Howard Dean to Step Down as DNC Chairman

Boy this sure is good news! Howard Dean is stepping down as DNC Chairman at the end of his term in January 2009.

Even though Dean’s big mouth derailed his Democrat presidential primary bid in 2004 – many Democrat gains were made under his watch. So – idiot or not – Dean set forth on a winning strategy. In fact, you could almost say - Dean kicked some elephant ass!

From The AP --
Dean was the architect of a "50-State Strategy," investing money and staff in every state — including those where Democrats had long fared poorly — to build party infrastructure and lay the groundwork for electoral gains. The Obama campaign, working with DNC organizers in all 50 states, won several states that had not elected a Democratic president in decades, including Virginia, North Carolina and Indiana.

State party chairs were generally thrilled with Dean's approach, while some Democratic leaders in Washington complained early on that the party's money would be better spent helping candidates who had a real chance of winning. More...

The Huffington Post is reporting that, though Dean only intended on serving one term as DNC Chairman, as most chairman do, Barack's new partisan pugilist, Rahm Emanuel, felt Dean did not do a good job and wasted resources on unwinnable races. Most likely Dean's replacement will be - Claire McCaskill, the junior Senator from Missouri and a national co-chair of the Obama campaign

  1. Since I think Huffington is a worthless windbag, I will contradict her and predict Dr. Screamin' Howard will become Barack's Secretary of HHS.

  2. Maybe the next DNC Chairman will be Bob Bennett? He's done a great job bringing back the DEMs here in Ohio!

  3. Anon #1- windbag or windhag?

Anon #2 - I think he might have somecompetition... the RPCC had another stellar year here in Cuyahoga County. The best thing the local dems got going is the RPCC.

  4. You have to give Howard Dean credit. His organization kicked the crap out of the Republicans nationwide. He will get a Administration post. As a pro-gun guy he also kept the 2nd amendment completely out of the presidential debate. The NRA needs to wise up and say...OK the Dem is A+ rating and the Republican is A+ rating....We need to endorse the Republican. period.
