Another candidate for Tubbs Jones 11th District seat

It looks like there are now two declared candidates running to replace Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones. Supposedly there are several more undeclared individuals who have voiced interest.

I posted earlier Warrensville Hts Mayor Marcia Fudge, a sorority sister of Tubbs Jones, was the first and now former State Senator C.J. Prentiss has thrown her hat in the ring.

From the PD --
Former State Sen. C.J. Prentiss, now a special education adviser to Gov. Ted Strickland, wants to replace the late U.S. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones in Congress. Prentiss, a sorority sister of Tubbs Jones, is also considering running for the rest of her current term, which runs through December.

"I don't think this is a situation where two to three people huddle in a room," Prentiss said at the annual 11th Congressional District Labor Day parade and festival. "The community speaks. That's the way Stephanie would have wanted it."

At least seven Democrats are interested in taking Tubbs Jones' seat.

I wonder who the others could be?

I would say if Prentiss runs & wins the remainder of Tubbs Jones seat, she would be the hands down favorite to get the general election endorsement. For that matter who ever runs & wins to serve the remainder of the term would be the hands down favorite for the endorsement.

This will continue to be interesting as the dems start drawing lines for favorites.

  1. My question...already answered in my head...with why Joe Cimperman does not run for the 11th congressional seat.

Cimperman lives in the 11th, but ran for the primary in the 10th.

The young RINO knows the answer...do you?

What do you guys think. this would be a big break through for Cimperman...why might he not being taking it?

  3. Personally Cimperman or Zach Reed would be damn good congressmen considering the make-up of the district prohibits a winning GOPer. (Assuming Zach could resist DC's nightlife).

Unfortunately there will be a virtual rogues gallery of incompetant buffons and partisan hacks who will slug it out on the DEM side, and as Republican primary voters we'll get to vote for Tom Pekarek, who despite being a resonably intellegent guy will be lucky to pull 25%.

  4. That's a big assumption regarding Reed. I don't think he'd be able to resist.
