Akron Children's Hospital discriminates against future workers

What the hell is this?!?! Could this not be considered a discriminatory policy they plan on enacting?

From NewsNet 5 --

Akron Children's Hospital, beginning Nov. 1, will not hire any applicants who test positive for nicotine, regardless of experience and qualifications.

The Beacon Journal, NewsChannel5's news partner, reports the hiring policy will continue the hospital's goal of modeling healthy behaviors to the patients and families it serves.

Just two years ago, the hospital banned smoking everywhere on its campus and prohibited employees from smoking at any time during their workday.

Current workers will not be affected by the new policy.

Typical of the liberals in this country.... it is OK to discriminate against anyone who has not been afforded with one of their specially created "special classes." Can't discriminate against women, illegal bean-eating border jumpers, blacks, long-haired hippies, religion, fat people, speech, etc... Oops, we can't forget the gays - but discriminating against smokers is OK.

And for you idiots that try advancing the unproven argument about second hand smoke being dangerous to others health....

Queers spread AIDS - pretty sure this is bad for a persons health too!

Fellow SOB blog - Conservative Culture - posted the other day about a photographer that was successfully sued because they refused to shoot a gay wedding.

How or why should a person who smokes AFTER work be excluded from being hired.
