Is McCain the GOP Man?

The Iowa and New Hampshire primary for presidential candidates is the kick off for the '08 election. The democrats front runner, Hildebeast at 42%, has consistently held a double digit lead over her closest opponent - Barack Osama at 23% since the beginning of November. Poll wise Edwards (16%) is in the back room getting another hair cut.

It is all but guaranteed that Hilldebag will be the democrat nominee. The republican nominee will be ???

It is nowhere near as cut and dry on the GOP side. The momentum of each candidates has swirled wildly as a blast from a lake effect snowstorm blowing off Lake Erie. The daily Rasmussen poll has them buried together as if in a snow drift....
  • Giuliani - 15%
  • Huckabee - 16%

  • Thompson - 12%

  • Romney - 16%

  • McCain - 17%

As candidates - one of these guys must rise to the top! The first two rounds of primaries in Iowa and New Hampshire should give us a better picture. I am starting to hope it is John McCain.

As we can see the numbers reflect no candidate "bowls over" any of the conservative or republican voters.....

"One of the more amazing things about the Republican race this year is that it has grown closer and closer over time," notes Rasmussen. "In a poll with a four-percentage point margin of error, the fact that five candidates are within five points means there is absolutely no national frontrunner. Adding to the uncertainty is the fact that 13 percent of likely primary voters remain undecided."

When looking at our GOP candidates we must look to see who we believe can lead our nation during the dangerous times we face. One that is able to adapt with the changing times, but not be swayed by public opinion and poll numbers. We need a leader that is receptive and strong not one that is intimidating, aloof, or shows signs of being indecisive.

When you take the above and put it to our candidates - the picture can look even more disturbing, or maybe, just maybe, that one guy we need - is starting to appear in your mind. We must be aware our candidate not only needs to win the primary - but the general election in November '08. A candidate winning the primary and not the general election means - we lose and our country loses!

Considering the issues here at home and the growing troubles abroad our candidate must be able to hit the ground running. Meant as no slight to any of our candidates (except Romney & Guido) the picture is starting to become clear for me, and hopefully for the voters of Iowa & New Hampshire.

The candidate we need, the candidate that HAS the experience and CAN win the general election is - John McCain!
