Absolut Boycott

It looks like the makers of that rancid high powered potato water - Absolut Vodka - are trying to redraw the borders of the United States and Mexico in creating a "perfect world."

In the latest add for the swine swill they have included several states in their recreated borders of Mexico. Since California is taking too long to fall in the ocean, I really don't care if they take it back.

For those of you that don't know.... Mexico has already annexed Mexifornia (formerly California) by infiltrating millions of peach pickers & are still pissed about the butt kicking they were given in the Mexican - American War.

From WND --

A vodka advertisement that put California, Arizona and several other southwestern states within the borders of Mexico "hearkens to a time which the population of Mexico may feel was more ideal," according to the sponsor.

WND reported earlier when a new ad for Absolut vodka reconfigured North America according to the aspirations of many Mexicans, who believe the U.S. Southwest was stolen and should be returned.

Major Hispanic civil rights groups in the U.S., such as the National Council of La Raza, are tied to movements advocating a "reconquista," or reconquest, of territory lost when Mexico signed the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo at the end of the Mexican-American War. More...

Hot Blogger Michelle Malkin lends her wisdom, charm and wit on the border jumping hoochster's. Just in case any of you foggy headed swigger's of this swill are unclear, Malkin translates the company's statement of philosophy for you...

From Michelle Malkin --
The advertising firm that created the Absolut Reconquista ad is Teran/TBWA. Teran is based in Mexico City. The company’s website boasts a pretentious statement of philosophy advocating “disruption” as a “tool for change” and “agent of growth.” (Scroll your mouse over the little buttons in the upper-right margin.) The firm advocates “overturning assumptions and prejudices that get in the way of imagining new possibilities and visionary ideas that help create a larger share of the future.”

Translation: The company advocates overturning borders that get in the way of imagining new maps of North America that help Mexico create a larger share of the continent.

Here is the response from Absolut --

The In An Absolut World advertising campaign invites consumers to visualize a world that appeals to them -- one they feel may be more idealized or one that may be a bit "fantastic." As such, the campaign will elicit varying opinions and points of view. We have a variety of executions running in countries worldwide, and each is germane to that country and that population.

This particular ad, which ran in Mexico, was based upon historical perspectives and was created with a Mexican sensibility. In no way was this meant to offend or disparage, nor does it advocate an altering of borders, nor does it lend support to any anti-American sentiment, nor does it reflect immigration issues. Instead, it hearkens to a time which the population of Mexico may feel was more ideal.

As a global company, we recognize that people in different parts of the world may lend different perspectives or interpret our ads in a different way than was intended in that market. Obviously, this ad was run in Mexico, and not the US -- that ad might have been very different.
Yeah I bet they would run this ad using a Muslim country filled with jihadakaze terrorists!

  1. An ideal world? What a bunch of bullshit. I'm sure that if the tables were turned and we showed of map of them as a conquered province, we'd be accused of racism, imperialism and every other -ism imaginable.

But if it's anti-American, then it's "imaginative" and "visionary."

    Oh, and don't forget "bold."

  3. Probably not the best idea to offend the people that will be doing the bulk of the purchasing.

  4. Hi guys!

Looks like M@ hit it right on the head.

Ben, I'm a whiskey drinker. But it is odd that an ad to be run in Mexico is written in English.
