Hambo on Dann

I asked Hambo from Politically Incorrect Gazette what he thought about the Dann sexcapades. I guess I was remiss in my reading and missed his earlier scribbling about Dann...

I haven't updated the story on PIG.

The last thing I read was some mind-numbed insanity about the Buckeye State Demoncrats voting not to endorse him. Everyone seemed to think non-endorsement is a big deal. I don't get that. He's already got the job and seems to think this will blow over if he just hunkers down and rides it out. Given the chad-punchers' short attention span, he might be right, on that count. If all else fails, he can steal a page from the Elephant Clan's playbook and run for re-election in a couple years under the slogan: I know that I really, really suck, but my opponent sucks more.

Bold new concept.

FYI - Here's what we posted about Marc Dann, last Friday:

When King’s Buckeye State homeboys swept the Elephant Clan out of power in Columbus in the 2006 elections, one of the beneficiaries of this chad punching, political tsunami was a clown named Marc Dann, the man elevated to Attorney General. How did Marc celebrate his newly elevated status? He got horizontal and squishy with his 28-year-old scheduler, Jessica Utovich.

Taking their cue from Attorney General Dann, some of Marc’s friends, who were on his payroll, took Marc’s antics as a green light, so they declared open season on the women in the Attorney General’s office. Unlike Marc's moves on his squeeze, Jessica, Marc’s pals and their hot-handed antics, were not welcomed, and charges of rampant sexual harassment started to fly.

When the bovine excrement hit the proverbial cooling device with a resounding ‘splat’, the heads started to roll. Two of Attorney General Dann’s pals - Anthony Gutierrez, director of general services, and Leo Jennings III, director of communications - were fired outright. The third member of Marc Dann’s horndog posse, his chief of staff Edgar Simpson, resigned. At the same time, the hottie who shared Marc’s bed, Jessica Utovich also resigned.

The last man standing, Attorney General Marc Dann, is the bull’s-eye in a political firestorm that shows no sign of abating. So far, Marc Dann’s response to calls for his resignation by editors, members of his own Demoncrat party and his foes in the Elephant Clan is ‘hell no, I won’t go’. As fun as that sounds, it gets better.

Unlike every rational adult in Ohio, Attorney General Dann seems convinced that he didn’t do anything that meets the criteria of an impeachable offense. Since he’s the top legal eagle for the state, his assessment can’t be trumped very easily. The state could, of course, call for the appointment of an independent investigator, but that, too requires the cooperation of Ohio’s Attorney General, Marc Dann. Holy Catch-22 on steroids, Batman!
