on Monday. More...

While something does need to be done with Iran - direct talks is not the answer. We are not even close to be in a position where we, the US, should be having talks with Iran.

At this point in time, especially with the recent events in Gaza, the US should let events play out with the Arab players in the region. The risk of failure with Iran negotiations will weaken us in Iraq and Afghanistan - not to mention the radical Islamists.

In this instance and at this time, a stalemate or even the appearance of Iranian aloofness of this invitation will be turned into a propaganda victory for Iran. When there is a victory of any sort for Iran, it is also a victory for radical Islam.

And yes, Russia will also be watching and waiting. By prematurely and openly extending a hand - Barack has set himself and the United States up for failure.

Barack ONixon Already Crying About Media

I almost fell over when I read the loons over at the Huffington Post were also in a huff about Obama's pick of Bill Lynn for deputy defense secretary. Lynn was a lobbyist for defense contractor Raytheon.

Again renigging on a promise, this one being his promise of no lobbyists in his Cabinet, Obama's integrity with the Obamacrats is starting to nose dive. They also take issue with his baby-like antics in refusing to answer a reporters question...

From Huffington Post --
Yesterday, President Barack Obama decided to pay a visit to the White House Press Corps in their batcave where they gather under the warmth of flipcams and dream of carving up White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs for sustenance. The meet and greet -- which Obama held ostensibly to pay a friendly visit, learn the names of various reporters, and field questions about basketball -- was going according to plan, for about three minutes. That's when the Politico's Jonathan Martin suddenly did some journalism, ensuring that the President would learn at least one reporter's name.

From there, total buzzkill! An "irritated" (as some observers interpret) Obama said, "I came down here to visit. See this is what happens. I can't end up visiting with you guys and shaking hands if I'm going to get grilled every time I come down here."

Still, props to Martin, because as questions go, "How do you reconcile Bill Lynn?" is an exceedingly fine one!

On the job not even a week and he is already crying the media is against him. Poor little baby Barack! Maybe we could see another Herman Munster like tantrum where he can jump up and down stomping his feet screaming - "I Won, I Won, I Won"

US Navy intercepts Iranian Arms bound for Gaza Strip

The best thing that could happen for Iran is if the fragile cease-fire in the Gaza Strip fails. The sooner it fails - the better off they are. Fortunately for Israel and the residents of Gaza the US Navy is offering our support.

From WND --
The U.S. Navy is conducting covert operations aimed at intercepting Iranian ships carrying weapons to rearm Hamas in the Gaza Strip, informed defense officials told WND.

The U.S. Navy refused to comment, but informed sources said the U.S. last week intercepted an Iranian-owned vessel found to be carrying weapons, including rockets, mortar and artillery shells. It is suspected the ship was attempting to reach the Egyptian Sinai area. If successful, the delivery would have represented a major escalation by providing Hamas with artillery, something the terrorist organization is not thought to possess.

Last week, WND broke the story of Egyptian troops undergoing training in Texas on the use of American military technology to uncover Hamas' weapons smuggling tunnels. A top Egyptian intelligence official told WND the Egyptian troops arrived in Texas in recent days, where they have been undergoing private courses on the use of proprietary, secretive U.S. technology that makes use of sonar and certain frequencies to locate underground tunnels along the Egypt-Gaza border. More...

Pretty ironic for how hated our country is by countries in the Middle East - yet they always look for our help.

Summit County Puts Confiscated Drug Money to Good Use

Now here is a great way to deal with the deadbeat drug dealers that father kids like rabbits and don't support them...

From the PD --
Jason Rushin was arrested Oct. 8 on felony drug charges and police seized $1,379. He pleaded guilty Dec. 1 to possession of cocaine and driving with a suspended license.

Rushin was sentenced to eighteen months of probation and the seized cash was turned over to the Summit County Child Support Enforcement Agency. Rushin's child's caregiver received the money, but prosecutors say he still owes $21,735. He was convicted of felony nonsupport in 2005.

Senator Jim DeMint: The DeMint Jobs Plan

Senator DeMint insightfully points out the why the pork-filled stimulus bill, as proposed, will NOT be the long-term solution we need.

From Net Right Nation --

No matter what President Barack Obama and the Democratic Congress put in their still-unfinished economic stimulus bill, there is a strong chance this recession will persist. The president knows this, and he also knows that his honeymoon with the American people will not endure too many months of bankruptcies, foreclosures and rising unemployment. Thus, his request for Republican help in crafting at least part of the stimulus bill is not only magnanimous and statesmanlike, but also extremely clever. Should the bill fail to revive the economy, its bipartisan character would inoculate the new president from sole responsibility for what Republicans could otherwise brand “The Obama Recession.”

But if the stimulus package Obama signs into law is anything like the draft recently reported in the media, long-term economic pain will indeed be on his hands. Last week, word leaked that Team Obama’s package would total $775 billion, including $300 billion in tax relief. That $300 billion is the bait Obama hopes will lure congressional Republicans to vote in favor of the stimulus package, and thus share responsibility for its potential failure. A close look at the details of the proposed tax cuts, however, exposes the president’s strategy as short-sighted, artificial and insubstantial: junk food for our starving economy. We don’t need another check-in-the-mail debacle, business credits that expire after a single year or special-interest corporate welfare.

Republicans who embrace these ineffectual tax cuts will deserve the inevitable consequences they suffer at the polls. Conservatives need to snap out of their November blues: We lost an election, after all, not our minds. It’s not too much to ask that the largest economic stimulus bill in history actually stimulate the economy.

Certainty about the future is essential for economic growth, and the current recession will be prolonged if we continue to allow the government to arbitrarily and unpredictably intervene in the private marketplace. Republicans should insist on predictable, long-term tax relief. I believe the two-part strategy put forth by economists J.D. Foster and William Beach of the Heritage Foundation is exactly what our economy needs right now.

First, we must protect the fragile economy from the massive tax hikes coiled to spring on us in 2011, when the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts expire. Extending those rate reductions at least to 2013 will provide the economy with the long-term stability and predictability necessary to encourage new hiring and investment, consumer spending and entrepreneurial risk-taking.

Once the 2011 tax bomb is disarmed, we should take the next logical step and lower marginal tax rates across the board on individuals, small businesses and corporations. Our plan will call for a 10-percentage-point cut in the top rate (from 35 percent to 25 percent) and comparable reductions for the lower brackets —reductions to be maintained also through 2013 at least.

These tax cuts would soften the recession and expedite the recovery to the tune of 500,000 new jobs in 2009 and 1 million new jobs in 2010 and surpass by 2012 the president’s stated goal of 3.5 million new jobs.

On the other hand, any jobs created by government make-work programs will be slow to arrive, quick to disappear again, fewer than promised and minimally stimulative to the broader economy as they largely substitute government-based jobs for true private-sector jobs. Remember, 10 years into the Great Depression — 10 years of predatory tax increases, relentless New Deal “recovery” spending (not to mention overwhelming Democratic congressional majorities) — unemployment remained above 20 percent.

The cost of our plan will be substantial, $670 billion over five years, but unlike the $775 billion in new federal spending and the now-you-see-’em-now-you-don’t gimmicks in the current stimulus bill, broad-based tax rate cuts will create a more predictable business climate. Long-term corporate, small business and family tax relief will work. John F. Kennedy’s 1963 tax reductions led to 9 million new private-sector jobs in five years. Ronald Reagan’s 1981 tax cuts led to 7 million in the same period. Five years on, the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts have created 6 million new jobs.

Meanwhile, all four of these long-term tax cuts spurred the creation of a broader tax base and ultimately higher federal revenues — no small point considering this year’s projected $1.2 trillion deficit works out to approximately $16,000 of new debt for every child in America to pay back.

If Obama is serious about wanting a truly bipartisan bill that creates jobs and ignites economic growth, he can prove it this month by including in his package the proven stimulus of long-term, across-the-board tax relief. And if Republicans are serious about winning back the trust of the American people and leading our nation through these difficult times, we can prove it by demanding he do just that.

Mr. DeMint, a Republican, represents South Carolina in the U.S. Senate.

Obama launches first salvo of attacks against 2nd Amendment

The guys over at Buckeye Firearms warned everyone about the immediate attacks that could be expected on the 2nd Amendment when Obama was elected. Many of the MSM pundits told the "mouth agape in awe" Obamaites, like the redneck, gun-clinging idiots in PA, that Obama woud do no such thing. At least not in his first term.

Well guess what - you 2nd Amendment supporting idiots that voted for Obama - he lied again!

From Buckeye Firearms --

Within minutes of being sworn in yesterday, Obama posted a new White House website announcing the administration's declaration of war on American gun owners.

Tucked away in the section on "Urban Policy," under the header "Crime and Law Enforcement,"
the White House website now states:

Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade.

Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent.

We warned you of this. And now it's official. Here's what it really means.

The new administration plans to:

  • reinstate and expand the federal Assault Weapons Ban

  • repeal the Tiahrt Amendment and allow anti-gun activists to sue gun dealers and manufacturers out of existence

  • mandate criminal background checks for ALL firearm transfers, including private transactions

  • force gun manufacturers to include unproven and astronomically expensive "child-safe" features on newly-manufactured firearms

This is NOT just a national concern. This will be a battle that we will fight here in Ohio as well. The gun-grabbers have waited for this moment for years. And we need to be ready.

Being a former holder of an FFL license - I see no problem with private transactions also being subject to criminal background checks. Everything else is nothing short of the first attack from this administration on our 2nd Amendment rights - and it is only his first week!

To help support our 2nd Amendment rights and to keep close tabs on the antics being pulled got to Buckeye Firearms.

Man sues Strip Club over Flying Shoe

About the only thing you can do about this one is laugh...

From Fox 8 News --
A northeast Ohio man who was smacked in the nose by a stripper's platform-style shoe is suing a nightclub for $25,000 over injuries he says will require surgery.

Yusuf Evans says he wanted to entertain his cousin, who had come to visit from out of town, so he took him and a friend to the XTC Nightclub in Akron. 30 minutes later, Evans says he was doubled over in pain.

"When the boot hit me in my face all I could do is drop...and just holler for about ten minutes", he said.

He's asking for $25,000 in damages over injuries he says will require surgery. "Right here. It's chipped", he said, pointing to the left side of his nose. "This side of my nose, I often get clogged all the way up, where I can only breath out of (the opposite) side", he said.

The lawsuit says XTC management allowed dancers to wear improper attire and required strippers to perform dances that made the stage a hazardous place.

"Safety reasons and that they're responsible because it happened in their establishment by their employee", Evans told FOX 8.

The owner of the XTC Nightclub had no comment.

Evans filed the civil lawsuit the same day he says he was injured exactly one year ago. The 37-year-old Akron man says he still has pain from the chipped bone in his nose.

He says he saw a doctor the day after he was injured. He has medical bills and was told he'd need surgery. "The bills, the pain, my nose that ain't gonna go away unless I have surgery and I don't like surgery so I don't know what I'm gonna do about that."

What an idiot!

Cuyahoga County Sheriff Dept. AGAIN jeopordizing safety of residents

I guess Cuyahoga County Sheriff Gerald McFaul leads by example - he gave unwarranted raises to his relatives and friends of relatives, and now it appears so has one of his underlings...

From the PD --
Sheriff Gerald McFaul's chief of staff voted to give her son two pay raises at Cuyahoga County's Information Services Center, according to records.

Patricia Kresty, McFaul's representative on the Automated Data Processing Board, voted to approve raises totaling $12,358 for Justin Kresty in 2003 and 2004.

County officials said Friday that Kresty should have recused herself from the vote. Cuyahoga County Treasurer Jim Rokakis thinks the vote may have violated state law.

"If it did happen, she should be subject to termination," he said. "It's a violation of Ohio's ethics laws." More...

Almost as disturbing is that Crusty's son quit the Sheriff's Dept on the day he was accused of stealing out of confiscated automobiles - then 2 yrs later is hired for the county again.

But most disturbing about this whole issue is that the Sheriff's Dept. is considering releasing prisoners due to the lack of funds - and here we have the two of the top lawdogs in Cuyahoga County putting the financial welfare of their family and friends ahead of the safety of all Cuyahoga County residents.

President Barack Obama IGNORES Medal of Honor Recipients

President Barack "I Won" Obama sure is making a splash in his first few days. Now that he is our Commander-In-Chief, Barack will be in charge of our military. While our troops are highly trained professionals and will follow orders from their Commander-In-Chief, in order for this to be a good working relationship, Obama must win their respect and trust.

The highest honor any soldier can be awarded is the Medal of Honor. Most often, this award is given post humously. Any living Medal of Honor recipient is like a walking God. The highest ranking military officers even salute a Medal of Honor winner. So one would only think our newly elected President would hold these American heroes in only the highest esteem - right? Nope!

The pompous, egotistical, socialist suck-ass now polluting the White House feels he is above or soldiers and refused to honor our living Medal of Honor recipients on Inauguration Day.

H/T to Alo Konson at Brain Shavings
For the last 56 years, every President has made a point of attending the Salute To Heroes Inaugural Ball, which recognizes and celebrates recipients of the Medal of Honor. A bit of background:

The American Legion sponsors the ball, which recognizes recipients of the Medal of Honor, the nation's highest military award. It started in 1953 for President Dwight D. Eisenhower's first inauguration.

Event co-sponsors include 13 other veterans service organizations, among them the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Paralyzed Veterans of America.

Every four years Eisenhower's successors followed suit: John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush.

But yesterday, Barack Obama blew off 48 living recipients of the Medal of Honor who attended yesterday's Salute To Heroes Inaugural Ball. He had more important things to do.

Jerk.

Steaming Load of the Week Award -- The Appeaser-In-Chief green lights the next terrorist attack in America

From Politically Incorrect Gazette --

Steaming Load of the Week

Steaming Load #1: The Appeaser-In-Chief green lights the next terrorist attack in America

Today, with a few strokes of the presidential pen, the Appeaser-In-Chief signed the death warrant for hundreds, probably thousands, of American civilians. One of you, or someone you know, is on the short list for an untimely, terrorism-induced demise, because the Appeaser-In-Chief is a gutless, terrorist coddling, legend in his own mind who hasn't got the stones to fight America's enemies.

I get the fact that he’s paying off his neo-Marxist, terrorist loving, supporters. I also get the fact that he just eliminated some of America’s most reliable weapons in the war on terror. Club Gitmo, harsh interrogations, are our best, most reliable, weapons in this war against Messiah Barry’s Jihadikaze homeboys, and he threw it all away.

Barrack Hussein Obama sent a clear signal to terrorists that the United States of America is defenseless and begging for another terrorist attack on its own soil. After he reaps what he sowed, the Appeaser-In-Chief, aided and abetted by his minions, will do what comes naturally, by trying to shift the blame. He'll blame Bush, Neocons, whomever, and it might work with Obamunists, and the press.

Here in the Free State of PIG, we know the truth, and it’s not a pretty picture. The attack the Appeaser-In-Chief just gave the green light is his, and his alone. The deaths he just ORDERED are his fault and that blood is, no matter how much he tries to vote ‘present’, on his hands. We won't let you duck this one, prompter punk.

Normally, this is where I’d ‘flush’ this turd, but not this time. Thanks to the Obamunist horde and the broadcast blowjob brigade, this turd will be splashing around in the Oval Office bowl, for AT LEAST 8 years, probably much longer.

Parting shot: Those street legal firearms in your gun locker just became your first line of defense in the war on terror, welcome to the Jihadikaze bull's-eye Sparky.

Gay Mayor facing calls for resignation over affair with 17 year old boy

Mayor Sam Adams of Portland (OR) is facing calls for his resignation over a relationship with an underage boy who eventually landed a job working for the mayor. Claiming he was just showing him the ropes, Mayor Rammin' Sam says he was the boys gay mentor.

Rammin' Sam acknowledges the relationship started when his boy toy was only 17 - and after denying the relationship during his election, the 45 year old Adams is now trying to convince people no sex took place until he turned 18 years old....
Embattled Mayor Sam Adams went further Tuesday in his apology for lying about having sex with an 18-year-old, saying the relationship was inappropriate but he had no plans to resign.

The teen, Beau Breedlove, was 17 when Adams first met him in Salem in 2005. Adams said he waited until Breedlove was 18 before dating him. The relationship, which included sex, lasted only a few months, the mayor said.

Rumors later surfaced that Adams had sex with a minor, and the mayor said he initially lied about the relationship because he did not think people would believe the sex occurred when the teen was 18.

Adams also asked Breedlove to lie about the relationship, even though the mayor said the teen urged him to be honest about it. (Komono News)

Here is more proof that most child molesters of boys are gay. Yes, more often than not, when an underage boy is molested - the crime is committed by a gay man. Dispute it all you want, but even gay men, in comments like below from a Gay site acknowledge this to be true...

Adams like so many Gay men his age lust after men half their age, for reasons I can not fathom....

But after lying about the relationship - we should believe no sex took place, even after his fellows fruits acknowledge their love for young boys?

PNC Bank says NCB losses not even close to predictions

As more information comes out about the PNC Bank buyout of National City Bank - the stench level keeps rising.

From the PD --
When the National City-PNC deal was announced Oct. 24, PNC had justified offering almost 20 percent less than what National City shares were trading for at the time because, in part, it expected big losses from National City.

The issue of National City's projected losses has been a touchy issue because three days before the sale announcement, National City had forecasted losses of $3.5 billion to $4 billion from its riskiest loans. But when the deal was announced, PNC estimated $11 billion in losses from the risky portfolio.

PNC is revising its gloomy projections now that its management has had more time to dig into National City's books, the Pittsburgh bank said. More...

I am far from a banking expert - but if the bank was not as bad off as portrayed and outgoing NCB executives were able to pad their pockets with $50 million Golden Parachute's - was the sale needed or or did the fat cats just take their money and run?

During discussions about the sale, Rep. Steve LaTourette fought tooth and nail against this buyout and was thrown under the bus by NCB executives - who as it appears were on board with the buyout for obvious personal financial reasons.

The moral of the story - Cleveland & Cuyahoga County residents get screwed again!

High court: Students may sue under civil rights law, Title IX

From what little I am able to see through the internet - Massachusetts is a place where I would never want my child going to school.

From USA Today --

The Supreme Court ruled 9-0 Wednesday that students who are sexually harassed may sue under a federal statute covering schools and a broader civil rights law.

The decision, which clears up a conflict among lower courts, revives a lawsuit brought by the parents of a Massachusetts kindergartener who said a third-grade boy repeatedly harassed her on the school bus. Their daughter said the boy made her lift her dress, pull down her underwear and spread her legs.

Francisco Negron, general counsel of the National School Boards Association, disagreed, saying the decision could encourage litigation: "Why should school districts have to go through that pressure (of possible lawsuits), especially at the time of limited funds?" More...

Why should the schools be subject to lawsuits when they do not protect children that are left in their charge? WTF kind of stupid question is that! It is a schools responsibility to provide a safe learning place for the children.

But when dealing with the MA schools and the robed rube's running their lower courts - that both would feel a little girl being felt up is OK does not surprise me. In other instances, the MA courts have ruled teaching kids about homosexuality is more important than religious freedom AND the wishes of the child's parents.

If a straight child is continuosly subjected with Gay is OK - wouldn't that be a form of sexual harrassment too?

Gas prices to surge after Pelosi legislation - Get ready to pay more!

From ALG --

Unbeknownst to most, January 11, 2009, was a red-letter day for TV network news. On that day – circle it, laminate your calendar, and tuck it away as a family heirloom – CBS News finally admitted that they had failed miserably to report on a story that was as obvious as the nose on everyone else’s face.

Well, let me rephrase that: “as obvious as the nose on everyone else’s face – other than the folks at CBS News and the Hard Left politicians for whom they had provided cover until that fateful day.”

Here’s the scoop …

On Sunday, January 11 of this year, CBS News reluctantly conceded that they had failed to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth about what actually caused last year’s horrifying spike in gasoline prices. Oh, they didn’t come right out and say, “We lied.” But, even a casual reading between the lines of their story entitled “Did Speculation Fuel Oil Price Swings?” makes it more than abundantly clear that they finally thought it was time to come clean.

You may recall that month after month in the spring and early summer of 2008, as gas pump prices skyrocketed, Katie Couric, Charlie Gibson, and the other talking heads at CBS, made it their stock in trade to portray the crisis as irremediable. They told us that prices would continue to climb through the stratosphere. And that there was nothing in the world anyone could do about it (except, perhaps, resort to windmills, solar panels, and bicycles built for two).

Least of all, they proclaimed, would domestic drilling in any way, shape, or form help alleviate the problem, even in the slightest. Not now. Not ever. They took great pride in ferreting out leftwing politicians who would declare, as Illinois Democrat Dick Durbin did on May13, 2008, "We can't drill our way out of this."

And they became almost apoplectic with joy when, after President Bush had lifted the executive ban on domestic drilling in July, The Dragon Lady, Nancy Pelosi, sneered:

"Once again, the oilman in the White House is echoing the demands of Big Oil. The Bush plan is a hoax. It will neither reduce gas prices nor increase energy independence. It just gives millions more acres to the same companies that are sitting on nearly 68 million acres of public lands and coastal areas."

Of course, the Bush “hoax,” coupled with the American people forcing Ms. Pelosi, et. al., to lift the congressional ban did reduce gas prices. In fact, they plummeted. Immediately. Just as ALG News and scores of other commentators had predicted. And CBS News had denied. Time after time, and again.

Now, as of January 11, CBS is finally admitting that, well, gee whiz, maybe the lifting of the moratorium did help bring gas prices down – but only because it stopped the evil speculators from continuing to drive them up. Which, of course, gets it all exactly backwards.

Those of us with even a modicum of good sense (and a smidgeon of erudition and integrity) knew all along – and tried tirelessly to tell Ms. Couric, Mr. Gibson, and their political cronies – that the speculators paying top dollar on the futures market was the result, not the cause, of rising gas prices. And that once said speculators knew that America would, indeed, start drilling for its own oil, they would, in turn, stop paying top dollar for tomorrow’s yield. And gas pump prices would, as a result, begin to drop.

It’s called “simple logic.” Something that TV anchors and political hacks apparently find too abhorrent even to consider when it stands athwart their own firmly entrenched political agenda.

But, drop gas prices have. Like a rock. Much to what should be the chagrin of Dick, Nancy, Katie, and Charlie. Dick and Nancy, of course, have gone to ground on the issue, refusing to admit even for one moment that they were, in fact, dead wrong. (Which may help explain, at least in part, why The Dragon Lady’s approval rating is now hovering somewhere around 5% nationally, thereby making its plunge second only to that of gas prices).

To its credit, CBS News has, at last, taken the bold step of admitting that, indeed, gasoline prices have dropped. And in their own “we-weren’t-really-wrong” way of recognizing the obvious, they have even conceded that the speculators’ abandoning the futures market may have had … well … at least something to do with the precipitous plunge. Though they still get the whole cause and effect thing exactly backwards.

All of which reminds me of one of my favorite Ronald Reagan squelches. It came some two to three years into his first administration, when it had become clear to all by the Hard Left media elite and their political co-conspirators that Reaganomics had, indeed, worked to near perfection. Asked by one of those in attendance at an informal briefing how he felt about his critics continued caviling, the President smiled and responded, “Well, at least now they have to admit that it works in practice – even though they still insist it won’t work in theory.”

On January 11, 2009, in a dramatic break with its own historical precedent, CBS News actually admitted that drilling for domestic oil had, in practice, brought down gas prices. Now, they just need to get their theories straight. Which, if you check your calendar, should occur sometime around the twelfth of never.

Editor's Footnote: On Sunday, January 11, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid began pushing through his omnibus land grab bill to prevent America from tapping some 8.8 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and 300 million barrels of oil in Wyoming alone. And President Obama’s Interior Secretary designee has already announced that he intends to bring back the domestic drilling ban. So, get ready to retrieve your bicycle built for two.

Hudson River Jihadikaze

From Politically Incorrect Gazette

Classless Democrats

Innegroation Day was full of the typical democrat double standard. Over the course of the election we all know if anyone spoke out against Barack - our BI-RACIAL President - you were labeled a racist, bigot, hate-filled, ignorant, neocon, etc...

After Barack the Bi-Racial President was elected the left wanted everyone to embrace him with the cult-like leader status they have elevated him too. If you didn't - you were accused of not respecting the office of President, being small-minded, poor losers, etc... Some of the left-leaning lugnuts stated "we need to move past this and Republicans need to work with us in moving forward."

Well here is how they treated President Bush on his last day --

While crowds cheered Obama during his inauguration, reception wasn't as warm for outgoing President Bush – some booed him while others lined up to throw shoes at his effigy.

Many in the crowd began booing and shouting obscenities when President Bush and Vice President Cheney were introduced during the inauguration ceremony, St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter Kevin McDermott wrote.

Protesters with Arrest Bush 2009 carried anti-Bush signs along the inaugural parade route.

Prior to the inauguration, crowds gathered around a two-story inflatable blow-up doll with a Pinocchio nose to "Give Bush the Boot" at DuPont Circle in Washington, D.C. (WND)

Then in truly classless acts of compassion and "moving forward," they greeted VP Cheney...

Vice President Cheney recently injured himself while lifting boxes. McDermott said some people chuckled at him.

"When they showed VP Dick Cheney in the wheelchair, the booing was joined
with some laughter at his predicament..."

"That felt so much better than I thought it would!" exclaimed one woman, according to New York Magazine.

Moving forward huh?

So with the comments they made towards President Bush & "Shoot 'em up" Cheney, then they would have no problem with me saying -- Sen. Ted "What Bridge" Kennedy collapsed during our bi-racial Presidents inauguration because he was drunk again!

Is being gay a gift from God?

It looks like the white Rosie, Oprah, thinks she hit the mother lode for the LGBT lovers in this country - a minister that says being gay is a gift from God.

But in usual liberal fashion - they hear what they want to hear and shape the facts to fit their agendas...

From WND --
On the third day of her televised "Best Life" week-long series, even Oprah Winfrey was stunned to hear one of her pastor panelists, Rev. Ed Bacon, declare, "Being gay is a gift from God."

The comment was made earlier this month on the "Your Spiritual Journey" segment of Winfrey's "Best Life Week" by Rev. Bacon of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Pasadena, Calif., a church described by Pasadena Weekly as "one of the most socially progressive religious institutions in America."

"Tell us, what did you mean by that comment?" Winfrey asked.

"I meant exactly what I said," Bacon responded with a wide smile. "It is so important for every human being to understand that he or she is a gift from God, and particularly people who are marginalized and victimized in our culture. Gay and lesbian people are clearly outcasts in many areas of our life, and it is so important for them to understand that when God made them, God said, 'You are good.'" More...
Bacon, in exchange for TV lights, allowed his statements to be misconstrued.... he said being created is a gift from God - NOT that being an ass pirate is a gift from God.

I agree that gay people are a gift from God, though they have lost their way and must be found. I am sure God still loves them and looks at them as his children... but many of us know - his children can't come home if they are gay!

Bush commutes sentence of U.S. Border Patrol Agents

It took long enough and these guys should have never even been prosecuted - but President Bush has finally come to his senses and commuted the sentences of wrongly convicted U.S. Border Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean.

From WND --
The sentences for Ramos and Compean are scheduled to expire March 20 but there was no immediate explanation for the time period between today's announcement and that date.

Two years ago, Ramos and Compean began serving sentences of 11- and 12- years respectively for a 2005 incident in which they fired on a drug smuggler as he fled back into Mexico after bringing 750 pounds of marijuana into the U.S. near Fabens, Texas.

The smuggler was granted immunity for his illegal activities in return for testifying against the agents. After the trial, it was revealed the smuggler participated in another drug run into the U.S. while he held immunity. More...

Congressmen Ask Prosecutor of Ramos, Compean to Sway Bush on Clemency

The possible commutation of the sentences for wrongly imprisoned U.S. Border Agents Ramos & Compean is gaining more steam...
House members who want the release of two ex-Border Patrol agents sentenced to more than a decade in prison for shooting a Mexican drug smuggler tried a new tactic to push for clemency in the final days of the Bush administration.

On Wednesday, they called on U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton, the federal prosecutor who Bush called a “dear friend,” to recommend that Bush grant commutation. (ALIPAC)

I strongly believe in someone standing for their convictions, but the evidence does not bear out that a criminal "conviction" even be warranted. Standing for what you believe is one thing - failing to admit when you are wrong is completely different.

Even though Sutton stands firmly behind his decision to prosecute the border agents, he readily admits the sentences of 11 & 12 years is too harsh stating...

“The only question, I think a legitimate question is, ‘Is the punishment too harsh?’ I have always said the punishment in this case was too harsh.”

Disagreeing with the sentencing and blaming it on mandatory minimum sentencing, Sutton is now in the position to fix his mistake. Sutton's office and Bush are refusing to comment on the matter. Republican & Democrats in D.C. are getting more vocal in their support for the border agents...

“I believe the reason the president dug his heels in is because he wants to stand by his man,” Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) told CNSNews.com. “Well, his man believes these sentences are totally out of line.”

“This is a disproportionate sentence,” said Rep. William Delahunt (D-Mass), adding that the average sentence for manslaughter is three years. “The prosecutor in this case said these were harsh sentences. This is the president’s final opportunity to demonstrate compassion. This is his final opportunity to do it, and I hope he does do it.”

Rep. Brian Bilbray (R-Calif.) said, “even if you assume” the prosecution was proper, the firearms law that carried the mandatory 10-year-minimum sentence was not intended to apply to law enforcement officers.

Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) recalled that he received a Christmas card from the former border agents’ families.... “Mr. President, you have a few days left,” Jones said. “You are a man of faith. I urge you to get down on your knees and ask the Lord if you should commute the sentences of these men, because I believe he would tell you yes.”

The guys at Conservative Culture have been following this travesty of justice very closely. In a recent post they link to a story where one of Obama's candidates for ICE is even asking for their release...

Rev. Miguel Contreras, 53, has worked for ICE, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the former Immigration and Naturalization Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. He is vice president of Christian Alliance Ministries Worldwide and department head of Christian counseling and social work at Northwestern Theological Seminary.

Last month, Contreras announced Obama’s transition team told him he was a candidate for assistant secretary of ICE.

It was then that he decided to write a letter on behalf of the imprisoned agents, the El Paso Times reported. He asked the president to pardon them or reduce their sentences.

They also point out how it would be a stroke of genius if Obama pardoned the agents after being sworn in to office. And I cannot agree more, regardless of who releases Compean & Ramos, these men should not serve another day in jail.

Cleveland's first Right to Life March

Looks like something positive finally happened in Cleveland... With over 200 participants the first ever anti-abortion march, March for Life, held in Cleveland appears to have been a success.

The pro-life march was held to bring exposure against the proposed Freedom of Choice Act that President-elect Obama says he will sign into law. The Freedom of Choice Act will overturn many state laws against partial-birth abortions and ice up the slippery slope to state funded abortions.

From the PD --

More than 200 abortion opponents huddled Saturday at noon to pray at Perk Park, then fanned to the sidewalks of East 12th Street, trudging the two blocks to PlayhouseSquare in a wind chill of minus-8 degrees.
"This was not a confrontational march," said Anne Robins, executive director of LifeWorks Ohio, who helped organize the march with Cleveland Right to Life. "It's a call to prayer."

State Rep. Josh Mandel, a Republican from Lyndhurst, and Ohio Christian Alliance President Chris Long also spoke against the bill, urging people to call, e-mail and send letters to their congressional representatives. On Saturday, participants filled out postcards to send to U.S. Sens. George Voinovich and Sherrod Brown.

That Obama would promise to sign this bill into law on the campaign trail is no surprise. During the short life of his fantasy-filled political career, Barack O'babykiller, voted against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act and has earned the nickname - The Infanticide Candidate.

What I don't understand is why Barack, the man who "embraces" his partial blackness with bear hugs, would support the #1 killer of black Americans - Abortion.

Border Agents May Have Sentences Commuted

This makes me embarrassed to be an American!

President Bush has still yet to issue a pardon for jailed U.S. Border Patrol Agents Ramos & Compean. Bush has issued a pardon for a man convicted of hiring, aiding and harboring illegal immigrants - the same people Ramos & Compean were protecting us from - and in an unprecedented action, after handing out pardons like candy, Bush rescinded a pardon issued to a New York developer - but our Border Agents get ignored. He should be ashamed!

In a new turn of events, the agents may have their sentences commuted...

From WND --

The U.S. Department of Justice has opened a file on imprisoned U.S. Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean and a commutation of their sentences is under review, the office of agency pardon attorney Ronald L. Rodgers confirmed to WND.

Rodgers spoke directly about the case by telephone with Stephen J. Eichler, J.D., executive director of Jim Gilchrist's Minuteman Project Inc.. More...

Commuted? Bullcrap! Not only should they not be in jail - but if anyone was ever deserving of a pardon these men are! They should have never even been arrested.

Speeding Tickets & Stop Signs

Get a speeding or stop sign ticket and want to fight it? Being well versed on this issue, I would say more often than not, the traffic signage is incorrectly installed thus making the ticket void.

Below is a recent example...

From Reno Gazette Journal --
James Killian, a civil engineer with the Nevada Department of Transportation, argued the ticket he received in April for going 39 mph in a 25 mph zone was unenforceable because the speed limit sign was too small and didn’t comply with uniform traffic codes adopted by the state in 2003.

Elko Justice of the Peace Al Kacin agreed, and dismissed the citation.

Now county and Spring Creek Association employees are taking inventory of traffic signs, trying to determine how many may need to be replaced if the local jurisdictions are required to comply with the updated standards.

Traffic signage location is a very critical aspect of road construction. In the above incident it only resulted in a speeding ticket being dismissed. Imagine the lawsuits if there were a fatal accident at a 4-way intersection and the Stop sign was incorrectly installed. Because of these liabilities, some of the more pro-active municipalities are using traffic engineers to review city-wide signage for violations. I would say the county and Spring Creek Association should be grateful.

In Ohio, the regulations for traffic signage and anything traffic related (striping, traffic signals, construction zones, etc...) is very specific and can be found in the Ohio Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices (OMUTCD). Everything from the size of the sign, lettering, color scheme, height of sign, angle of sign, type of post and all the way down to the type of bolts to fasten the sign is regulated.

Inauguration Ticket Becomes Available

Are you having a hard time finding a ticket and hotel reservations for the upcoming anointing of President-elect Odumbo? If you are, today is your lucky day! It appears there will be an extra ticket.

Initially planning to attend the anointing, Mayor Gary Becker of Racine, WI had an abrupt change in plans after a trip to the shopping mall...

From AJC --

Authorities said he went there to meet what he thought was a 14-year-old girl but actually was a state agent.

A criminal complaint filed against him Thursday included sexually explicit chats he had with the other person. He faces six felony charges and has been freed on $165,000 cash bond.

City Administrator Ben Hughes said canceling Becker's airline ticket and a four-night stay in an expensive D.C. hotel will cost the city hundreds of dollars. He said city officials learned this week that Becker chose the most expensive of three options — at $550 a night — when booking hotel accommodations.

The pervert was charged with child enticement, possession of child pornography, exposing a child to harmful materials, attempted second-degree sexual assault of a child, use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime and misconduct in public office.

Best Obama Picture Yet!

One could only ask... is Obama getting ready for a meeting with Larry Craig or has he finally realized his place in history?

Girlieman of the Week: Barry "Prompter Punk" Obama

From Politically Incorrect Gazette --

Girlieman of the Week
Date Awarded: January 16, 2009

Girlieman: Barry "Prompter Punk" Obama
Antics: Hiding from a fawning media

Messiah Barry is painfully aware that his unscripted utterances tell intellectually active rational adults how utterly unprepared, unqualified, he is for that Oval Office job. His fear of getting too real makes him take extreme measures, when faced with a question and answer session.

He has to know that every female ‘alleged’ journalist wants to bed him. He has to know that every male "alleged" journalist wants to bend over and ‘take it like a man’ from their Messiah, Presfo Barry. Despite that, as revealed by the following quote, he goes gutless and girlie during his news conferences.

A Chicago Sun-Times columnist, Carol Marin, let the cat out of the bag when she wrote:

Steaming Load Award - Bullhead City (Arizona) buttheads snuff out the Eternal Flame.

From Politically Incorrect Gazette --

Steaming Load of the Week

Steaming Load #1: Bullhead City (Arizona) buttheads snuff out the Eternal Flame.

It’s called the Medal of Honor Memorial and it’s located at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Park, alongside the Colorado River. Paid for, and built by, American veterans, the memorial had a special meaning for any patriotic individual who wants to honor those who died defending us. That’s why the memorial includes an eternal flame, which signifies, among other things, they we remember, we honor, those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

The problems started, after the memorial was turned over to the Elected Tormentors in Bullhead City. Everything was spiffy, for these political punks, until the first gas bill for the eternal flame landed on the desk of a Bullhead City bean counter, in late December. Patriotism is one thing, but they’re not willing to spend $961 a month to prove it.

"It caught us by surprise," City Manager Tim Ernster said Thursday. "What we decided to do for the time being is to turn the flame on ... for special events, for Veterans Day, Fourth of July, Memorial Day — those types of activities." (Mohave Daily News)
The asshats snuffed out the flame on a Monday. On the following Friday, the local fishwrap published the thrilling news. By the next Monday, the blowback was so impressive that the Elected Tormentors relit the flame. Game, set, match? Not quite yet.

The Bullhead City bean counters are still whining about the gas bill, but they’re backing away from snuffing it out. Now, they want to have a ‘smaller’ flame for regular use, and reserve the bigger, more impressive, one, for those special, remember the troops occasions. The idea sucks, and you can quote me.

If Bullhead City’s bean counter can’t carve $1,000 a month out of the city’s budget to pay for this flame to salute our honored dead, then it’s time for Bullhead City’s rational adults, to flush these Elected Tormentor turds.

What in Cuyahoga County cost $407,936.83 to run in 2007?

So what’s your guess? DiMora’s lunch tab? No, its not Jimmy. The county commissioners’ chauffer service? No, it’s not the commissioners. A county judge’s or a suburban Mayor’s campaign? No, it was not a campaign. The Republican Party of Cuyahoga County?????????????? BINGO!!!!!!

Let’s take a look at some of the highlights or lowlights for 2007.

POLITICAL WORK IS A CALLING

IN-HOUSE PHONE SYSTEM
$10,192.68

PARTY PROVIDED CELL PHONES
$4,193.15 (First 6 Months)
$6,059.00 (Last 6 Months)
TOTAL: $10,252.15

IN-HOUSE PHONE SYSTEM + CELL PHONES = $20,444.83

And you get pissed at Verizon for charging you roaming minutes? Maybe someone at RPCC Headquarters should be taking that annoying phone call from AT&T about switching plans for a better rate.

RENT: AND YOU DON’T EVEN GET SNAPPY SHOW TUNES

RENT AND UTILITIES
$19,729.67 (First 6 Months)
$20,179.29 (Last 6 Months)
TOTAL: $39,908.96

Well you know downtown D.C. rent is just astronomical. Oh, wait we are in downtown Cleveland, not D.C. A downtown that can not fill office space to save its life. You would think with the mortgage crisis the media keeps going on about we could get a sweet deal and buy a place. When you buy it, you don’t have to pay rent. Hmmm… At least it has ample parking, oh wait…

PARK IT!

PARKING PASSES
$3,450.00 (First 6 Months)
$3,725.00 (Last 6 Months)
TOTAL: $7,175.00

There is ample downtown parking. Or at least that’s what they tell the ward leaders when they have to trek down their for a meeting. Costs range from $.25/hr for a meter to $25 for a parking ticket and everything in between. Hopefully there is a Cavs or Indians game too. It is so ample that we pay for it. Funny thing is they work right next to tower city which has a rapid stop and a set of bus stops right in front of the building. Let’s see $75 per monthly pass X 12 months X 3 people = $2,700. A savings of almost $5,000. I bet if we tell them this they would gladly save the party that money, heck they may even offer to pay for their own parking, if they’re not so inclined to take the bus, saving us even more!

DA DA DA DA DA DA - - - - CHARGE!

PARTY CREDIT CARD CHARGES
$7,620.00 (First 6 Months)
$7,300.00 (Last 6 Months)
TOTAL: $14,920.00

You thought your teenager was bad? Yes, while it is wise to keep little Susie away from Legacy Village with pa pa’s American Express, you may want to keep your RPCC children under just as tight of a leash.

WORKIN’ 9 TO 5

SALARIES (Frost, Backiel, Cizmadia/Luketic)
$99, 849.75 (First 6 months)
$99, 935.44 (Last 6 months)
TOTAL: $199,785.19

Now you say, wait they work incredibly long hours, especially during campaign season. Never forget Confucius say, one man’s “work” is another man’s web surfing time.” Although they do put in long hours, what exactly is accomplished by them, what about down time when they are not directly in the midst of a campaign's height?

FOR A GRAND TOTAL OF $407,936.83

So we return to where we started. What is this money buying? This number is a most fruitful point of discussion. The point is, are you getting what you pay for? Or better yet, who is paying for this and why are they? What are they getting for it?

See my fellow members of King's court, a good blog post poses more questions than it answers. Champaign wishes and caviar dreams!

Team Obama Throws Richardson Under the Bus

Again making excuses for Obama's poor judgment of a persons character....

Sources tell ABC News that officials on the Obama Transition Team feel that before he was formally offered the job of commerce secretary, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson was not forthcoming with them about the federal investigation that is looking into whether the governor steered a state contract towards a major financial contributor.

Once the investigation became more widely known through national media reports last month, sources tell ABC News, the Obama Transition Team realized the FBI would not be able to give Richardson a clean political bill of health before the new administration is ready to send his nomination up to the Senate for confirmation.

The Richardson camp says the governor was forthcoming, with sources close to the governor noting that there had been reports about the controversy in local media such as the Albuquerque Journal as far back as August 2008. The governor discussed the investigation with the Obama team, they say, and believes that he and his administration have done nothing wrong.

From 2004 to 2005, CDR Financial Products, a Beverly Hills, Calif.-based company founded and run by David Rubin, received nearly $1.5 million through the New Mexico Finance Authority for advising the state in a complex highway funding project pushed by Richardson. In roughly that same time period, CDR and Rubin gave approximately $100,000 to political organizations run by Richardson, including one that paid for his and his staff's expenses at the 2004 Democratic convention. Neither the grand jury nor the FBI has interviewed Richardson.

President-elect Obama did not ask Richardson to withdraw his name from consideration, sources from both camps say, but the fact that the confirmation seemed untenable in the short term was apparent to everyone involved.

Franken Wins Minnesota Senate Race

How's this for a kick in the conservative cookies! Beaten by a washed-up SNL comedian turned liberal talk show host!

From Yahoo News --

Democrat Al Franken will be declared the winner of the tight U.S. Senate contest in Minnesota, emerging from a ballot recount with a slim margin over Republican Norm Coleman, state officials said on Sunday.

But Coleman, the incumbent, has asked Minnesota's supreme court to require that a few hundred additional absentee ballots be included in the recount -- and he could then ask the court to investigate the contest all over again.

"At the moment, Franken has a 225-vote lead," after the weekend counting of what were deemed the last uncounted absentee ballots, said Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie, a Democrat who oversaw the process.

Senate Republicans have pledged not to seat Franken provisionally while the race is still in doubt. Democratic Sen. Charles Schumer of New York urged that Franken be seated, which would expand the party's majority to 58 of the 100 members. More...

Please no comments how Franken stole the election from Coleman because of a Democrat was Secretary of State. Coleman should be ashamed that Franken even made it a race!

Iranian AIDS doctors tried in secret in Iran's Islamic dungeon

And people complain about our justice system!

From Persian Journal --

Dr. Kamiar Alaei, an internationally recognized AIDS physician who is a doctoral student in the University at Albany's School of Public Health, was tried in a secret army trial Wednesday in Iran along with his brother, Dr. Arash Alaei. A verdict is expected Wednesday.

The highly irregular one-day trial of the brothers, who operated AIDS clinics in their home country of Iran for years with tacit government approval, involved secret charges along with public indictments that the brothers conspired to overthrow the Iranian government.

The prosecution cited the brothers' participation at international AIDS conferences as part of their scheme to foment a so-called "velvet revolution" against Tehran, according to the Physicians for Human Rights.

Their court appearance followed a six-month detention in Tehran's notorious Evin prison. If convicted, it's unclear what the severity of the sentence might be since some of the charges have not been revealed. More...

With the love the Iranian government shows for gay's - These guy's obviously don't stand a chance of getting a fair trial.

The usual punishment in Iran for being a pansy-fied Persian is the death penalty. That these guys were giving medical care to gay guys - forget about it - they too will be swinging from a rope.

Richardson withdraws as Obama's Secretary of Commerce

Barack Obama's Cabinet is falling apart before he even put the doors on!
H/T for Bill at Keane Observation for this keen observation...

Under investigation for "pay-to-play" allegations, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson has withdrawn his name as a nominee for secretary of the commerce. That didn't take long. Change we can believe in is looking a lot like the last Democratic administration with their myriad ethical lapses.

It's a darn shame he had to withdraw from the confirmation process. It would have been good theater considering Sen. Byrd's declaration that Richardson would never get confirmed for another government job based on how he screwed up as Energy Secretary.

Oh well, if we can't have Richardson giving up a governor seat maybe Obama can find another senator to appoint to the commerce job. At the current rate the Dems will have close to 30 seats to defend in 2010. More seats they have to defend the easier it will be to pick off the low hanging fruit (like Harry Reid).

I swear I heard Richardson singing praise about Obama's integrity during the election, and Obama the same for Richardson.

So what does that say about Obama? It says a crook thinks he has integrity?!?! That's great!

But more importantly what does it say about Obama? What was the one flaw about him, continually pointed out on here? His proven track record of making poor character judgements (Rev. Wright, William Ayers, Tony Rezco, etc...).

We can only hope any other poor character judgements on Obama's part are exposed before his Cabinet appoinments are confirmed.

Harry "The Racist" Reid wanted to fill Obama's Seat

This is why I just love Blago! Even though it appears he is a crook - he has no problem challenging and exposing the other Democrat crooks!

From Yahoo News --

Illinois' embattled governor complained through his spokesman Saturday that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is guilty of a conflict of interest in that Reid telephoned him in early December to discuss the seat being vacated by President-elect Barack Obama.

Lucio Guerrero, spokesman for Gov. Rod Blagojevich, said he didn't know firsthand which candidates the Nevada Democrat supported during the call, but said he knows Reid's candidates did not include Roland Burris, the man the governor recently picked for Obama's seat.

"I think the governor believes there is a conflict of interest — that Reid showed he has a horse in the race and Roland Burris wasn't one of them," Guerrero said.

From what I can see, for a Democrat, Burris appears to be a good selection. Other than being appointed by Blago, I see no reason why his appointment shouldn't be confirmed.

It appears that, Harry "The Racist" Reid, doesn't agree. I guess Reid feels since they have gotten their "token" elected president - they have enough black democrats for now...

Reid reportedly opposed the appointments of Democratic Reps. Jesse Jackson Jr. and Danny Davis because the Democratic leader feared they would lose the seat to a Republican in the 2010 general election. Reid also allegedly opposed Emil Jones, the powerful black leader of the Illinois Senate, on the same grounds.

"What is clear to me is that every candidate that was African-American was denied and every other candidate was acceptable," said Wright, adding, "I'm not going to read too much into that."

How do Democrats deal with the overt racism in their party - they ignore it by not reading too much in to it!

U.S. Blocks Gaza Cease-Fire

Initially calling for a cease-fire in Gaza, it appears Bush has changed his mind. This makes absolutely no sense!

From Fox News --
Libyan Ambassador Giadalla Ettalhi said the United States during the discussions objected to "any outcome" on the proposed statement. He said efforts were made to compromise on a weaker press statement but there was no consensus.

Several other council members, speaking on condition of anonymity because negotiations were closed, also said the U.S. was responsible for the council's failure to issue a statement.

The U.S., Israel's closest ally, has designated Hamas a terrorist organization. U.S. deputy ambassador Alejandro Wolff said the United States saw no prospect of Hamas abiding by last week's council call for an immediate end to the violence. Therefore, he said, a new statement "would not be adhered to and would have no underpinning for success, (and) would not do credit to the council." More...

While Israel has every right to defend their borders and protect their residents from terrorist rocket attacks - continuing the the violence will only worsen the situation. I am not sticking up for either side - as both claim they are right. And yes, I, the scorched earth fighting/kill all terrorists type of guy, believe Israel should put a halt on furthering the ground attack.

This is a very complicated situation. First, in my opinion, Bush should NOT have pushed for elections that Hamas was sure to win - but he did.

Unfortunately, in this case and unlike Iraq, a regime change will not work. Israel is fighting an ideology - a movement - from a sub-set of world wide radical Islam - not a country. Even the son of Hamas leader, who has converted to Christianity & denounced the group, agrees...
JONATHAN HUNT: Do you believe that Israel can ever strike a peace deal with Hamas?

MOSAB HASSAN YOUSEF: There is no chance. Is there any chance for fire to co-exist with the water? There is no chance. Hamas can play politics for 10 years, 15 years; but ask any one of Hamas’ leaders, ‘Okay, what’s going to happen after that? Are you just going to live and co-exist with Israel forever?’ The answer is going to be no … unless they want to do something against the Koran. But it’s their ideology and they can’t just say ‘We’re not going to do it.’ So there is no chance. It’s not about Israel, it’s not about Hamas: it’s about both ideologies. There is no chance. (H/T Conservative Culture)

Continuing the ground attack only plays into the hands of the Hamas terrorists and gives other Islamic regimes and terrorists groups a rallying cause. Instead of responsibly inserting ourselves, calling for a cease-fire and playing 'good guys', the U.S. only adds fuel to the "kill the apostates" fire by blocking the cease-fire demand.

Don't get me wrong, Hamas is a terrorist group and must be stopped. But it cannot be done by Israel, for that matter, it cannot be done by any country imposing their will. It must be done from within by the Palestinians living in Gaza and the West Bank.

Reason # 947, 320 for the Death Penalty

I became so angry after reading this story - I punched the wall! What an F'ing animal this guy is...

From Fox News --
A man who initially told police gunmen kidnapped his 2 1/2-year-old son was arrested Saturday, accused of committing an "extremely hideous" murder because he was ordered to pay child support, Police Superintendent Warren Riley said.

Danny Platt confessed, told police where to find the child's body and will be booked with first-degree murder of Ja' Shawn Powell, Riley said at a news conference.

"He had said he would kill either his wife or his child before he paid child support," which he recently had been ordered to do, Riley said.

Riley said Platt eventually confessed and told officers where to find the body.

Rarely am I at a loss for words... this is one of those times. May God bless this childs soul and send his father to burn in HELL!

Pat Robertson predicts United States will Embrace Socialism

The Bible-thumping, hallucinating Holy Roller, Pat Robertson is at it again! It sounds almost as if he has fallen victim to the "Anointed One," and believes Obama is the second coming...

From WND --
Pat Robertson, founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network, announced at his staff's annual prayer retreat that God told him Americans would embrace socialism in 2009 "in order to relieve their pain" and that the economy would rebound under an Obama administration.

"The Lord said the economy of your nation will recover," Robertson told a group assembled at Founders Inn on the campus of Regent University in Virginia Beach, Va., a university Robertson founded.

Robertson said God also declared, "The steps taken will lead to a dramatic increase in the power of government. The people will welcome socialism in order to relieve their pain. Nothing will stand in the way of a plan by Obama to restructure the economy in the same fashion as the New Deal in the '30s." More...

Pat, God does not speak to idiots like you! Why? Because he knows you will twist his message to suit your needs!

If he, our Lord, said anything to you, it would be more like - "Pat, you are an idiot! What kind of half-witted Holy man are you? Are you forgetting, I only help those that help themself - not lazy people looking for hand outs? Do you not remember I look down on people who are enablers?"

Cuyahoga County Sheriff put Friends & Relatives ahead of Resident Safety

Cuyahoga County is facing a $55 million shortfall in the budget. The Sheriff's Dept is stretched to the limit by having to also patrol E. Cleveland & North Randall. Though crime stats show a drop in murder for Cuyahoga County, most residents would be hard pressed to tell you they feel safer.

This is a time when elected officials are forced to make hard decisions. All the visions of grandeur and silver-bullet projects that were predicted to financially "save" our county - failed.

So what is an elected official to do at a crunch time like this?

Duh! What else - act like a Cuyahoga County Democrat! Put the best interest and safety of residents aside to give friends & relatives promotions and raises!

From the PD --

McFaul laid off 18 deputies and three other workers Friday to begin to trim his budget and help offset the county deficit. He also eliminated the position of sergeant, which affected 18 deputies.

Eleven of those deputies were demoted and had their pay reduced.

The remaining seven were promoted to lieutenant. At least three of those promoted have personal ties to McFaul.

They include: Theresa Shaffer, his niece; Nestor Rivera, the best man in his son's wedding; and George Tumney, an official from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3345 in Strongsville, where McFaul is a member and has served on some of its boards.

The promotions bumped their pay about $7,000 each, to about $67,000.

Theresa Shaffer, McFaul's niece, has been on the force since 2002. Some of the demoted sergeants served more than 10 to 15 years longer than her. Many of them recently sought to unionize, and a vote was scheduled for this month. McFaul said he did not eliminate the rank to prevent the sergeants from unionizing.

The longtime sheriff also confirmed Saturday that he hired his son-in-law in 2006 as a security monitor. Louis Vincelli is now a garage superintendent and has been given more than a 100 percent pay raise to wash, fuel and supervise a fleet of vehicles and oversee two employees.

Before the area conservatives and Republicans start screaming for McFaul's head - ask yourself one thing --- when is the last time the RPCC ran a viable candidate for Sheriff?

So as the story goes... unless you offer a better alternative - you can't complain!

Reason # 947, 319 for the Death Penalty

The death penalty would be too good for these savages...

From Fox News --
Two Santa Ana College football players and a friend have been charged with raping and assaulting an 18-year-old woman while she lay unconscious in an Orange County hotel room.

Freshman running back Michael Clemmons, 19, and sophomore wide receiver Luster Lewis, 20, were arrested this week after someone found a 19-minute video the players made of the assault, the Orange County district attorney's office said Friday.

John Paul Foster II, 22, is also accused of helping the players repeatedly rape the victim in July after she passed out at a party at a hotel in Tustin.

The three men each pleaded not guilty to six counts of rape and sexual assault and were being held Friday on $100,000 bail.

There is nothing that can rehabilitate these animals. Raping an unconscious women repeatedly for over 20 minutes and taping it - shows a complete indifference for another human life - meaning these scumbags should immediately lose their right to live.

Too bad these guys live in CA and not Iran. In CA they will probably end up being made the victims - in Iran they would be tossed off a cliff in a burlap sack like these guys.

A Historic Transition

After reading the following piece I have hard time believing anyone would disagree that we will soon be facing a historic day in our country.

I have come to the conclusion that, regardless of ones beliefs, and by the voice of his fellow Americans, he has truly earned his position and should be duly recognized...

In a few short days, an African American man will move from his private residence into a much larger and infinitely more expensive one owned not by him but by the taxpayers. A vast lawn, a perimeter fence and many well trained security specialists will insulate him from the rest of us but the mere fact that this man will be residing in this house should make us all stop and count our blessings - because it proves that we live in a nation where anything is possible.

Many believed this day would never come. Most of us hoped and prayed that it would, but few of us actually believed we would live to see it. Racism is an ugly thing in all of it's forms and there is little doubt that if this man had moved into this house fifteen years ago, there would have been a great outcry - possibly even rioting in the streets. Today, we can all be both grateful and proud that no such mayhem will take place.when this man takes up residency in this house.

This man, moving into this house at this time in our nation's history is much more than a simple change of addresses for him - it is proof of a change in our attitude as a nation. It is an amends of sorts - the righting of a great wrong. It is a symbol of our growth, and of our willingness to "judge a man, not by the color of his skin but by the content of his character".

There can be little doubt now that the vast majority of us truly believe that this man has earned both his place in history and his new address. His time in this house will not be easy - it will be fraught with danger and he will face many challenges. I am sure there will be many times when he asks himself how in the world he ended up here and like all who have gone before him, the experience will age him greatly.

But I for one will not waste an ounce of worry for his sake - because in every way a man can, he asked for this. His whole life for the past fifteen years appears to have been inexorably leading this man toward this house. It is highly probable that in the past, despite all of his actions, racism would have kept this man out of this house. Today, I thank the lord above that I am an American and that I live in a nation where wrongs are righted, where justice matters and where truly anything is possible.

Who is this man? you ask. You think you know, don't you? WRONG!

Neener, neener, neener!

Most Valuable Progressives of 2008

Liberal ragazine, The Nation, recently released a list of "Most Valuable Progressives" for 2008.

Get the New Years confetti out of the trash - two of the winners call Ohio home...

From the PD --

U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur of Toledo and the Policy Matters Ohio research group, founded by Shaker Heights resident Amy Hanauer, were named Most Valuable House Member and Most Valuable State or Regional Group.

It credits Kaptur with keeping Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson from getting free rein in the bailout of the financial services industry.

"It was Kaptur who rallied the opposition--successfully blocking Paulson's first proposal in the House and forcing minor improvements in the plan," the article reads.

The magazine praises Policy Matters, which has offices in Cleveland and Columbus, for forcing debate and linking national efforts to local communities in Ohio.

"Intellectually rigorous, yet always accessible in its approach, this group has produced more than 160 reports that have given Ohio's progressive activists and legislators the tools they need to challenge corporate spin and pressure tactics."

Fellow RPCC member, GOP Flame, correctly points out, "the anti-American slug Kaptur called our Founding Fathers - 'terrorists'". This alone was probly enough to win Kaptur the award.

Reading through the PD comments, and with Ohio bleeding jobs & begging for a bailout, it amazes me how the left can be proud that Policy Matters is so anti-business and contributing to the loss of jobs.

Do they not understand - to have a job, unless self-employed, you must work for a busniness?

After reading the other recipients of the award that the left claims is an honor, I'm thinking it should be renamed - "Biggest internal threats to the existence of our country" for 2008.

6 out of 10 Soldiers Fear Obama Presidency

While our soldiers respect the office of Commander in Chief - the man about to fill it gives them cause for caution...

From WND --

The sixth annual Military Times survey asked over 30,000 subscribers to Army Times, Air Force Times, Navy Times and Marine Corps Times newspapers, "How do you feel about President-elect Barack Obama as commander in chief?"

A total of 5,181 active-duty, National Guard and reserve and retired military subscribers responded to the email invitation issued from Dec. 1 to Dec. 8.

Of the 1,947 active-duty soldiers that responded, a third answered that they are "optimistic," while 25 percent answered "pessimistic" and 35 percent admitted to being "uncertain." The "uncertain" response differs from "no opinion," which garnered 8 percent of the vote.

Other survey results found that nearly 80 percent of the respondents support the war in Afghanistan and nearly the same amount favor increasing troop strength there, though 30 percent believe it may take more than 10 years of military presence in Afghanistan to achieve American goals. More...

Off to see O'Wizard

The so-called defenders of the "Ohio working man" are heading down the Yellow Brick Road to D.C and are off to see O'Wizard.

Forget about asking for brains, a heart or courage - they'd share them on the way home anyway - this band of merry misfits come bearing gifts most cannot afford for a remote chance of seeing Barack O'Wizard...

From elected officials to former office holders to proud volunteers, Ohio Democrats have purchased all of the state party's 150 allotted rooms at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel, a historic luxury hotel not far from the White House. Only a handful of Ohio rooms are being held for last-minute VIPs.

The price tag for celebrating the election of Democrat Barack Obama rivals the extravagance of the bygone housing boom: A minimum of $4,000 for the four-night stay beginning Saturday, Jan. 17. For $6,000, Democrats can upgrade their rooms to suites.

But money doesn't buy access, at least not in this case. It only gets Ohioans on the "priority list" for tickets to official inaugural events, which are managed by the Presidential Inaugural Committee.

Ohioans buying hotel rooms at the Mayflower get two tickets to Ohio's black-tie-optional gala on Sunday, Jan. 18, which includes a live band from the D.C. area and an appearance by Ohio State University's marching band.

Nearly 700 people have purchased tickets to the gala, which cost $300 apiece, according to Bill DeMora, of the special committee making arrangements for the Ohio activities.

Former U.S. Rep. Dennis Eckart, who was an adviser to Obama's Ohio campaign, said the price of the hotel package is a bargain. (PD)

I'm wondering how many other people in Ohio can afford a bargain like a $1000 per night room?

Even though O'Wizard's inaugural festivities will have all the pomp and circumstance of OZ, sad to say, unlike the movie, it is not a dream - but a nightmare. Unfortunately for us, the curtain will not be pulled back exposing this fraud too!

Soviet Professor predicts "mass immigration, economic decline, and moral degradation" will lead to destruction of United States

Sometimes the truth hurts...

From The Wall Street Journal --

Prof. Panarin, 50 years old, is not a fringe figure. A former KGB analyst, he is dean of the Russian Foreign Ministry's academy for future diplomats. He is invited to Kremlin receptions, lectures students, publishes books, and appears in the media as an expert on U.S.-Russia relations.

"There's a 55-45% chance right now that disintegration will occur," he says. "One could rejoice in that process," he adds, poker-faced.

Mr. Panarin posits, in brief, that mass immigration, economic decline, and moral degradation will trigger a civil war next fall and the collapse of the dollar. Around the end of June 2010, or early July, he says, the U.S. will break into six pieces -- with Alaska reverting to Russian control.

He based the forecast on classified data supplied to him by FAPSI analysts, he says. He predicts that economic, financial and demographic trends will provoke a political and social crisis in the U.S. When the going gets tough, he says, wealthier states will withhold funds from the federal government and effectively secede from the union. Social unrest up to and including a civil war will follow. The U.S. will then split along ethnic lines, and foreign powers will move in.

California will form the nucleus of what he calls "The Californian Republic," and will be part of China or under Chinese influence. Texas will be the heart of "The Texas Republic," a cluster of states that will go to Mexico or fall under Mexican influence. Washington, D.C., and New York will be part of an "Atlantic America" that may join the European Union. Canada will grab a group of Northern states Prof. Panarin calls "The Central North American Republic." Hawaii, he suggests, will be a protectorate of Japan or China, and Alaska will be subsumed into Russia. More...

Sounds a lot like how Russia fell apart - it fell apart from within. Well, Reagan helped too.

Panarin is dead on about the negative effects mass immigration, economic decline, and moral degradation are having on our country. But who and what is he describing?

Open borders and amnesty for illegal immigrants, share the wealth - socialist economic policies and endorsement of the radical gay agenda are the main doctrines of the democrat party and the "Anointed One" who will soon be taking office.

Congressional Panel recommends 50% hike on Gasoline Tax

Now that we are finally getting some relief at the gas pump -- some of the 'smarter' people want to increase the gas tax. A congressional panel is recommending an immediate 10 cent per gallon hike and up to a 50% increase.

A 50 percent increase in gasoline and diesel fuel taxes is being urged by a federal commission to finance highway construction and repair until the government devises another way for motorists to pay for using public roads.

The National Commission on Surface Transportation Infrastructure Financing, a 15-member panel created by Congress, is the second group in a year to call for higher fuel taxes.

With motorists driving less and buying less fuel, the current 18.4 cents a gallon gas tax and 24.4 cents a gallon diesel tax fail to raise enough to keep pace with the cost of road, bridge and transit programs. (Yahoo News)

Yes, after being financially buried under the weight of $4.00 a gallon gas due to rising oil prices - we did as asked - we checked the air in our tires and curtailed our consumption. Due to this, and the "in the crapper" world economy - oil prices dropped, well at least for now, earning us a brief respite where we are not forced to decide between food and gas.

So now as we are asked to go "green," a panel of congressionally appointed pukes want to increase the federal gas tax and urge states to increase state gas taxes to make up for the loss of finances due to lower consumption.

A study by the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies estimated that the annual gap between revenues and the investment needed to improve highway and transit systems was about $105 billion in 2007, and will increase to $134 billion in 2017 under current trends.
Jumping on the band wagon in support of the gas tax increase is an unlikely bedfellow - the trucking industry. The truckers, plagued with traffic congestion, support the tax increase as a way of financing project to ease their driving burdens.

The trucking industry has offered up a very scary way of 'hiding' these gas tax increases - they want to call them a 'carbon tax' instead of a 'gas tax'. I guess they figure the tree-hugging, "save gas - fart in a jar," global warming geeks will jump on board with this twist of words or pack of lies.

Charles Whittington, chairman of the American Trucking Associations, which supports a fuel tax increase as long as the money goes to highway projects, said Congress may decide to disguise a fuel tax hike as a surcharge to combat climate change.

"Instead of calling it a gas tax, call it a carbon tax," Whittington said.

I work in heavy highway construction and infrastructure installation, maintenance and repair. Many projects have been put on hold due to the economic crisis. The cost of almost everything involved in this line of work is directly related to oil prices from the manufacturing of PVC pipe, the batching of asphalt to the delivery of the asphalt, concrete, stone and other materials to the project.

One of the unknown costs and usual sources of waste in these projects is poor design engineering. I can go on and on where municipalities spent untold amounts (over hundreds of thousands of dollars) of money because of poor designs. Multiplying those thousands of dollars for cities across the United States and the figure would be staggering. Because of various reasons, these costs are never recouped by the communities. Thus, decreasing the amount of funds that can be spent on other projects.

Traffic congestion is a big problem for truckers and growing communities. Also, without going into to details, the stopping & starting of traffic wreaks havoc on pavement - but in many cases there are "green" ways of reducing the congestion, energy costs and extending the life of pavement. Extending the life of pavement rests directly on proper design, installation, drainage and a routine maintenance plan. One without the other - and the structural integrity of your pavement suffers - thus shortening its' life span.

Some communities have been installing LED traffic signals with a closed-loop traffic system, either by installing all new traffic signals or retro-fitting existing signals with LED bulbs. The cost of these new systems are offset by the savings from a decreased used of electricity, and since LED bulbs last far longer than standard bulbs, the cities will see a decrease in lamp maintenance.

Aiding with the flow of traffic are motion-sensor traffic cameras. These cameras, not to be confused with red light or speeding cameras, take the place of the coaxial cable traffic loop systems placed in the upper courses of pavement. Again, the cameras are more reliable, less maintenance and with a properly designed traffic flow study, will ease the flow of traffic, which will decrease congestion and reduce the stop/start effect on pavement.

The costs to resignal an intersection with a basic closed-loop system and LED signals is approx. $75,000. These costs are offset by the energy savings of the LED lights and decreased maintenance. It is estimated the systems pay for themselves in approximately 5-7 years.

Will these measures save enough money to make up for the loss of revenue due to declining gas sales? Hell No! But they will decrease the amount of money out of our pockets needed to fill the expected $134 billion need in 2017.

Congressional Ball Drop
