While some Democrat party leaders and/or pundits claim it is good for their primary process to continue and others say Hillary should just stop now - almost all agree that once the Democrat candidate is selected, they will all rally behind that person.
Polls are saying otherwise...
From Yahoo.com --
In the AP-Yahoo poll — which has tracked the same 2,000 people since November — Barack Obama supporters with negative views of the New York senator have grown from 35 percent in November to 44 percent this month, including one-quarter with very unfavorable feelings.
Those Obama backers who don't like Hillary Rodham Clinton say they would vote for Republican candidate John McCain over her by a two-to-one margin, with many undecided.
As for Clinton supporters, those with unfavorable views of Obama have grown from 26 percent to 42 percent during this same period — including a doubling to 20 percent of those with very negative
opinions.
The Clinton backers with unfavorable views of Obama say they would vote for McCain over him by nearly three-to-one, though many haven't made up their minds. More...
I think these polls are a tad overblown and most people will rally around whoever their nominee is.
ReplyDeleteRepublicans for the most part have unified behind McCain, myself included.
Ben,
ReplyDeleteAll due respect, but to a certain extent I would have to disagree.
As we both know - polls are simply a momentary snapshot in time. The numbers reflected in the polls I think are a simplified general feeling in the democrat party.
I do agree that many in the Dem party will rally around their chosen candidate, but I also believe they show a slow growing unhappiness in their party.
I attribute this mostly to race and a growing resentment of the far left nut bags in the party.
After many years I believe the black voters are slowly opening their eyes and realizing that the Democrats were full of sh** about truly embracing civil rights and "diversity."
There are two main reasons I see that will cause a less than normal amount voters from opposing demcrat candidates to support the other candidate...
1.) Some blacks will either vote for McCain or sit out rather than vote for Hillary (Bill) due to the race card factors from her campaign.
2.) Same thing for Hillary supporters, many of them would never in their lifes vote for a black person - regardless of party. The saavy Rev. Wright is continuing to solidify these feelings among that block.
As for the moron union leaders - they would vote for a rock if it were a democrat.
As for McCain --
So far I believe McCain is campaigning the right way. I believe he was right in asking the NC GOP to take down the Rev. Wright ad.
I think McCain needs to resist pressure for party insiders to jump on the Rev. Wright bandwagon. In my opinion this can be the IED of his campaign.
If fund raising is any indication of how our party is embracing McCain - he is looking like a forgotten step-child.
