Another Quality Strickland Appointment

Ted Strickland just named Henry Guzman as our states public safety director. This is the man who was in charge of the department overseeing the contracts on the runway project at the airport.

Overseeing the contracts which were "rife with fraud" as the PD qouotes;
On Friday, he appointed longtime Cleveland administrator Henry Guzman as the state's public safety director overseeing the State Highway Patrol, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles and the Emergency Management Agency.

Guzman served as Cleveland's service director and then safety director from 1993 through 2001. His last job in Cleveland City Hall was in 2002 and 2003 when he ran the Office of Equal Opportunity, which oversaw minority participation in the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport expansion and other city projects.

Recently released reports say the airport project was rife with fraud in which white contractors paid minority firms for doing little or no work.

Guzman said in an interview Tuesday that he was unaware of the fraud but knew that the FBI was interested in the primary airport expansion contract with Anthony Allega Cement Contractors Inc.

He said he tried to thwart sham minority contracts by requiring officials from both the white- and the minority-owned companies to sign sworn affidavits stating that the money was paid and that the work was performed.

The airport project will soon be one of the biggest cases of fraud and corruption in Cleveland's history. The link, as they are now showing, will go all the way back to former Mayor Mike White and Nate Gray.

Now Rev. Ted will put him in charge of Public Safety, before the investigation is complete. In case anyone is unaware of the on going investigation and scandal on the Hopkins Airport Runway project click here.

I am not accusing the guy of being crooked. Incompetent - Hell Yes!
