Blackwell Bonuses Illegal

It looks like an old knee injury is acting up again!

The rising star of our party, State Auditor Mary Taylor, completed her report on the "Nova" of our party - former Secretary of State Ken "Black Eye" Blackwell - and the illegal bonuses he gave some employees after he was shamelessly & soundly thrashed by almost a million votes.

Taylor, concluded and confirmed these bonuses were illegal. And of course, Blackwell has an excuse - other people did it too! Hey Ken - I know people that jumped of a bridge.... why didn't you do that instead!

Below is my post when Blackwell gave out these illegal bonuses. Damn - it really is good to be the King!

WEEE!

This is fun - A bonus for everyone!

Is this guy for real? What world does he live in? Did he forget he lost? How can this guy justify giving out year end bonuses to his employees? These were bonuses were higher than all previous ones handed out. His office is the ONLY state office giving out bonuses.

I guess losing by ONE MILLION votes wasn't enough of an embarrassment, so he gives out bonuses to make more republicans hate him. Nothing like giving the dems a TON of more ammo to use against us. More....

Will Hillrod "Blackwell" rest of democrat ticket?

The democrats are finally listening to the Republicans about the trickle down effect.... only it's not about the economy, it's about Hillrod.

From Breitbart --

Looking past the presidential nomination fight, Democratic leaders quietly fret that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton at the top of their 2008 ticket could hurt candidates at the bottom.

They say the former first lady may be too polarizing for much of the country. She could jeopardize the party's standing with independent voters and give Republicans who otherwise might stay home on Election Day a reason to vote, they worry. More....

The dems must have taken note of the Ohio Governor's race when million vote loser, Ken Blackwell, an anchor candidate, dragged the rest of the GOP ticket.

Proof Blackwell was wrong on leasing Turnpike / Republicans owe an apology

You know, it sure feels good to be the King!

Many of us remember Blacksmells attempt to lease our toll roads. Many Blacksmell bobble headed bloggers could not wait to line up behind Ken to tout this misguided plan.

Some may remember me being adamantly against this mindless proposal.

Here in our own party, Blacksmell attacked long time RPCC members in his scorched earth campaign. Many in our party, not having a spine, supported this idea and allowed the party censure of longtime, loyal party member. This person was simply defending himself against attacks and spoke out against the poor idea of leasing our toll roads.

It looks like our party owes somebody an apology!

From WND --

Investment analysts in New York and Australia charge that Macquarie, the Australian conglomerate leasing U.S. toll roads, is a "house of cards" that has made billions by spinning off the highway assets into over-valuated investment trusts controlled by the bank.

Titled "The Fatal Flaw in the Financing of Private Road Infrastructure in Australia," the paper argued equity investors in Macquarie investment trusts are likely to suffer heavy losses by excessive valuations Macquarie makes of financed toll roads that are packaged together to be sold to pension funds and other institutional investors.

Goldberg also argued that government guarantees on Macquarie projects are often buried in the confidential part of toll road "comprehensive development agreements," such that the public taxpayer liability only comes to light when a toll road project fails. More....

Rumor has it Blacksmell might run against Rinovich. Let's hope he does! Maybe they can both RUN right out of Ohio!

Ken, please take your Cuyahoga County Coordinator with you!

Hello, Hello? Damn phone is STILL broke! Now how about that apology!?!

More on Blackwells - Gun Laws are Racist

This is an update of an earlier post I had about Blackwell's Town Hall column.

The more I think about it - Lets see, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. & Medgar Evans - two icons in the civil rights movement, Bobby Kennedy a strong civil rights supporter and Malcolm X leader of the Black Muslims - ALL assassinated with a GUN!

Sorta makes you want to ask - What the hell was Blackwell thinking?

I see Bill over at The Daily Bellweather has found some enlightening facts about Blackwell's " Deacons For Defense" --

Ken Blackwell In Towhall: Stretching The Truth?

CINCINNATI (TDB) -- Ohio's former Republican Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, fresh off his loss in the race for governor, has been refashioning himself as a conservative Townhall.com pundit. He tells an interesting story this week about black southerners in small Louisiana towns who armed themselves and refused to be cowed by the Klan. He writes, "Unfortunately, these freedom fighters are seldom mentioned as an important part of African-American history.

"Oh, really?

Google "Deacons For Defense Louisiana." Nearly 39,000 hits appear, including reviews and background about a MOVIE that tells the story of Blackwell's "seldom mentioned freedom fighters." More...

And of course the democrats can't get enough of Blackwell's wisdom over at Buckeye State Blog.

Blackwell: A three-day waiting period/background check for the purchase of a firearm is racist
Submitted by modernesquire on Wed, 02/07/2007 - 10:00am.

Apparently, Ken Blackwell has decided that his only way to remain political relevant and feed his delusions of grandeur is to try and build a name for himself within the conservative community as one of the right's foremost thinkers. I think his latest column at TownHall.com comes woefully short. More......

-----------------------------------------------------

Th, th, th, then we can't forget about the Blackwell for President Blog (RAB). Where of course they support "Black Eye" Blackwell's echoing assertion that the second amendment aided in the civil rights movement.

I can't wait until Uncle Ken tells us the story on how global warming is racist too!

Blackwell a Boogey Man?

Secretary of state wants office audited
Tuesday, February 06, 2007
Plain Dealer

Columbus- Ohio's new secretary of state asked for an audit of her office Monday, saying she is concerned about several discoveries since taking over from Ken Blackwell last month.

Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner requested a two-year review of the office and a narrow financial audit of the past six months, when she says Blackwell spent nearly 70 percent of the office's annual budget just midway through the fiscal year.

Monty Lobb, who was a top aide to Blackwell, said Brunner seems intent on continuing to attack Blackwell, the unsuccessful Republican nominee for governor, months after the election. More...

APPEAL FROM NEW SECRETARY OF STATE
Audit of Blackwell office requested

Tuesday, February 06, 2007
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

The new secretary of state, Jennifer L. Brunner, hand-delivered a letter yesterday to Auditor Mary Taylor seeking a top-tobottom review of the office’s finances and operations.

She also cites more than $80,000 in bonuses Blackwell paid to departing employees, a depleted budget and 50,000 unsent letters to businesses canceling their corporate charters, with a suspicion that Blackwell destroyed or removed the envelopes.

But Monty Lobb, Blackwell’s assistant secretary of state, said there was no inappropriate shredding and that Brunner’s staff member who said she saw it fell asleep during an orientation meeting.

Lobb accused Brunner of playing politics and trying to use Blackwell as "a boogeyman." More...

----------------------------------------------------

Is Femi-Nazi new election chief, Secretary of State Jennifer Brunhilda, still playing politics?

Maybe she is ignoring the obvious of why 70% of the money is spent. The PD also reported -

heavy spending during the first six months of the fiscal year was due in part to the defense of election lawsuits brought against the state by Brunner's "Democratic cronies."

Let's just hope there is nothing to the "paper shredding" as the "Bush stole the election" conspiracy nuts already have Blackwell and former Cuyahoga County BOE Director Vu in cahoots with each other to steal the election.

Blackwell has caused our party enough damage, let's hope he does not give us a black eye again.

Blackwell's Views on Racist Gun Control Measures

Looking through sites, I was trying to find stupid things said by stupid politicians.

Then I noticed that Ken Blackwell had his writers draft another story for his column at Town Hall. In his column, Blackwell's researchers bring up some good points on the history of the Civil Rights movement and the role firearms had in supposedly protecting African-Americans during the hey day of the Ku Klux Klan.

I say supposedly because Blackwell has a history, when speaking or writing columns, of embellishing or spinning the facts to make his "stories" better. But being pro-gun and strongly supporting our second amendment rights, I wanted to read it anyway.

At first, I was thinking how it was a very informative column and the importance the second amendment played in founding and the subsequent growing up of our country. Then as usual "Black eye Blackwell" does it AGAIN!

That gun rights have played such a pivotal role in racial equality makes the historical correlation between gun control and discriminatory policies unsurprising.

From their beginnings, gun control measures have worked to create legal disparities, granting unequal rights to members of various socioeconomic groups. In fact, restrictive gun laws have long been employed to the benefit of a select elite while circumscribing the liberty of populations less popular or less powerful.

Gun control measures, from the slave gun bans of the 1700s South to the Brady Bill regulations of the 1990s have unfairly targeted black Americans and have worked to curtail a disproportionate number of their constitutional rights.

Now I can accept that gun control measures from the slave gun bans unfairly targeted black Americans, I have to ask; How do the Brady Bill regulations curtail the rights of black Americans?

The Brady Bill regulations tried to curtail the rights of ALL legal gun owners.

Is Ken trying to say that MORE guns should be brought in to the predominately black neighborhoods?

I think it would be fairly accurate to say most inner cities, black, white or latino, where poverty abounds and crime is high, the feelings would be there are to many guns. There have been many studies performed showing the negative effect of guns and crime among inner city African-Americans.

I know that many "black Americans" living in the inner city of Cleveland, feels there are to many guns in the hands of young black males. Had Ken spent anytime in Cleveland, he would have known this. Obviously, this was not a topic of discussion when he had his photo-ops with the black clergy from this area.

Blackwell's attempt to turn gun control into a "racism" issue, shows he really is out of touch with reality and the black voters, that he claims abandoned him.

"Black Eye" Blackwell At It Again

Once again Ken Blackwell's childish behavior gives democrats more reasons to complain about Bad Republicans!

The Plain Dealer reported --- business owners can take heart that 50,000 letters left behind by former Secretary of State and failed Republican candidate for governor Ken Blackwell are finally arriving in mailboxes throughout Ohio.

The letters, dated Jan. 4 and signed by Blackwell, advise businesses that their articles of incorporation have been canceled because they either haven't filed corporate tax returns or paid their tax bills.

NEW Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, blames the delay on Blackwell, saying her staff discovered the letters on Jan. 17 and contends that Blackwell's office destroyed envelopes...

"This is something that was supposed to be completed before we ever came into office," said Patrick Gallaway, a spokesman for Brunner.

And here is the typical Blackwell response --

Blackwell's former chief deputy said that no senior managers authorized the destruction of any envelopes.... "There's no way," Monty Lobb said.

"It's unfortunate - she just continues to play politics." He said Brunner fired the manager who had been overseeing the mailings...

"It makes no logical sense why he would sabotage something," Lobb said.

No logical sense? Nothing Ken Blackwell did during the election made sense, why would he start now!

Why would he sabotage something? Because Blackwell is a poor loser, childish, vindictive, and still blames his embarrassing loss on everyone but himself.

Gallaway said the office had the letters but no envelopes. "We were told they did have envelopes and they were somehow taken out of here and disposed of," he said.....

It is pretty sad when I believe a democrat over a republican! But in light of Blackwell's actions during and after the election, I could never believe the man again.

How a man conducts himself in victory and in defeat is a good measure of their character.

Unfortunately, his conduct during the campaign and after the election, makes me happy Blackwell did not win. This is not a man we want leading our party as he has no leadership skills!

Mr Blackwell's columns on Town Hall are nothing more then pretty conservative catch phrases that try to justify the reasons of his loss.

And since he intends to remain in Ohio politics "Black Eye" Blackwell will do nothing but continue to divide and do irreparable harm to our party.

More Blackwell Babble

On Keeping Perspective and Beginning Again
By Ken Blackwell January 23, 2007 Reposted from; Town Hall

Although Los Angeles Dodgers’ center fielder Willie Davis was widely considered the fastest man in baseball throughout the 1960s and 70s, he is perhaps more often remembered for a remark he made following game two of the 1966 World Series against the Baltimore Orioles.

In the fifth inning Davis committed three errors on two consecutive plays. L.A. lost the game 8 to 4 and was swept in the series. When asked about his less than stellar performance, Davis dryly remarked, “It ain’t my life, and it ain’t my wife, so why worry?” Even more important than his amazing speed, Davis had extraordinary perspective.

More than once since the release of the November 7, 2006 general election results, I’ve given some thought to Mr. Davis’ quip.... While the results of the 2006 election represent a temporary set back to me......

In more than thirty years of pubic service one thing I have learned is that the only way a cause is truly lost is if the army is scattered and resolved to defeat. We are not defeated. Indeed, there is still work to do. More...

Ken Blackwell is the former Secretary of State of Ohio.

----------------------------------------------

This guy ceases to amaze me! Blackwell of all people wants to compare his election to a team sport?

Ken Blackwell does not even understand the basic concept of being on a "Team". In thirty years he learned pretty darn good how to SCATTER an army!

We are not defeated? ONE MILLION VOTES

He thinks he has more work to do? There is no doubt this man intends to run for office again.

He can't even get his story straight - LA got shut out that game much like Ken in his election!

Maybe it it's how he figured the bonuses 9x0= $80,000

1966 World SeriesGame 2
Box Score
For Game 2, the Orioles' Jim Palmer was given the monumental task of keeping pace with Sandy Koufax... Silencing his critics, Baltimore's twenty year-old "underdog" finished on top by allowing only four hits for the 6-0 win. More...

Good story Ken!! Will you please move out of OHIO?

Blackwell in Wonderland

Click here for Toledo Blade Article

This nut job should not be allowed to run for anything more than, to the store! He has caused a deep divide within our party. Has done nothing but reinforce the feelings that the republicans are crooked and nothing but about scandal.

In my opinion, Blackwell did this out of spite for what he perceives as a slight by our party. There could be no other logical excuse for this behavior. He is a hypocrite, poor sport, immature and vindictive. This is not a "Leader" we need in our party.

I guess Blackwell forgot what he wrote in his recent, Conservative Movement Needs Leaders letter. He states...

Conservatism in America is in need of leaders who demonstrate fidelity to principle. Voters across the nation expressed their growing dissatisfaction with Republican leadership.

Adherence to our essential principles by Republican leaders will return conservatism to triumph in our traditional two party system.

The battle conservatives face and must fight is for the recognition of the individual, in both our moral culture and in our marketplace. The human being is set apart by his ability of self-direction.

These statements ARE very true and would be great if he meant them. Too bad Ken does not practice what he preaches and is going in the wrong direction!

Every conservative minded person or republican should email or call the Ohio Republican Party and ask Mr. Bennett to do everything within his power to keep Ken Blackwell out of Ohio politics. This man should never be allowed to run for office in Ohio again!

Other blogs are saying....
You know, on some level it is really an achievement when a politician can get headlines even after they have left office. In Ken Blackwell's case, we shouldn't have been surprised. For those of you joining the party late, lets review what I call the Blackwell Transition Highlights: More...

Nothing like giving the democrats MORE ammo against us -

Jerid at Buckeye State Blog says-
So, if the Republicans EVER complain of fiscal irresponsibility or requests for an increased budget remind 'em about this one:

On his way out the door, former Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell handed 19 of his key employees more than $80,000 in bonuses, even as his replacement, Democrat Jennifer Brunner, said he left her some $1 million short to meet her office’s obligations for this fiscal year. more.....

Then, As Ohio Goes.com, gives another resounding endorsement of Blackwell -

.....8k bonuses. Amazing, huh? ..... “For a lot of the employees, it was almost like a golden parachute,” Brunner told The Columbus Dispatch for a story Wednesday. “I just think that taxpayers’ expectation of how the government operates is that bonuses aren’t generally considered to be something that government does.” More....

Come on Mr. Blackwell, you have to get off! The RIDE is over!
