Steaming Load of the Week
Steaming Load #1: School district takes a dump on America’s veterans.Worried that the Veterans Day holiday was a complete mystery to their captive student audience, the school board in District 300 (Carpentersville, Illinois) made a command decision to resolve the issue. How? You’re going to be thrilled.
Instead of using this ‘confusion’ as a teachable moment, the school board gave our fighting men and women, past, present and future, the finger by eliminating Veterans Day as an official school holiday. Instead of spending some quality time, teaching the students about the sacrifices our veterans made for our liberty, the school board took a dump on every warrior who put on a uniform, picked up weapon, and went in arm’s way to defend this nation conceived in liberty.
Local veterans groups think this is spiffy, because Veterans Day is an observance, not a holiday. No argument, but this still sticks in our craw, because this change puts the wrong message in those young minds full of mush. It tells them that Veterans Day is no different than any other ‘observance’. It puts the service, the sacrifice, of our warriors on the same level as ‘gay pride day’, ‘black history month’ or ‘armless Albanian albino appreciation day’. It makes the students think that vets are just another group of yahoos clamoring for some ‘undeserved’ attention. Here, in the Free State of PIG, that turd won’t float.
In the Free State of PIG, we think Veterans Day deserves more than ‘business as usual’. Our veterans are special and we need to do more to salute them in our nation’s cess-schools, then squeeze a few relevant sentences into the lesson plan.
This turd stinks and needs to be flushed. Give the kids their holiday from class, then put them in a bus and drive them to the nearest veterans cemetery, where they can get up close and personal with the ultimate sacrifice our vets paid for our liberty...Perpetrated by: Hambo
