Dead Voters, Homeless Voters & Brunner's love for Obama's Nuts

H/T to Interested Participant for this one.

IP notes -

Previously, investigators found 13,000 dead voters registered in Cuyahoga County and more than two dozen cast ballots. Elections officials said that dead people would be removed from the rolls.

Nevertheless, investigators have found thousands more dead voters on the rolls with their ballots still being cast from the grave.

From News Net 5 --

Among the thousands of graves at Highland Park Cemetery, one modest tombstone stands out.

Alex Holmes Sr. has been at rest in that cemetery for 15 years. But recent election records show he cast a ballot in this year's primary.

And our 5 On Your Side investigation found a home on Cleveland's east side listed as Holmes' address.

Jeremy Moore, Holmes' grandson, was stunned.

"He's deceased. Deceased since 1993," Moore said.

And it doesn't appear to be a name mix-up.

Records reveal Alex Holmes Jr. -- who is still alive -- voted in the same election as his deceased father.

Cuyahoga County Elections Director Jane Platten said she'll look in to it.

I have always said Brunnehilda's main mission was to STEAL the election for whomever their candidate would be. Besides the homeless being allowed to vote without ID or an address and wanting prisoners to vote - Cuyahoga County now has dead people voting!

For more on Brunnehilda's shady tactics Maggie at Thurber's Thoughts shows a clear link between Brunnehilda & her love for Obama's nuts - ACORN.

Obama's Nuts get crunched in Cuyahoga County

It is not often that I think the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections does things right. My biggest beef with them is the voting machines bought on questionably bid contracts. But I believe if you are going to criticize - you must also be willing to point out when something is done right.

The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, under the direction of Chairman Hastings, and with the support of fellow board member & Republican Party of Cuyahoga County Chairman Rob Frost have been very vigilant in their cracking of Obama's nuts at ACORN.

I believe Board of Elections Chairman Jeff Hastings and board member Rob Frost should be commended for standing up to this assault on the integrity of our elections by Obama's minions at ACORN.

From the PD...

Two Cleveland men who each signed multiple registration cards as part of a national voter registration drive told the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections today they did so to help ACORN canvassers keep their jobs.

One of the men said he was sometimes offered a cigarette or a dollar bill by workers with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

Cuyahoga board of elections members learned recently that many ACORN canvassers had quotas and often had to scramble to meet them. Board employees had flagged a number of registration cards handed in by ACORN that showed the same names, but with different addresses or birth dates.

After testifying, both men were led to a private office and were interviewed by Cuyahoga County sheriff's deputies. The board decided during its meeting that it would turn over the ACORN investigation to the sheriff and county prosecutor's office.

So far, Mason has been nothing more than a winged monkey for "Wicked Witch of Ohio," Secretary of State Brunnehilda, and her attempts to hand deliver Ohio to Barack and his community activists.

Frost & Hastings will have their hands full in keeping an eye on our prosecutor Bill Mason. In my opinion, next to SoS Brunner, Mason is the second biggest democrat political hack in the state.

For Hastings & Frost - Good Job!

Wicked Witch of Ohio - SecRATary of State Brunnehilda - Painting Ohio Blue for Barack

Everyone has to give Bob Frantz from WTAM 1100 an – Outstanding!

In his show yesterday Frantz was rightfully railing on how the early voting is nothing more than the Wicked Witch of Ohio, SecRATary of State Jennifer Brunnehilda, hand-delivering Ohio to Obama.

In the first day of early voting Brunnehilda was allowing homeless people to vote and they refused to allow an elections observer witness the early voting taking place at the Cuyahoga County “Bored” of Elections.

A concerned Frantz called Brunehilda’s office for an explanation of how they could be allowing people to vote with no verifiable residence and wanted to know what safety measures were in place to protect against voter fraud.

Jeff Ortega, Brunnehilda’s #1 winged monkey at the SOS office, called back and responded in a truly unbelievable exhibit of deceit and deception. With all the sidestepping and jukes thrown by Ortega, had he been a football player - he would have made Jim Brown look like a Giraffe on Quaaludes.

When Frantz pressed Ortega for an answer as to why there is no election observers – Ortega like a pull the string doll – kept repeating – “the law did not provide for observers.” Ortega did acknowledge that SOS Brunnehilda has ruled since the legislation did not provide for observers – there will be none during early elections.

When questioned on the fact that many homeless people (for liberals that means they have no home) with out ID’s or permanent residence allowed to vote, Ortega stated that elections boards have procedures in place. Frantz pressed forward on what exactly the procedures are and Ortega still stumbled around his repeated trained-dog legislation did not provide for them excuse.

Here is the most incredible part and proof that Brunnehilda and her winged monkeys at the Ohio SOS office are stealing the election for Barack – when asked to name one procedure in place to stop voter fraud, Ortega led Frantz into his next radio commercial!

You got it – after Frantz nailed Ortega’s weasely little election stealing ass to the wall – Ortega said, “well, your producer said, uhm, I know you got other things to talk about and I got to go.”

Cuyahoga County hires law firm in voting machine fight

The Cuyahoga County Commissioners have hired a law firm to represent them in their tiff with Premier/Diebold.

From the PD --
Cuyahoga County commissioners today hired the law firm Calfee, Halter & Griswold to help the elections board in its squabble with Premier Election Solutions.

The county will pay the firm not more than $230,000 for its work, according to the agreement.

Premier, a division of Diebold Inc., beat the county to the punch and sued Cuyahoga and the Ohio Secretary of State's office in May after Cuyahoga replaced Premier equipment following a flawed primary in March 2007.

The secretary of state's office has since countersued Premier. So has Cuyahoga, at the time using the county prosecutor's office for the work.

Cuyahoga Commissioner Tim Hagan said hiring Calfee Halter is an attempt to hold Diebold accountable for its machines.

Hagan the Hypocrite wants to hold Diebold accountable... Well if this isn't the pot calling the kettle black - I don't know what is! Especially when he refuses to be held accountable for the billion dollar boner called the Med Mart he is ramming up the ass of Cuyahoga County voters.

And why isn't anybody running against this guy? I am still waiting for someone to make the case of why we are not targeting the one commissioner up for reelection that has consistently ignored the wishes of Cuyahoga County voters and continually puts more importance on advancing his own personal agenda and that of the Greater Cleveland Partenership.

I guess integrity and doing the right thing has no part in running for office! A second pawn for the GCP is not what we need!

Special Election set for late Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones

Rev. Ted Strickland has scheduled the special election to replace Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones for the remainder of her term will be held on October 14, if needed, depending on the number of candidates.

From the PD --

Tubbs Jones, who represented the 11th Congressional District, died Aug. 20. Her term was to expire at the end of the year. Strickland said earlier this week that he hoped to avoid filling her seat since Congress is not expected to be back in session before January. And, each election is expected to cost about $2.75 million.

However, the governor said in a statement issued Wednesday that a 2004 federal appeals court ruling made it clear he has a mandatory obligation to call an election whenever a congressional seat is vacated.

This will make things very interesting in Cuyahoga County during this years election season. It also opens up many questions on who may file to fulfill her term as the would most likely be the winner in the general election for the following term.

The Republican opponent in the general election is Thomas Pekarek.

Cuyahoga County "Bored of Elections" picks $13.4 million scanning system

From the PD --
The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections picked a new voting system Friday, but it will be up to the county commissioners to approve the deal.

After meeting for six hours, most of that time behind closed doors, the four-member board selected Election Systems & Software's $13.4 million ballot-scanning system. That system was chosen over another scanning system offered by Hart InterCivic for $9.7 million.

The board voted 3-1, with Republican Chairman Jeff Hastings casting the dissenting vote because of the cost. He said he had confidence in the other system.

At one point, the board deadlocked 2-2. Then the board reconvened behind closed doors and Republican Rob Frost changed his vote and sided with Democrats Sandy McNair and Inajo Davis Chappell. More...

I have followed the fleecing of Cuyahoga County residents with the voting machine fiasco very closely - this comes as no suprise! The meeting was nothing more than the usual Cuyahoga County Dog & Pony Show. The decision to use ES&S as the supplier was dictated long ago by SOS Brunner.

The 'nadless Republicans, Frost & Hastings, on the Cuyahoga Co. Board of Erections have continually refused to resist Fuhrer Brunnehilda's strong arming of Cuyahoga County.

For the record - for the primary the BOE & Cuyahoga County Commissioners leased optical scan equipment from ES&S with a no-bid contract. This no-bid contract was awarded claiming ES&S was the sole provider of this equipment. At the time, I challenged the commissioners & the BOE's decision that ES&S was the sole provider of this equipment. Premier (Diebold) and Hart InterCivic offerd the same equipment and were not even considered at this time.

Per the ORC, a request was sent to Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason's office requesting a special prosecutor be appointed to review the awarding of this contract - which he obviously refused. To date nothing has changed. Premier (Diebold) and Hart InterCivic have not had any equipment certified, recertified or decertified since that time.

SO.... if Premier (Diebold) & Hart InterCivic were refused in the bidding process for the primary election - why would they be allowed to bid or even be considered for this contract?

Cuyahoga County BOE & New Voting Machines - AGAIN!

Cuyahoga residents - assume the position AGAIN! It is time for another "Voting Booth" boning...

The Cuyahoga County "Bored" of Elections is reviewing voting equipment to replace the illegal central count scanners, the county was forced to lease from ES&S for this past primary election.

And here we are AGAIN...

From the PD --
The winner will supply the county its third voting system to be used in the last three major elections. More than $22 million in county and federal tax dollars have been spent on machines since 2005.

The board might lease equipment this time because many newer voting machines presented on Friday won't be certified for use in Ohio before the election.

The companies -- Premier Election Solutions, Election Systems & Software and HartInterCivic -- provided a range of options to consider, including lease, purchase and lease-with-intent-to-buy plans. Costs ranged from $1.7 million to $15.7 million.

The central count scanners and equipment leased for the primary was done by illegally awarding ES&S the contract under orders from Ohio Stormtrooper of State - Fuhrer Brunnehilda.

Why do I feel it was illegal?

First - when using optical scanners, per HAVA, a scanner is to be at EACH precinct so it is assured the ballot was filled out properly by the voter. The intent of this is so each voter knows their ballot was properly filled out, will be counted and not rejected when it reaches downtown - the central scanner.

Furthermore, in Brunnehilda recommended AGAINST central based scanning in her federally funded Everest Report.... (bold added)

Based on the EVEREST report, Brunner made a number of recommendations to Governor Ted Strickland and Ohio legislators, including elimination of DREs, a move to centralized ballot counting, institution of "no-fault" absentee voting, and development of new early and election-day voting centers. (Source: Computer World 1/14/08)
Second - The contract was awarded using the "sole provider" clause in ORC 307.86 -
  • (B)(1) The purchase consists of supplies or a replacement or supplemental part or parts for a product or equipment owned or leased by the county, and the only source of supply for the supplies, part, or parts is limited to a single supplier.
ES&S was NOT the "sole provider" of this equipment. Fuhrer Brunnehilda ruled the Premier Election Solutions (formerly Diebold) touch screens we were using, were no longer allowed to be used in Cuyahoga County.

The other 87 counties in OH were allowed to use P.E.S. touch screen machines but were forced to also offer paper ballots for ES&S optical scan machines. Fuhrer Brunnehilda never decertified the use of P.E.S. as a supplier in Ohio and never decertified their touch screen equipment or the P.E.S. optical scan equipment.

Even in light of this, our county commissioners leased central-based scanners, which are not allowed by law, from ES&S as a "sole provider" - when they were not!

Immediately after the awarding of this contract I sent a letter to Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason asking that he appoint a "special prosecutor" to investigate the legalities of awarding this contract.

I also requested that he conduct a criminal investigation as to why BOE Director Jane Platten began removing the old equipment 2 weeks prior to Brunnehilda issuing her directive. After several weeks & numerous calls to the prosecutors office - the day before the primary I received my answer... Ha Ha - Not a chance, sorry for your luck!

The Propaganda Dealer (Plain Dealer) article continues with...

Scanners leased for that balloting -- for $1.5 million from ES&S -- replaced $21 million touch-screen voting machines, made by Premier, that were scrapped in December.

For fall, the board is shopping for "precinct-based" scanners that notify voters at the polls if their ballots contain errors. The central-count method was banned because it doesn't give that alert.

There is a slight chance the county still can use the central-count method. Three of the four board members -- excluding Rob Frost -- sent a letter to Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, urging her to ask lawmakers to permit central-count voting in November. Permission would give the board more choices, and members could retain equipment used in March at a discount.

Did RPCC Chairman & BOE member Rob Frost grow a set of 'nads & BOE Chairman Jeff Hastings lose his?

Though Frost has not been portrayed in the best of light on here recently, and rightfully so, I believe in giving credit where credit is due... Frost is right for not joining this ridiculous request!

This leads me to many questions that Brunnehilda and county officials must be forced to answer -

  1. If ES&S is the only approved sole provider of this equipment - why are we entertaining bids from other companies?

  2. Why are you now allowing the same companies that were not allowed to bid for the lease of optical equipment in the primary election bid in this lease or purchase?

  3. Can you please specify the date(s) any of these companies had their optical scanning equipment certified, decertified and/or recertified?

  4. If precinct based scanners were not to be used, by law, in the primary or the general election - why are you requesting to use them again?

  5. Will the residents of Cuyahoga County at least get kissed in this latest screwing?
Why do I feel the answer for #5 will be the same as the one from Mason.... Ha Ha - Not a chance, sorry for your luck!

Cuyahoga County Voters - Furhrer Brunnehilda LIED, your vote may not have counted!

How can this be? We just threw away $23 million in voting equipment so this did not happen!

I thought Furhrer Brunnehilda said her switch to optical scanners would assure all our votes were counted in Cuyahoga County. The day I voted, I was told my vote would count. When asked what if when it goes downtown there is a problem with it - how will I know? They said - don't worry every vote will count! This was reaffirmed by a poll judge at two locations.

All the voting guru's and studies recommended that scanners be present at EACH polling location when using this method of voting, the arrogant and ignorant hack Brunnehilda chose to ignore this advice - because she is smarter than everyone.

From Ohio.com --

Elections officials in Ohio's most populous county say about 1 percent of the 406,450 votes cast in the March 4 presidential primary couldn't be scanned because of rips or imprecise marks that might invalidate the ballot.

The Cuyahoga County board of elections voted today to accept its staff report on ballots that were kicked out of vote-counting scanners and had to be checked individually.

The report said that most of the 4,371 votes kicked out by scanners and requiring ''remake'' reviews had been damaged, or had votes for multiple candidates for the same office.

Director Jane Platten says the bipartisan staff reviews determined ''voter intent'' in almost all cases and sent about one dozen cases to the full board for a final resolution.

Boy I can't wait until November! Go ahead and give her another (JFK) Just Fooled Kuyahoga Award!

Democrats on Cuyahoga County BOE get suckered by Furher Brunnehilda

After being hoodwinked into supporting Fuhrer Brunnehilda's blitzkrieg of the Kuyahoga Kounty "Bored" of Elections - Democrat Board member, Sandy McNair is looking for the recent JFK (Just fooled Kuyahoga) Award winner to be the "Thought Police."

The mindless McNair does not realize they been had! Had by the election Nazi herself!

From The PD --

About 17,100 Republicans and 3,000 Democrats in Cuyahoga County switched parties in the March 4 primary, the county Board of Elections found during an investigation of whether voters lied when they signed affidavits pledging allegiance to their new party.

But Ohio's elections chief warned Tuesday against prosecuting any of these 20,119 "crossover" voters because doing so could be a violation of free-speech rights.

"I would be very hesitant to move forward in a criminal investigation," Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner said before giving a speech at John Carroll University. "At what point are you going to start getting into censorship?" More...

I cannot believe that after goose-stepping through Cuyahoga County and threatening election board members across Ohio that Fuhrer Brunnehilda would be concerned at all about violating free-speech or worried about censorship. She censored every persons voice that spoke out against her brown shirt tactics and manipulation of these past elections.

Furher Brunnehilda has accomplished the first task of getting Hillary elected - she stole the Ohio primary for her. This is why she will refuse to address any cross over votes.

Funny how the Democrats were blind in not seeing how Brunner's actions directly influenced their primary for the benefit of fellow gal pal Hillahag. Now they cry foul because O'Dumbo lost the Ohio primary.

Democrat Board members on Cuyahoga County BOE will see they were pawns for Furher Brunnehilda

You would think the democrats on the Cuyahoga County Bored of Elections would be more worried about all the provisional ballots that were thrown around on the floor and not counted on election night - but NO they want to blame local Republicans for the fix Furher Brunner had in for Hillary.

From the PD --
The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections has launched an investigation that could lead to criminal charges against voters who maliciously switched parties for the March 4 presidential primary.

Elections workers will look for evidence that voters lied when they signed affidavits pledging allegiance to their new party. And at least one board member, Sandy McNair, a Democrat, wants the county prosecutor to review the findings.

Mason has ignored a request to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the illegal contract given to ES&S and that BOE Director Platten illegally removed county equipement (electronic voting machines) a week before Brunnehilda issued her tie breaking vote - I am sure he will ignore this.

Chappell & McNair are going to finally see Furher Brunner pulled the wool over their eyes too. They will see they too were only pawns in the Furher's quest to rig the Ohio vote for Hillary.

Furher Brunnehilda won't touch this fight with a 10' pole or the broom she rides on.

Ohio GOP Cries Foul!

Ohio GOP Deputy Chairman Kevin DeWine is crying over spilled milk - AGAIN! Dewine issued a statement that the Ohio GOP will ask political hack, Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason to investigate the transporting of ballots.

I have to ask - Deputy Chairman DeSwine, why the sudden interest in Cuyahoga County?

You guys did not seem to care when Brunnehilda launched her attack using GOP Chairman Bob Bennett's head as a spring board... why now?

You guys said nothing when Brunnehilda illegally forced our county to scrap $23 million in voting equipment.... why now?

From Openers --

According to Ohio Revised Code Section 3505.25(E), ballots are required to be transported by "members of different political parties," the statement said. But county elections officials now acknowledge those guidelines were not followed, it stated.

The chairman of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections acknowledged to reporters that it appears ballots were not transported today in accordance with state law, the GOP said.

"This is a serious breach of ballot security," said Ohio Republican Party Deputy Chairman Kevin DeWine." Jennifer Brunner took full responsibility for implementing these policies in Cuyahoga County, and she failed to follow through on the basic procedures for protecting the vote. An investigation of this neglect is critical to restoring voter confidence."

Attached to the GOP's e-mailed new release were five photographs that the GOP statement said " demonstrate the unsecure ballot collection process, including loosely taped cardboard boxes, the chaotic ballot counting process and ballot collection forms clearly indicating Republicans were not involved in the transportation of ballots.

The statement said that a Republican observer at the central count location reports 10% of the boxes of ballots arriving are showing stickers not affixed over the slots (meaning ballots could conceivably be inserted). Officials have cut down the access to the observers and they are not allowed in and around the process.

You have to wonder if the state party is even paying attention....

Chairman of the Cuyahoga County BOE, Jeff Hastings, was on Fox acknowledging this "minor"infraction. Jeff stated he was unaware of the specific incident at the time, but it does not suprise him. Jeff indicated that he was not concerned over security.... even though they were all democrats transporting the ballots - each person is sworn and he has no reason to believe they would do anything illegal.

Unless something came up after this interview questioning the security of these ballots being transported - I fail to see the problem. I believe we (Republicans) only had one contested primary for republicans in Cuyahoga County - District 10 with Jim Trakas being challenged by the mentally challenged Jason Werner. Helen Keller can count thise votes and see Trakas easily defeated Werner (Thank God & Good job Jim!).

If he wants to cry, he should cry to Bennett. He is the one that caused the events to allow the start of Furher Brunnehilda's gestapo tactics.

Furher Brunnehilda meets with Election Officials

With a wave of her craggy finger, the Wicked Witch of the south, SecRATary of State Brunnehilda, ordered all Ohio election officials to immediately begin using the Nazi salute to greet her and that she will now be addressed as Furher Brunnehilda.

Goose-stepping to the dais, Furher Brunnehilda barked her orders to election officials that they WILL follow her directive of having optical scanners or else! As Germany mistakenly went in to Russia on the orders of the nut job Hitler, Ohio will make the same mistake on Furher Brunnehilda's orders to use the optical scanners of her Mussolini - Tom Hayes & E.S. & S.

Taking time from her battle plan of winning Ohio for Komrade Hillary, Das Furher was not in the mood to field questions on her directive, but at least she made this meeting! Most of the election officials mumbled quietly about this ill-fated decision. This guy will most likely be turned into a toad for daring to speak his mind....

From the PD --

"I think what we really need in the system is stability," said Mark Munroe, a Republican member of the Mahoning County Board of Elections. "I think we need to be left alone for a couple of years so that we can get it right."

His remarks drew applause and he went on to say that paper ballots and optical scanning may not be the solution to voting problems.

"Is this going to lead to a question?" Brunner interrupted.

"Excuse us," someone in the crowd muttered.

And if any of these officials defy the exalted one's directive? They get a one way ticket on a box car to nowhere....

At least three counties -- Fulton, Union and Hardin -- have balked at printing extra ballots. Brunner on Tuesday formally gave Hardin County's election board until later this month to change its mind.

"I'll try to negotiate with them," Brunner told reporters after her speech. "But if they refuse to comply I'll have to look at what my options are. I have the ability to remove board members. It's something I really don't want to do."

She earlier told election officials that if they don't have the money to pay for printing ballots and their county commissioners won't provide more, they can go to court to force funding.

And who do we thank for giving Brunnehilda a free pass - none other than Blob Bennett, GOP Chairmen.

Playing partisan politics with a partisan hack, Bennett, claiming he was doing what's best for our party, got the letter saying he was a good boy at Cuyahoga County BOE and in turn anointed Brunnehilda the Furher of Ohio elections!

Cuyahoga County Voters to get Bent Over Today!

Over the weekend I went and ate lunch with my buddy from the Cuyahoga County Democrat Party. During our meal talk eventually turned to politics and he became very upset!

First he was upset over SoS Brunnehilda's throwing away $23 million in good voting equipment and the vote expected by the Cuyahoga County Commisioners to give E.S. & S. an estimated $3 million no bid contract for optical scanners. This deal is the epitome of partisanship and the corruption of the CuyaHOGa County demohacks.

What made him more livid was the partisan politics, and the impending vote today of the democrat CuyaHOGa commissioners - all democrats. As expected, our demohack SoS Brunnehilda will be using her take over the Cuyahoga County B.O.E. to potentially effect the presidential election....

From a pissed off Cuyahoga County Democrat --

On Monday, the County Commissioners are expected to vote on the contract to approve funding for the optical machines that Brunner has mandated. From my intelligence, Peter Lawson Jones is expected to vote no on the contract.

Allegedly, the motive for the "no" vote is that because he believes Brunner (who supports Hilary) is requiring this switch in order to suppress the minority vote for Obama in Cuyahoga County.

Peter "I used to work at Lawson's' Jones better be careful! In fact he may just want to carry a bucket of water around with him.

You never know - The Wicked Witch of the South, Brunnehilda, may just have her winged monkeys, Hagan and Dimora (because of 'extra cargo,' Dimora has 2 sets of extra wings and a rocket booster to help get airborne.) cart him away and have him replaced with the Wicked Witch of the North.

Cuyahoga County Bored of Elections - Day Late and $30 Million Short(er)

Brunnehilda will definitely get a happy face sticker from the democrats for this one!

In the latest news from the Cuyahoga County Bored of Elections we learn the forced switch to optical scanners will take longer to count our votes. Will this longer time assure an accurate, untampered with vote count? HELL NO!

In my opinion, I would say the new scanners will allow for more possibilities of voter fraud and vote tampering. Causing me to eat 4 bottles of aspirin and pondering brain surgery - I find myself agreeing with the ACLU!

At a $30 million dollar price tag & hell bent on delivering Ohio to the dems in the '08 presidential election, Brunnehilda has assured Cuyahoga County will be no problem!

1-2-3.... Will a vote count from me?

4-5-6.... Hey, I heard these optical scanners can do tricks!

7-8-9.... Don't worry, Brunnehilda say's they'll do fine!
(maybe just a little illegal)

From the PD --
The county expects to count about 400,000 paper ballots the day of the primary with about 15 optical scanners. Board of Elections Director Jane Platten said the process won't be finished until the morning of March 5 at the earliest.

Voting rights activists dislike the system because voters are not alerted when they fill out a ballot incorrectly. The county's old touch-screen system notified voters before they cast their ballot.

ACLU lawyer Carrie Davis said the new system violates a state law that prohibits counties from buying machines that don't alert voters who invalidate their ballots by selecting too many candidates in a race.

Scrapping our current voting system = $21 million

New system = $9 million

No bid contract for illegal scanners = Business as usual in Cuyahoga County!

Cuyahoga County Bored of Elections

I need some help... I am trying to figure out what is a bigger joke - voting in Cuyahoga County or the democrat leaders that have run this area into the ground.

Secretary of State Brunnehilda who now oversees the Cuy. Co. Bored of Elections wants to force the BOE into changing back, to optical scanners and paper ballots. This last minute change goes against all common sense, ignores previous problems we had with optical scanners and is contrary to recommendations from her own consultants.

Brunnehilda, in keeping true to her marionette form of partisanship for the ODP, wants to scrap a system that we have spent tons of money on in training poll workers for and go with an unproven system from her friends at Election Systems & Software.

Here is where we get to the corruption dripping partisanship from Brunnehilda... ES & S has hired Tom Hayes. Hayes was the lapdog for US Rep. Stephanie Tubbs-Jones and the Cuyahoga Election Review Panel (CERP) and worked as a consultant for the BOE during the 2006 election.
Hayes has admitted he came into favor with E.S. & S. management during the time he served on CERP. Hayes is now leading the charge for E.S. & S......
Board of Elections leadership this week was presented with a plan to implement an optical-scan system made by Election Systems & Software by the time of the primary. The presentation was given by Tom Hayes, who represents the Omaha, Neb.-based election equipment maker. Hayes is a former Cuyahoga County administrator and former director of the county's elections board.
Knowing the residents of Cuyahoga County never say anything when they are bent over by the democrats - she wants to give Hayes & E.S. & S. a no-bid contract for the questionable equipment.

BOE President Jeff Hastings (R), noting a study by the Colorado Secretary of State that the equipment Brunnehilda wants to buy is unreliable, threw up a red flag on Brunnehilda's strong arm attempts of forcing the board to give a no-bid contract for defective equipment.....

"This leaves us wide open to a lawsuit, and I would not want to defend it," Hastings said.

"We are being asked by the Secretary of State to swap one defective system for another," Hastings said.

By using Chinese math, smoke from her cauldron and a couple of cracked mirrors, Brunnehilda and the democrats on the BOE are trying to sell us this swamp land of an idea as only costing $3 million. When fact and simple English math shows real monetary cost of this switch at over $30 million....

  • Scrapping of a $21 million investment into the electronic touch-screen system we have now - plus monies spent on initial training and extra training for poll workers, etc...

  • Spending an initial $3 million to revert back to optical scanners that we have had problems with in previous elections and studies show to be unreliable.

  • Plus an estimated $6 million in new training and incidental costs associated with the switch.
RPCC chairmen Rob Frost, who also serves on the BOE, rightfully expressed his concern over Brunnehilda, while ready to throw away an over $21 million investment, not even showing up for the meeting or sending a representative. Brunnehilda is only able to respond with partisan attacks.....

"Where is she today?" questioned Frost, who heads the Cuyahoga County Republican Party.

"What did she have on her schedule?"

Brunner said that she was disappointed by Frost's comments and that they created partisan drama that the county does not need.

"What's disappointing is I took a chance on Rob," she said. "He confirmed his critics' worst fears."
If Frost wanted to make a partisan attack he could have easily responded with, "Secratary of State Brunnehilda was unable to make the meeting because of a flat tire ~ on her BROOM."

Proving the democrats on the Cuyahoga County Bored of Elections haven't a single clue, democrat board member Inajo Davis Chappell takes the cake with this "My head has been in the sand" wisdom --

Chappell said she thought it best to buy new equipment now, rather than risk implementing it before the November presidential election.

"I don't want to be the laughingstock of the nation in March or November," she said.

Someone needs to ring the Retard Alert Bell and tell Chappell - We already are the laughingstock of the nation! We pretty much sealed that award up during the recent '07 November election.

Under the leadership & watchful eye of Brunnehilda & her flunky BOE director - Jane Platten, during this past November election, which had only a measly 15% turnout,
they screwed up again.

While Brunnehilda is wrong for placing blame on the machines, wanting to spend millions on a no-bid contract for her lobbyist friend, and wanting to buy a problem plagued optical scanners, who allowed this to happen? It is the same DAMN people crying foul now!

The same people that sat like deaf mutes when ORP chairman Bob Bennett had his ego spat with Brunnehilda and was sent to his room can now go thank him for GIVING Brunnehilda control of the Cuyahoga County Bored of Elections.

Much to the dismay of other RPCC members I was very vocal about the harm Bennett was causing by placing his ego before sound elections and our party and I was right!

Kuyahoga Kounty Still Has Voting Problems

Fox 8 News reported that some voters in Bedford Heights were unable to vote when they showed up at 6:30 a.m. at the Jimmy Dimora Center. Bedford Heights is having a heated Mayoral race and will be voting for school board members.

.....polls were supposed to open at 6:30 a.m., machines were not set up and poll workers say they didn't have some of the supplies they needed to help people vote.

Gina Thompson was also hoping to be among the first to vote.

"They said that they hadn't gone through a setup during the night, because I guess you are suppose to go through some kind of setup or test the night before, and that hadn't happened," Thompson said.

Christine Byers was in charge of one of the three precincts at the center. "The worker that was assigned to the machines, it was her first time so she had nobody to help her with the machines. So we're trying to get the machines up," Byers told Fox 8.

The reporter noted that after the workers contacted the B.O.E., the polls were finally up and running by 7:30 a.m. But true to form for Kuyahoga Kounty, there were problems at several other locations through the county.

The hand picked democrat mouth piece picked to run the Kuyahoga Kounty B.O.E. for Secretary of State Brunnehilda is fellow broom flyer, Jane Platten. Brunnehilda took charge of the Kuyahoga Kounty BOE as a result of GOP Chairmen Blob Bennett and his over inflated ego.

Platten takes a page out of former Director Micheal Vu's book when confronted with voting problems - blame other people or just lie....

Jane Platten with the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections admits problems at a number of voting precincts including Euclid High School and Rocky River High School. Most of the problems were similar to the one in Bedford Heights and were attributed to inexperience at the locations.

"A lot of them were locations, places that haven't had an election," Platten told Fox 8. "There were some scattered (problems) in others too that have had elections, but for the most part it was concentrated where they haven't done this for a while."

I'm not sure about Rocky River or Euclid High School's, but I know there has been voting at the Jimmy Dimora Center for many years. With all the time, money and attention spent on this election - inexperience is no excuse for more failures!

Cuyahoga Co. BOE to return $153,000 in training money

Another example of why the previous members Cuyahoga County BOE needed to leave.

How could the previous board have not known about this money? Oh , I know - they were busy watching Bob Bennett fight for a piece of paper saying he was a good boy.

Fault can be placed on both sides. I sort of wonder why Vu or Dillingham did not point out this money. Or maybe they did not know. But they should have!None of the four (4) board members were aware of this money?

Then without any hesitation, Dimora, Taxin Tim and Peter "I used to work at Lawson's" Jones, cut a check for training, no questions asked!

From the PD --

The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections must return $153,000 earmarked for poll worker training to the secretary of state because officials forgot to use it.

While county taxpayers paid $1.5 million last year to train poll workers to ensure a successful November general election, $153,000 from a federal grant of about $258,000 exactly for that purpose sat unused and apparently forgotten.

And the secretary of state's office reminded the elections board in November that the grant - federal Help America Vote Act dollars - had to be used by Dec. 31 or be returned.

Cuyahoga Community College got a $750,000 contract to train the poll workers.

In the past, training had been done in house. The county spent about $8 million beyond what was budgeted before the November election, including $1.5 million for poll worker training. More....

Though it will be difficult, I am quite confident, interim board Chair Jeff Hastings, will be able to eventually right this sinking ship at the Cuyahoga County BOE.

Bob I need a good joke - Tell me again how you were doing a good job!

Third Cuyahoga BOE member resigns - Bennett still hangs on

From the PD Breaking News -

A third member of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections resigned today, leaving just one holdout to fight an attempt by Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner to oust the entire board.

The latest to depart is Sally Florkiewicz, a former chairwoman of the county Republican Party. Her term was to expire in 2012. Two Democrats -- Edward Coaxum and labor leader Loree Soggs -- resigned last week.

The remaining board member is Chairman Bob Bennett, chairman of the Ohio Republican Party. Brunner has begun a process aimed at firing Bennett. She has cited the conviction of two elections workers on recount-rigging charges.

-------------------------------------
Well this is a good sign, who know's why all of a sudden Sally opened her eyes and stopped being blindly led by the nose by Bennett.
I really can't wait to hear how this battle will help our party.
The only losers in this battle will be the voters of Cuyahoga County!

Breaking News

Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner asked for the resignation of all four Cuyahoga County elections board members Sunday evening. She will move to fire them if they don't agree to leave by the close of business on Wednesday.

Brunner said the two Democrats, Edward Coaxum and Loree Soggs, originally agreed to resign if asked but now appear unwilling to do so. Republicans Sally Florkiewicz and board Chairman Bob Bennett plan to fight the order. Bennitt is holding a news conference in Columbus today, where he says he will take the secretary of state to court.

She said she decided ask the board to resign after a Cuyahoga County judge sentenced two board of elections workers to 18 months in prison for rigging a recount of the 2004 presidential election. A year and a half behind bars is the maximum punishment allowed by law.

So much for Bennett doing what's right!

I could see being upset that Brunner is going to fire him, but he should have stepped down as chairmen to allow a republican to be named Executive Director.

How any of the practices of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections could be defended are beyond me.

To be quite honest, all the board members should be ashamed of what they allowed to happen at the board! They should have all stepped down without having to be asked.
