Four people are dead after a night of gunfire in Cleveland. Three more are near death in local hospitals, police said. Nearly a dozen others are recovering from gunshot wounds.
Cleveland firefighter Terrance Hough Jr., 35, is in jail, accused of shooting a neighbor and two visitors dead and injuring five others in a barrage of gunfire at 4375 Sky Lane Drive a little after midnight. Hough lives at 4381 Sky Lane Drive.
The other shootings and a slashing:
- 9:40 p.m. at 7317 Elton Ave., a woman was found slashed with a knife. Family members found Marnie Macon, 37, dead in her apartment with deep lacerations to her forehead and a shoulder. There are no suspects or motive yet, Stacho said.
- 9:55 p.m. at 105th Street and Somerset Drive, a man was shot in the head and is near death.
- 3 a.m. in the Warehouse District outside the Sky Bar, a man was shot in the head and may die. Three other men were shot and are recovering. Two of the men live in Twinsburg, Stacho said.
- 3:32 a.m. at the Baby Grand bar in the 3400 block of St. Clair Avenue, a man was shot in the face and is near death.
Cleveland firefighters were scrambling as well, fighting three major fires overnight, on 78th Street and Madison Avenue, on Bailey Avenue and in the 2600 block of West 41st Street.
