Hagan the Hypocrite has recently been sounding off at the mouth about a county reform initiative. Hagan has been heard on local radio stations and in the PD talking about how cities need to pull together and help each other. Well it looks like Hagan the "Hollywood Husband" had his bluff called and he is showing his true colors!
The cash strapped Village of North Randall has asked Cuyahoga County for help patrolling their streets at night. Mayor David Smith has requested Cuyahoga County Sheriff Dept. help patrol their village at night until their financial status improves and more police can be hired.
The Cuyahoga County Sheriff, Gerald McFaul, has stated he would be more than happy to help, but the county needs to increase his budget. McFaul is elected, under Hagan's proposed reform plan the Sheriff would be appointed.
Guess what "My reform plan will save us" Hagan said? He told them to go pound salt!
From the PD --
So much for integrity huh? Might spur other cities? Snowball?"I have a legal and moral obligation to protect those residents," McFaul said.
Commissioner Tim Hagan said the county is in a financial crisis because of declining revenues and foreclosures and may not be able to increase McFaul's budget. Doing so might spur more cities to seek help, Hagan added.
"If we open it up to discussion, it could snowball," he said. More...
What's wrong Timmy - the reality of reform & regionalization setting in? Does that moral obligation stuff the sheriff speaks about have you stumped? Being asked to back up your mouth sucks- huh?
So readers can get a better idea about the career politician who is also known as "Taxin Tim," I will
give a little run down on Hagan the Hypocrite --- I believe it was 1979 when Hagan was Democrat Party Chairman of Cuyahoga County that he vehemently opposed a reform movement that was much better than the one he is trying to push on us now.
- Hagan was against placing the forced sales tax increase for the MedMart (MMPI) plan on the ballot so the voters could decide. Hagan is related to the Kennedy's through marriage.
Chris Kennedy, president of MMPI, is the grandson of bootlegger Joe Kennedy and son of the late Robert F. Kennedy.
- Hagan was the driving force, at the county level, behind the scrapping of millions of dollars of voting equipment then voted to award an illegal contract to ES&S to lease more equipment for one election. The county is currently looking to purchase or lease equipment again. Hagan is friends with Tom Hayes - a lobbyist representing ES&S.
- Hagan, after being elected, allowed the Port Authority to commission their own study on relocation after the previous commissioners and City of Cleveland demanded an outside third party conduct the study. Developer John Carney stands to benefit most from this.
Hagan is his brother in law and cast the tie breaking vote having Carney reappointed on the Port Authority Board.
In everyone of the above items Hagan claimed he was doing what is best for Cleveland and Cuyahoga County - it looks more like he has been doing what is best for himself!
Hagan the Hypocrite is selling this reform movement, the first misstep towards regionalization, as what is best for Cleveland and Cuyahoga County. If passed, will we all get the same answer given to the Village of North Randall - go pound salt!?!
And why is this guy running unopposed this year?
Hagan IS a career politician. He never worked a real job in his life.
ReplyDeletetwo things: why isn't hagan speaking out against creating a new airport police force? this is gonna cost the residents of the city of cleveland at least 2.5 million dollars per year according to statements made by safety director martin flask to the charter review commission. doesn't this directly contradict the very reason for pursuing the concept of regionalism (they're creating a new police force instead of eliminating the unnecessary duplication of services).
ReplyDeleteand two: you should add that hagan left the board of commissioners to run for governor against taft and lost in a landslide. then he comes back and runs against fellow democrat tim mccormack who had supported hagan in his gubernatorial run against taft. heh heh, those democrats are a loyal bunch, aren' they? THANKS OLE BUDDY!
The answer to your question King is because Debbie and Timmy are bosom buddies.
ReplyDeleteI know the question was rhetorical, but it needed to be said.
You are right!
ReplyDeleteShould this reform movement get more legs - their connection will be broadcasst from the mountain top. They want to reduce patronage yet in a way, why she is running against PLJ and not Hagan is just as bad!
