Senate Democrats Select Cleveland Councilwoman Turner For Mason’s Seat

Members of the Senate Democratic Caucus said Wednesday they have selected Cleveland Councilwoman Nina Turner to replace outgoing Sen. Lance Mason in the 25th District.

Mr. Mason is leaving the legislature this month for a seat on the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas.

“It was a unanimous vote for city Councilwoman Nina Turner,” Sen. Minority Leader Ray Miller (D-Columbus) said. “Her knowledge of the issues combined with her familiarity with the legislative process and elected experience make her well prepared to address the breadth of concerns of the 25th district.”
