Many of you were on vacation last week, but while you were gone, more than 78,000 (and counting) of you signed our petition to Pres. Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asking them to keep the workplace verification amendments passed in last week's Senate Homeland Security Spending Bill in the final version.
This petition is different than our past ones and other internet petitions. Because of the time sensitivity of the issue, whenever someone adds their name, a copy of the petition is electronically delivered to Pres. Obama. And every day, a member of the NumbersUSA staff personally delivers all the previous day's new petitions to the offices of Pelosi and Reid.
If you haven't signed the petition, you must do so now to help secure jobs for unemployed Americans and returning veterans. Since both chambers of Congress passed different versions of the bill, it is headed to a conference committee where Reid and Pelosi with a representative from the White House will draw up a compromise version of the bill.
Sign the petition NOW asking them to keep the four amendments in the bill, and forward it to all your friends and relatives.
