Iran: Still Hanging Homosexuals

This post is for all the people that complain how our country continually abuses the perceived rights of homosexual's and those that feel Islam is a peaceful religion...

From Iran Focus --

Mohsen Yahyavi is the highest-ranked politician to admit that Iran believes in the death penalty for homosexuality after a spate of reports that gay youths were being hanged.

A series of reported executions of gays, including two underage boys whose public hanging was posted on the internet, has alarmed human rights campaigners.

.....Mr Yahyavi, a member of his parliament’s energy committee, was unflinching. He “explained that according to Islam gays and lesbianism were not permitted”, the record states. “He said that if homosexual activity is in private there is no problem, but those in overt activity should be executed [he initially said tortured but changed it to executed]. He argued that homosexuality is against human nature and that humans are here to reproduce. Homosexuals do not reproduce.”

Iran, Mauritania, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen and Nigeria apply the death penalty for homosexuality, according to the International Lesbian and Gay Association. More...

While I have no love for homosexual's, killing a person just because they are queer is a little extreme for me - but this is the norm in Iran. I believe there is only one incident in which I agreed with the justice system in Iran.

Now I might go for locking up the homosexual's that push the radical gay agenda on our children in a room with naked pictures of Rush Limbaugh for a couple hours, but hanging someone because of their sexual orientation is the behavior of animals.

It would be nice if the liberal left and korrectniks in our country would get off their, "Islam is a religion of peace" kick. One would think the human rights violations being perpetrated on the Iranian citizens in the name of Islam, would be enough to convince them it is NOT a religion of peace as interpreted by the extremists - such as Iranian President Imachickenhead.

  2. Don't be mistaken... I am not standing up for gay rights. I am standing up for human rights and just pointing out what animals these people are over there.

Do you not find it ironic that the people in this country that want us to leave Iran alone, are the very people Iran would kill first if they were in that country?

That's what, 80% of college students?
Say what you will about life here in the US, but our government's nowhere near as fucked up as Iran's.
