Marlboro Man - An American Soldier

This is the first of a two part series written by Luis Sinco. Sinco is a L.A. Times photographer who took the now infamous picture of a battle worn and injured U.S. Marine, Blake Miller, taking a smoke break after a battle in Fallujah.

After being home, Miller now questions the Iraq War. After being treated as such can you blame him?

I can only wish him the best. Regardless if people agree or disagree on the Iraq War, everyone needs to agree our country cannot forget, abandon and shit on these soldiers like like they did the Vietnam Vets.

We ask these brave kids to go fight a war for our country, they are force to play by the bullshit new PC Rules of War, they have made sacrifices for our country and have witnessed things most people will never have to face, as a country the least we can do is make sure they have the best treatment and care possible.

If WE, as a country, are unable to be proud of our own soldiers when they come home by giving the very men & women that protect our freedom and national security interests, at home and abroad, the best possible care - what good is anything they are doing? What the hell is there to be proud of?

The face in that picture can be anyone and represents all of our soldiers. We cannot tell them they are doing the right thing, which I believe they are, if we throw them away when they come home.

If we lose the hearts of our soldier's, there goes the soul of our country!
