Kidnapped American missing in Iran for 1 year

Believe it or not - I do not claim to know everything. I would like to think that from blogging I have a fairly decent handle of issues from local geoverment on up to international events. I rarely miss info on stuff coming out of Iran and this is why the following post shocks me.

FBI agent Robert Levinson was kidnapped in Iran last year and has not been heard from since.

From Iran Focus --

Levinson went missing March 8, 2007, after arriving on the Iranian island of Kish.

"We continue to press the Iranian government about Mr. Levinson and his whereabouts," State Department spokesman Tom Casey told ABC News. "We believe there is a lot more information out there and a lot more they could do to help find him."

According to associates, Levinson had traveled to Kish to meet with an American fugitive accused of murdering a former Iranian official in suburban Washington in 1980. U.S. authorities say he was last seen after checking into a local hotel for the meeting.

A spokesman at the Iranian Mission in New York says authorities in Iran would like to be of more help, "but unfortunately nobody knows what happened." More....

How is it and why is it that Levinson is not plastered on every newspaper and news show? We have a kidnapped American law enforcement official that was kidnapped and who know's what else and we hear nothing about it!

All this print, media attention and bloggers writing about Iran's quest for nukes, their meddling in Iraq, human rights abuse and desire to be a Mid-East Super Power and nothing on this poor guy.

Please help me - has anyone heard about Levinson's kidnapping in the last 6 months?
