Councilman Richard Veits of St. Charles, MO is trying to pass a law that would ban drinking games or contests, dancing on tables, and indecent, profane or obscene language, songs, entertainment and literature - in BARS!
From MSNBC --
A St. Louis-area town is considering a bill that would ban swearing in bars, along with table-dancing, drinking contests and profane music.
City officials contend the bill is needed to keep rowdy crowds under control because the historic downtown area gets a little too lively on some nights.
City Councilman Richard Veit said he was prompted to propose the bill after complaints about bad bar behavior. He says it will give police some rules to enforce when things get too rowdy.
The proposal would ban indecent, profane or obscene language, songs, entertainment and literature at bars. More....
Damn! I thought we had it bad here in Ohio with Ayatollah Phil and his assault on booty parlor's - this Councilman Dick Beats guy is something else! I bet the next law he will push for is having women issued burqua's at the City of St. Charles Information Desk.
But who am I kidding? God made goose stepping, nanny state korrectniks like this for nobody other than - HAMBO!
Pretty ridiculous. But not that unusual.
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in NYC one of the things then-mayor Rudy Giuliani did was make dancing illegal in bars unless the bar had a dancing license.
No Joseph it is very ridiculous!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, a dancing license? maybe not a bad idea for OH
