Bush say's - NO Bull SCHIP!

Good for President Bush!

Bush vetoed the State Children's Health Insurance Program, (SCHIP), after congress refused to curb their desire to include adults, middle income families and close loop holes for illegal immigrants to obtain coverage. Their other option was to leave the current version in place - partisan politics and their inner craving for socialism would not allow that though.

From ONN --
In a statement notifying Congress of his decision, Bush said the bill was unacceptable because - like the first one - it allows adults into the program, would cover people in families with incomes above the U.S. median and raises taxes.

"This bill does not put poor children first, and it moves our country's health care system in the wrong direction," Bush's statement said. "Ultimately, our nation's goal should be to move children who have no health insurance to private coverage, not to move children who already have private health insurance to government coverage."

The bill Bush vetoed would have increased federal funding for SCHIP by $35 billion over five years, to add an estimated 4 million people to the program that provides insurance coverage for children from families who earn too much to qualify for Medicaid but cannot afford private insurance. The joint federal-state program currently provides benefits to roughly 6 million people, mostly children.

Bush should now prepare for the onslaught of criticism for SCHIP-canning this attempt to expand health care for children into the beginning stages of socialized health care for all. The spin will be put that Bush does not like or care about children - when the truth of the matter is.... the democrap's pushing the Grand Canyon like expansion of this bill & their all or nothing attitude, is what hurt the children.

Bush wanted to cover MORE poor children than the original version. The democrats balked when Bush called their bluff and said he would support their program ONLY IF - "all poor children eligible for the program be found and enrolled before any in slightly higher-income families could be covered."

My opinion is this whole thing is BULLSCHIP! Health care and its' associated costs (doctor's, insurance, preventative care, etc...) is the one single issue most negatively affecting most Americans today. Without demanding change in the health care industry this problem will continue to plague our country.

I fully support capitalism (I love Wal-Mart) but the medical industry is raping the American public with the exorbitant costs. Throwing good money after bad is not the way to solve this problem - reigning in the cost of health care is!

Why should everyday working Americans be forced to pay astronomical costs for their own health care and insurance, then be taxed higher to help pay the medical cost of poor people when hospital's refuse to be accountable and medical executives are taking huge bonuses.

Case in point - a friend of mine broke his wrist last year. Went to emergency room for immediate care then had outpatient surgery to fix his wrist - the cost $25,000 plus occupational therapy cost for rehab.

What happens when when the hospitals are asked to be more accountable in their spending? The democrats, the party that claims to be for the working man and appear to be on the wrong side of this issue, come to their rescue!

With democrat presidential candidate Hillacrite Clinton already bought and paid for by the medical industry and democrat U.S. Rep Stepahnie Tubbs- Jones protecting the multi-million dollar interests of hospital's operating under the guise of the cherished - non-profit status, the fleecing of America in the name of "Health Care" will continue!
