- Expand Refinery Capacity
- Develop Fuel Cell Technology
- Invest in Solar and Wind
- Expand Clean Coal Technology
- Reconsider and Utilize Nuclear Power
- Partner with Automobile Manufacturers
- Expand Natural Gas Use
- End the Ethanol Subsidy
- Develop a National Policy on Energy
Conversely, Congressman Kucinich recently mailed a “Community Update” to 10th District residents revealing his “5 Tips for Reducing Gas Costs,” which included driving the speed limit and accelerating gently. He also introduced the Gas Price Spike Act of 2008, a bill that would impose a windfall profit tax on oil companies and, if enacted, would result in higher gas prices as these new levies would be passed along to consumers. “Altering our driving styles and raising our taxes are not real solutions America’s energy challenges,” stated Trakas. “It is well past time for our nation to take charge of this issue and get on the road toward energy independence, using the classic strengths of American manufacturing, technology, and innovation.”

ReplyDeleteThe raw dealer pointed out that Cuyahoga county is in the top three producers of carbon dioxide. Now, there is no proof that carbon dioxide emissions do anything to the temperature...don't make me prove this right now...so, following the logic of any RINO like Trakas should...he should have started by saying he would stop the county shuttle service, the RTA, from so producing so much carbon dioxide.
Perhaps by converting the fleet to a hybrid system thereby cutting dependence, and using less camel jocky produced natural gas.

I must say if your comment is any indication of what or the way your so-called New Dumbo Clan will be run - God help us! WE already have a head-in-your-ass group running the local party - we do not need another.

First, the raw dealer (Plain Dealer) as you call them is a liberal rag not even suited for lining a bird cage. They have also played their role in destroying this region. So I would not put a whole lot of faith in their info.
On your carbon dioxide emmissions - can you please point out where Jim says he too buys into the Al Gore created "Sky is Falling" global warming/carbon dioxide emmission myth?
I believe the symbolism of speaking from an RTA rail station would be the mass transportation aspect. The RTA has enough headaches and wastes enough tax dollars with their own version of how they are going to fix Cuyahoga County with their silver butt bullet plans ( Corridor, Lake Front Lines). Giving them more money is not the answer.
I would say your suggestion, though mindless, would be better served if brought forth by one of our county candidates. Do we have any candidates running for county office? With Trakas pushing for the development of more fuel cell technology - the RTA can then use this technology to retro fit or get new buses.
While neither myself or KRS speaks for Jim Trakas, I believe what Jim is trying to point out is that he has a realistic plan in comparison to the intellectually vacuous "inflate your tires" & "save gas - fart in a jar" plan put forth by the democrats & Kookcinich so far.
While this region is dying a slow death Kookcinich is on vacation and wasted his years in office on stumbles for the White House and attempts of impeaching the Pres & VP that went unsupported by his own party - instead of worrying about the district he represents.
