Teacher Discipline Data Base

The Ohio Department of Education has created a website that can be used to see if any teachers in your school district have been reprimanded for misconduct, including cases where teachers physically or sexually abused students.

This long time needed data base will help the school districts weed out any undesirable teachers and/or pervs from among their ranks. Prior to the data base being created, schools were not always notified by the ODE if teachers have been reprimanded or had a history of misconduct.

ONN reports the data base was created after the Columbus Dispatch did a story outlining widespread disciplinary problems among teachers and the lack of access to this information for the public.
