Trakas Challenges Kucinich to Reveal Costs of Impeachment

How much money has been taken out of the pockets of the working people of Cleveland to continue a futile political and personal agenda of the Hollywood Elite?

(INDEPENDENCE) Former State Representative and 10th District Congressional Candidate Jim Trakas today challenged his opponent, Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich to provide a financial accounting of his staff and any overtime costs for the futile attempts to impeach President Bush and Vice President Cheney. Measures that not even the Democratic Congressional leadership support.

“The people of the 10th District are paying for these juvenile political games, and it costs real money to put on the Kucinich Impeachment Circus,” commented Trakas. “While his constituents are still having trouble putting food on the table and fuel in their gas tanks, their Congressman is continuing to squander his time and his constituent’s money while not solving any of the real problems here at home. Kucinich continues to do the bidding of his far left wing Hollywood big money donors with pointless impeachment attempts.”

Trakas noted that between trying to impeach President Bush and Vice President Cheney, taxpayers have spent untold amounts of dollars in professional staff time, and costs with continuous unsuccessful results.

Trakas, himself a former legislator who authored -14- bills into Ohio Law, noted that staff and legal costs add up. “These types of frivolous games cost the people of Greater Cleveland money but derive no benefit to the working people of Cleveland.

Congressman Kucinich can be working to solve real problems----and there are many of them----but this is how he spends his time and your money.”

Trakas has furthermore, written a public information request to The Clerk of The House of Representatives of the United States seeking the costs of the staff time both in Congressman Kucinich’s office, legislative staff, legal research, clerical work by the Clerk’s office, office equipment and supplies costs, and any other costs associated with Congressman Kucinich’s futile Impeachment follies.

Trakas concluded, “On behalf of the people of Greater Cleveland, I demand to know how much of their money is being wasted on Congressman Kucinich repaying the Hollywood leftists for their hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign donations.”

  1. I hope Kucinich is successful. Bush and Cheney have managed to shred the U.S. Consititution more than many people realize. We will be paying for this for a long time.

  2. Frank, can you please tell me how they have shredded the Constitution. I would like specifics. Also, did you think Abraham Lincoln was a good president?

  3. Hi guys and thanks for commenting.

Frank - Kucinich has had a history of failure as an elected official. AS you can read just about anywhere - NOBODY - in the house ever supports any of his half-baked measures.

Other than having the branches on Mrs. Smith's front yard picked up can you cite anything of importance or anything of value he has accomplished for this area?

As for Bush & Cheney shredding the Constitution... Are you serious?

I have to second the Nose's request of you giving examples on this far reaching statement of yours.

Obviously you are from the left or a democrat so there is an inherent hatred of our Prez and VP - but shredding the Consitution - PLEASE!

Let me guess what some of your reasoning may be...

    FISA, Patriot Act, etc...

Why is it bad if the government listens in on conversations of suspected terrorists? If by chance they happen to listen into a normal persons conversation and are alerted of a domestic crime - this information cannot be used if it was obtained under these types of wire taps. So pretty much unless you are planning an attack on our country - the average American Joe is not and cannot be charged with information obtained in this manner.

Are you aware of how many attacks have been averted because of these wiretaps? At least 19 attacks on US soil have been stopped.

We have lost no rights granted by our Constitution by any of these items. Most people are unaware that without a secure nation our Constitution is equivelant as a piece of toilet paper. We, the people, have had far too many rights. Over the years many of these "rights" have grown from perceived rights. Do I have to cite the saying - Freedom is not free?

Many of these so-called perceived rights have grown out of a continued slide towards an entitlement society and the liberal MSM. If anything these two factors are what have been slowly shreddiing our Consitution. EG - American Soldiers attacked at on outpost in Afghanistan the other day... this fact was FIRST poiinted out in the media - the outpost was attacked a couple days later - thanks to the media.

Before you say the war in Iraq was illegal - please research in an objective manner and without tunnel vision of WHY we went into Iraq. I do not mean just the talking points that were given. We know that the information that both parties used was flawed to an extent.

Back to Kucinich - you can vote for somebody who met with terrorists and sworn enemies of our country - but refused to meet with the US troops he represents?

Jim Trakas - may not be from the party you are with... but is by far a better candidate than Kucinich. But - what do you have to lose by giving Jim a well deserved shot. On his worst day - he can do no worse than Kucinich.

Jim has much of the same boyish charm that continues getting Kucinich reelected. I will say the integrity of both candidates is beyond reproach though. But Dennis has failed us for many years.

Think not just about yourself when you vote, but think about how your vote also effects your neighbor, your family, your friends...

Given a well deserved chance - electing Jim Trakas will be the first step in starting to turn this area around!

  4. King - Very Well Put!!

I never get specifics from anyone when the shredding of the Constitution is brought up. If any branch shreds the Constitution, it is that Conservative bastion know as the Supreme Court. (Whenever a correct ruling comes out, then the court is known as Conservative).
